Stable product, suitable for limited integrations and lacks flexibility
What is our primary use case?
What needs improvement?
Every product has its pros and cons. Boomi has some drawbacks, but it's generally okay. It could be better in terms of features, flexibility, and especially storage. We have issues there.
In day-to-day operations, tracking transactions is a major challenge. It takes hours to track a single transaction. It is not a straightforward process.
Other products like TIBCO or IBM have simpler transaction tracking by ID. In Boomi, it's much more time-consuming. We need to go through each and every timestamp and identify the transaction details. It is a pain point for us.
We use Boomi only for process execution. We used it for API and APM but switched to Azure APM. The low latency mode is another pain point. General mode consumes a lot of resources, but to have adequate logging information, we need to deploy in general mode.
Whereas low latency gives very good throughput and good performance, but we are losing a lot of important information. So these are the some of the aspects.
For how long have I used the solution?
We've been using it for four years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It has been a stable product.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Scalability is another challenge for us. It is not scalable, not for our architecture and implementation setup. It hasn't been scalable for us.
It's used across multiple countries, so there are quite a few end users using this in our company.
How are customer service and support?
The technical support is good, albeit a bit expensive. We used to have professional services but now manage it internally with other vendors.
Support is actually very good. Response speed depends. Only for P1 and high-priority cases do you get quick responses. Otherwise, we need to chase them for P2, P3, or P4. We might wait a while for traction. But knowledge-wise, support is good. They have good people with good knowledge.
So, I would rate it a seven out of ten for knowledge and support, but perhaps a lower score for response speed on lower-priority cases.
Unless we go with professional services, it's expensive. Regular support is okay, though.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing is not reasonable at all. It's very high. Maybe Boomi is making changes recently, planning to triple the prices. That's a significant increase, and that's not gonna work at all for us.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We are planning to switch from Boomi. We are looking at Azure Logic App and Software AG. We're just exploring and have a year before making a decision.
What other advice do I have?
For Boomi, if your integration scope and work are limited, you can go with it. But for complex landscapes with multiple systems and close transaction monitoring, especially in finance or insurance, then you should look for more futuristic tools.
We've worked with many integration tools. For Boomi specifically, I'd rate it a six out of ten.
A highly scalable and reasonably stable tool that needs to improve on its prices
What is our primary use case?
Boomi AtomSphere Integration is a product used in some major pharmaceutical companies, making it quite a good solution. I had previously been in a major project where the solution was used. The solution is useful for integration with the data warehouse and SAP systems.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature of the solution is its monitoring part to debug certain issues and find problems.
What needs improvement?
I have not been so deeply involved that I could comment on what needs improvement in the solution. In general, I have not been an actual high-level user of the solution to comment on details concerning improvement in the tool.
I remember that one of my customers felt that Boomi AtomSphere Integration was a highly expensive product, owing to which they were looking for cheaper solutions. The high price of the solution is an area of concern where improvements are required.

What other advice do I have?
In my company, we use many video conferencing tools. I have seen that in video conferencing tools, the counterparts are very different. I have experience with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Tencent Meeting.
I was not deeply involved in Boomi AtomSphere Integration since it was already up and running when I joined my company's project. I could look back in the past to find out the product's history, and that is the most I can do. I know what the product is used for, but I can't go too much into the details.
Whether I would recommend the product or not actually depends on what a customer wants to achieve with the solution while also considering factors like the experience of the integration team and the kind of support a customer has in their company. It is not just about the technology but also the skills of a company or the partners with whom a company has relations.
Compared to Boomi AtomSphere Integration, there are easier products around, like MuleSoft or Jitterbit. I see MuleSoft or Jitterbit evolving since they have established a lot of integrations, depending on the markets and other things. From my perspective, Jitterbit was easier to operate and set up, while MuleSoft tried to simplify their product a lot when compared to Boomi AtomSphere Integration. MuleSoft started off as a very complex product, but now it's getting easier and easier, and MuleSoft now has a lite version. I didn't hear anything about Boomi AtomSphere Integration, especially in terms of major product improvements, which I know about.
I rate the overall tool a six out of ten.
