Float makes scheduling so easy

What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can easily search and pare down to locate the information you need. Visually it is very appealing and easy to maneuver through.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do and do not like the holiday feature. I appreciate that you can easily add holidays in different regions, but it’s kind of difficult to customize for a large group. I also have a problem when I am working in Float - the “My projects” “Departments” drop down lingers and I constantly have to click in the search bar to type something to make it go away. Last feature I think could be enhanced - when making changes to an event - there should be a “are you sure” window that pops up to confirm that you do want to delete. I’ve mistakenly made changes before where I didn’t mean to which caused some problems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm scheduling a large number of people for different tasks and using Float makes it easy to visualize and see where I have openings.

Invaluable Product!

What do you like best about the product?
I like Float, because it is the most efficient way to keep track of our day. We use float to review our individual schedules, but most importantly--we can keep track of everyone else too!! At a glance, I can review my project details and associated colleagues assigned to it. Float also allows me to look at future projects. I especially appreciate the notifications I get via email on my upcoming schedule. This is helpful when things change...as they sometimes do. I am instantly "in the know". It pays to know...so this product is invaluable!
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing! From the Schedule to People to Projects to Reports, I am able to quickly find valuable information about our team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving the age-old question of Billable Hours! This is a quick reference to not only mine, but others on the team. I also use it to help focus my communication when a colleague may be in a different time zone. I can keep track of everyone here--which is a great benefit.

Float your boat

What do you like best about the product?
A week-at-a-glance view has been proven as a way of improving individual productivity, time management, and performance -- this is why so many electronic planners and hard-copy planners are organized this way. Having a team view the week at a glance also confers similar benefits, as well as the accurate resourcing of projects, work activities, and the time of those people performing the work.
What do you dislike about the product?
E-mail notifications could be a touch faster.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am better able to structure my days by seeing what projects I have in store for the week.I am able to focus on quality time and to stay on the right path.

    Information Technology and Services

Great software for planning but missing some features.

  • February 12, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like the possibility of having a global view of the activities and the possibility of having a fast (very fast) synchronization with the Outlook calendar. Furthermore, it is really useful to assign different roles to people in order to define planning permissions.

Also like the possibility to define different project and client for a better organizzation of the tasks over the people of the team
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't relaly love the graphic style of the calendar / schedule view. Hiding over the weekend it is difficult to see at a glance the separation between the various weeks. Also there is no translation of the portal in Italian, not a serious deficiency, but if there were it would be better :)

It also lacks the ability to view your schedule in a daily agenda format in order to have a more precise schedule of your commitments, as you can do through outlook.

I think also that a daily email with a recap of the daily schedule can be useful for improve the work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Float provided me with the opportunity to simplify my work by saving time in resource management. It also provided the company with the opportunity to have a global view of the workload of the different teams.

Good for managing dynamic workloads

  • February 12, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to see my own workloads and my team mates easily. Being able to look over long periods of time to remind myself what I did and when I did it. Getting emails when my float has been updated allows me to plan ahead for upcoming projects and use my time more efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is pretty intuitive, so there isn't much to dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps project managing & finding the best times to collaborate.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you work in a projects based, busy environment it's definitely useful for managing workloads.

Easy to use

  • February 11, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to use. Only positive impressions has left after using it. It's very easy to learn to use and even thought the design is simple, there are some handy tricks going on that optimizes your workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
There were no a single thing which was drastically bad.
Except one thing: I would love to have there more access levels. My management is using it for managing an increasingly large group of people and they need them to be able to edit anyone's schedule in their Department. Currently there is only "Project Manager" or "Member" and neither one suits the needs perfectly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our "team" have more 100 people working on around 30 plus projects at a time. Many of these people work across multiple projects simultaneously and quick look and management tool is necessary for this. It's difficult to plan their capacity and delivery timescales in such an surroundings, and at the same time Float makes this about as easy to do and as transparent as it could be. A Big Gratitude to the whole team of Float!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do not hesitate to read guides as they will help you to grasp everything quickly and will benefit you in the long run.
Instruct the rest of the team well, and not just the administrators initially tasked with briefing in the work. This will assist everyone to make the best out of this software. Use the custom interface in order gain the best experience for your team and yourself.

Simple Schedule and Project manager

  • February 08, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
My company tried using Asana for about a year and found it too complicated to get everyone on the same page.
Then we went fully manual, by switching to spreadsheets for schedule and project management.

Float finds a nice middle ground of simplicity and interactive UI. It's great that managers can view everything from a project view and makers and creatives can look at just their own schedule. Plus the option to subscribe to an actual calendar format makes it easy to view our schedules on the go from our phones and personal devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't found a way to specify what TIME of day things need to happen. When viewing from a subscribed calendar, every event is an "all day event"
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps understand our teams resources. Different people can view in a format that is useful for them. This has resulted in less overtime and more clarity for our makers and creatives.

What do you like best about the product?
Float is user friendly and allow you to track progress and schedules for various tasks
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that you can't undo functions and there is a 24 limit on tasks you can log per day
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
scheduling and progress of task completion. You can monitor all activity in one location and determine what is pending and what is completed
