Easy Planning Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Our organization really likes Float as a picture of future bandwidth. Managers appreciate how they can quickly make adjustments to their direct reports' assignments and we have used Float as part of new hire business cases to get a quick visual of bandwidth constraints. Float is very easy to update on the fly as projects change.
What do you dislike about the product?
Customer service via email support can be confusing and take a long time to address the original question. This could be addressed by having a slightly different triage system. Additionally, if you have multiple URLs you can't implement SSO for all of them, which we discovered only at the end of trying to implement SSO.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to resource, plan projects, and have down-and-dirty gut checks on bandwidth more easily with Float. A wonderful feature is tagging individuals, as we are able to add skills, special notes, and more as appropriate, and filter by these tags (as well as levels, departments, etc.).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Float is cost-effective for mid-size organizations, though how you set up the account is really how it will stay in terms of URL. If your organization changes a lot and you foresee wanting to make a lot of changes, Float may not be perfect for you.

useful especially for my ADHD to see clearly what tasks I have for the day- the colour coding also helps

I find it confusing changing things in there, if I want to add a new task/ update/ if my manager is away I'm not able to do so or at least I'm unsure of how to

you can clearly see what everyone is working on which is really handy and means people don't get too swamped/ pressurised to take on excess work

really great way of mapping out projects, understanding resource issues

nothing actually , i love my float it's really easy to understand.

it's organizing my tasks in a very good way that it's easy for me to see my schedule everyday
Float has really helped us with our time tracking and long term projections

The calendar-style view is intuitive and makes planning future weeks/months quick and easy. It's great for high-level planning.

I wish there was better functionality/visibility when setting upcoming milestones and deadlines.

Logging our time has given us insights into where our time is spent, allowing us to create more accurate projections in the future

Easy to read. Can see time off. Breaks the day down into time slots, so you know what to tackle first.

There could be more dashboards to help you get more out of team analytics. However, I have not fully utilized that function.

To be able to see other people's projects and how much time I am to spend on each project.

There's no drop down menu to skip straight to my name.

It makes a clear understanding of who is working on what and for how long so I don't have to ask.
Float Review
What do you like best about the product?
Working with float in conjunction with my managers has made keeping track of my projects and my time sheets so easy. It really has been a huge help. Instead of going through emails or memos I can login to Float and see my entire work history for the month.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't had anything to dislike. It really has made one part of my job that I dislike much easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Less time doing timesheets, more consistency with my hours and my manager's records. Less back and forth wasting time over discrepancies in the schedule.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you hate doing time sheets this is a great site to help you and your team stay on track.

Design of the Schedule page, a calendar view would be a nice option.

Project time and task log. Easy to use at every Friday afternoon logging what had happened during the week.
