Simple and convenient
What do you like best about the product?
Simplicity and convenience. Easy to use interface and the most needed informations visible immediately.
What do you dislike about the product?
Scrolling speed through tasks, it's a little bit buggy
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team is planning tasks for designers and developers with Float. Our work is well organized and simple to make changes in somebody's weekly plan

highly recommended for teams bigger than 10 people for planning work

What do you like best about the product?
We are big fans of Float, it schedules our studio and keeps us organized. We have tried many other solutions over the years.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a positive and a negative, the software doesn't have a ton of features, but that's what we like about it. It does scheduling really well, and is super fast now that there's been an update. We really like it, despite its narrow focus.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting everyone on the same page, daily, with what work needs to happen. Also forecasting big batches of work and making sure we're covered - resource-wise.

Float is a great tool for seeing and managing project schedules.
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to visually see what the whole team is up to in one place. The simplicity of moving around/adjusting schedules on the fly.
What do you dislike about the product?
When tasks need to be reassigned (to other team members) there doesn't seem to be a way to do this in bulk. I have to manually move each piece of the project to the assigned person. I'm pretty new to Float, so I may have not learned how to do this, but at a minimum, it's not obvious or easy to figure out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have approximately 34 team members and constantly fluctuating project schedules. Float is super helpful for having one place to see what everyone is up to and being able to efficiently schedule project resources.
Float is great, really easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
continuously tweaking features for the better to further improve upon the UI/UX. My project management team did a lot of research on resource management tools and Float was the only one that allowed for such a granular view (i.e., instead of planning sprints in 2 weeks, it's day by day). We needed that for our business as we are run day-to-day with sometimes very small tasks (0.5-1hr) and Float was the only one allowing us to get that granular. Further, whenever we've had an issue the Support team is very quick and responsive to helping us!
What do you dislike about the product?
The Reporting tools aren't as great and well-organized as our Finance/Billing team would like. But the front-end is superior to the other tools my team considered so we are still using on that front.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Daily Resource allocation and management for the Project Managers to schedule client work and maintain progress throughout projects.

- There were couple glitches and numerous updates in January but that is resolved now
- Previously performance was not great, but there are great improvements recently on that part

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Float in our organization to manage resource allocation and we have been using it for the last 3 years. It has been mostly great and enhanced our resource allocation amazingly and provided great visibility into resourcing across different programs and into the future. We use Float to track Holidays and vacation across all regions (worldwide), we use it to forecast allocation and revenue across the team per each project. Permissions are straightforward and allow us to control what we want. We can keep projects as tentative while awaiting for the contract and still allocate people to provide visibility into anticipated resourcing load. Overall Float has been great for us and I would recommend it to any organization providing services and focused around resourcing their team. Float has been constantly evolving and you can notice the difference and improvements rolled out weekly if not daily. Thank you for your work Float team!

Simple planning tool
What do you like best about the product?
This tool is user-friendly enough that my managers actually have time for creating a schedule :-)
What do you dislike about the product?
Some minor issues that could be improved: data retention for ics exports should be increased to 3 months, locations should be added to scheduled tasks

Scheduling a team of consultants for a wide variety of different locations, customers and appointments

Easy team planning
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the simplicity of Float, as you get everything done with drag and drop. Filling a week of our 15+ people is a breeze.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some "glitches". One glitch is related to making the autocomplete more obvious, because when you delete the whole text in the field it stays there. Another glitch is that sometimes the sync breaks on other clients and they have to refresh to pull-in changes.
Their Slack integration is really basic at the moment, as it streams notifications over Slack. It would be way cooler and useful if it could send the weekly schedule to each member.

We needed to stay on top of the schedule for the engineering team and Float helps in that.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Sharing the schedule with users is really nice and useful, but think carefully about the users you want to schedule, because it's not good if they'll find their row empty.
