Useful Resource Planning Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use with intuitive interface, provides good visibility of current and future anticipated workloads for staff.
What do you dislike about the product?
Info out and only as good as info in, so staff have to be on board with using it accurately and regularly. Can be seen as "just another admin task" if benefits and insights aren't well understood.

Best resource management tool around
What do you like best about the product?
Time is the most valuable resource so the best thing about it is that I can see when my colleagues have work or are free to help with a project. I can also do this without distracting them from their current projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
At the moment we are unable to integrate float into some of the other tools that we use which means that it is solely used in a stand-alone setting. If there was more integration then it would become an essential tool in any business scenario.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Beforehand our resource and time management as a team was not great and it meant that we couldn't function to the best of our ability as a business however now we work in a far more streamlined fashion.

A useful tool to spread the workload
What do you like best about the product?
We use float for our resource management to make sure work is allocated evenly so we can see easily if someone is under or over utilised. It is an important part of our Monday morning meetings.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am yet to work out how to make changes to all team members at once. I can shift recurring events for individuals but not for example, shift everyone's tasks to the following week. This feature may be there but I haven't worked it out yet
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Float has been an enormous help with our resource management and forward planning
Fantastic, easy to use software
What do you like best about the product?
It is super simple to use. With 90 busy engineers and designers, we needed a tool that would provide workload managers with the info they needed without being time consuming or difficult to learn. Float has performed brilliantly. It's very easy to bulk upload projects which we do once per week.
What do you dislike about the product?
We needed to make all users 'Admin' in order for everyone to see all projects as soon as they are added (otherwise we needed to add every project to each person). But this works well for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used to use Excel to manbage our workload, but it was clunky, manual, time consuming and difficult to use. Float makes it simple for everyone to enter their workload every couple of days. It makes people more aware of their upcoming workload and makes workload managers aware of who is overloaded and underloaded.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For our engineering consultancy firm it works perfectly for managing our week to week workload. At the moment we don't use it for more longer term planning. I strongly recommend doing a trial with one team in your firm before full implementation.
