I don't have anything that I can pinpoint as Float's fault

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Clear & Simple

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Everything is nicely laid out and clearly colour coded.
What do you dislike about the product?
The reload popup that occurs quite often is a little annoying. I can't think of much else.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organising daily programming team tasks. It's not our main project management tool but it's a great way to clearly see what everyone should be doing on a given day and to plan ahead.

Useful Resource Planner

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to set up working hours, teams and to allocate projects and tasks. Very clearly shows pinch points and spare capacity. Functionality to create recurring tasks helps give the work day a more realistic feel and encourages regular use.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you need to significantly change when you have allocated tasks and/ or whole projects, it can be quite difficult. For these changes a detailed list view of tasks in a project (with date and user) would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Big problem we have solved is being able to demonstrate to the business where resourcing issues (specifically staff) is going to create a bottle neck down the road. Also has allowed a much more informed and reason-based estimates on project completions and timescales for resolving new requests.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ideal if your primary need centres around resource management and planning. Not a full blown project management tool, but excellent as a compromise between a very detailed and complicated tool, and a simpler free option like Asana.

Part of my daily routine

What do you like best about the product?
First of all, I really like the clean look of Floats interface. Everything is clearly structured and even with a high amount of people in the schedule section overview is given.
I am a big fan of numbers and statistics so I enjoy the "Reports" page the most. There I can see the current workload of my team and other company members.
Another nice to have feature is the "Projects" page which shows you information like budged and timeframe for each of your projects. To sum it up. Float is an all in one app. filled with all the information you need for resource planning.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't really much I could wish for except one thing which isn't critical at all. I would love to have some more detailed customization options for all sections to personalize Float for my needs.
Also, a minor dislike from my side is the font withing the schedule section. Depending on the display variant you use + color of the tasks, it can be a little bit hard to read. But as I mentioned, it's a minor issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Every morning before work it gives me a greater overview of what's going on today in the company. I can see what my tasks are for today and what other people in my office are working on.
Team resource planning is so much easier before. Cool features like the people and budget section giving detailed information about nearly everything needed for proper planning and managing of your team and company.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for an all-in-one package. Float it perfect for you.

Perfect for pure Traffic and scheduling

What do you like best about the product?
Simplicity, customisation, drag n drop and general user experience
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be a bit buggy sometimes but they are minor and correct themselves
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visibility of workflow, for me and my team - while keeping single control of it. Also there is no money changing hands as were purely in house, and the system allows for that easily

What do you like best about the product?
I very much like the UI as it is what you would expect from a new age software. I also liked the filtering functionalities that easily help you retrieve information.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing that I would say that disliked.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is used for time management and it is efficient.

    Outsourcing/Offshoring

Simple and Clean

What do you like best about the product?
1. Definitely ease of tracking for team members.
2. Great presentation of each user's data across the board.
3. Easy to add and remove tasks / descriptions.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Lack of labels for some details i.e. Legends / Color marking and their meanings.
2. Layout is not easily customized.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had difficulties tracking user's activities and what tasks are assigned for using Excel, so we always had trouble keeping up with the latest updates. With float it enables scheduling to be done hassle free, and its quite efficient per se, definitely should give it a go to figure out its benefits.

Onboarding process support

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Colour coordination for different PMs, that way it's really easy to tell who's project work I've got coming up.
What do you dislike about the product?
That I can't have my own or particular colleagues that I'm working with that day / week automatically load up when I login. If I can do this somehow please let me know, I've looked for this capability but have been unable to find it!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been able to evidence my capabilities as a new starter by having a visual representation of how much work I've gotten through, solving the problem as a new starter of sitting there twiddling thumbs. In my first week I'd be able to easily show my manager and other team members that I'd completed the work sooner than expected and was able to handle more (and more difficult) work at an early stage of working for LEO.
