Great scheduling software

  • February 05, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to allocate projects / clients to tasks. Many other software didn't have a clear time allocation or overview week by week of the schedule. Float is very transparent, quick and easy to use and view the work an individual or team has booked. The reporting feature is also very handy to see where time has been spent by whom and if we are going over time!
What do you dislike about the product?
The only feature I would recommend that isn't currently available is to duplicate time blocks easily, you can drag similar length projects across days, but sometimes I may want to work 3h on one day and 2h on another currently I'd have to enter the task twice, may be easier if I could just copy and duplicate then edit the time needed only.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has brought increased efficiencies across our design team, making it much easier to get projects briefed in, time allocated and client managed properly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Float is a case of use and implement it into your schedule or don't use it all, we initially had paper briefs and a scheduling white board, we did away with all of that and haven't looked back. It's most effective when used to the full across every team member.

Helpful view of capacity in teams

  • February 04, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to automatically map hours across the team with holiday, sickness already considered. As a user the dashboard was user friendly and a helpful reference when progressing through a month.
What do you dislike about the product?
The inability to spread project hours unevenly across weeks/days for the regular roundup e-mails to users. Users requested an additional level of detail that reflected their evolving day to day capacity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A helpful view of capacity, work distribution and team member availability.

Miranda - FullFunnel

What do you like best about the product?
Float provides a good visualization on the distributed hours that we assign our remote part-time employees to be working on a particular client.
What do you dislike about the product?
Very limited in terms of features, would be nice if there was some sort of integration that made it easier to email and communicate with the team about modifications to the schedule
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The way that it can be modified each week based off vacations and other anomalies make it easy for our team to see the gaps that need to be filled in these instances.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you manage projects that need different hours allocation from each participant, Float provides a an easy-to-use platform for making sure everyone knows how to spend their time!

What do you like best about the product?
Float is easy to use, quick, and visually cool
What do you dislike about the product?
marking days with sick leave or holiday after planning jobs before, kicks out these jobs totally. no details about jobs can be mentioned in a kind of form or struture, e.g. job numbers, responsible people, etc. (only possible in the notes)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
capacity planning in a digital ad agency
Recommendations to others considering the product:

Super simple and powerful resource management tool

  • February 01, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Float is very powerful, easy to use at a glance, and not bloated with too many features.
What do you dislike about the product?
The functionality around planning for unconfirmed projects that are in the pipeline could be improved to allow for better scenario planning. We use various workarounds for this at the moment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Resource management and reporting.

Easy and useful software

  • January 31, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Float is very intuitive and easy to use. The search feature and the ability to drag and drop a task are great functionalities. It is a great tool to organise, visualize, and communicate the workflow with the team.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be useful to be able to move a half day task for the afternoon as currently, we do not have the choice to place tasks at a specific moment of the day. I would also like to see a better way to get a long-term view of capacity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is a great tool to organise, visualize, and communicate the workflow with the team. I am able to easily schedule many people and if I need to reassign a task to someone else, thats very easy to do.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a very efficient and easy to use tool to organise and communicate with a team.

How Awesome is Float???

  • January 30, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that it is THE software I needed to more efficiently monitor my staff workloads. I very easily assign staff to projects without having to question every other project manager in the office. We know who is available and who is not at all times.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not a single thing I dislike about using this product!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem solved is who is over worked and who is under utilized. I can now easily assign work to my team evenly. It brings down the stress level, folks aren't worried about not having work and other are stressed with too much.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get it!

float - Great for resource planning!

  • January 29, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We use the zapier integration to connect float to salesforce. This is how we automatically have our salesforce projects in float.
What do you dislike about the product?
We plan about 160 resources and have well over 2000 projects. Sometimes float gets pretty flow and the scheduling takes a while becuase of the auto complete feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use float to keep an overview of free resources (Consultants) for project staffing. It is easy to identify wholes in the schedule and find people for short term ad-hoc projects.

I start a new day with looking at Float.

  • January 28, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to use and very intuitive. Just one look at Float and I know what work I have to do during the day.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes zoom in / zoom out feature is not working properly, but that might be my device problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am working as a frontend developer and I start a new day with look at Float so I know what to do. Tasks are added by PM's in my company and I know they like Float too. After all they decided to choose it as our work management app. Without Float it would be much more difficult to manage my day schedule.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
In my opinion Float is easiest to use scheduling app.
