Version control does not have meaning without it!
What do you like best about the product?
It very easy to access through windows and linux both. Also there is a very good tutorial within the website.

One word - Everything! Especially the pull request review process.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much. Sometimes slow & unresponsive, but that could be due to bad server

It has made it much faster & easier.
Easy to use and very handy
What do you like best about the product?
The fact that one can perform many git operations using the webpage itself. The ability to perform ci/cd along with many features such as keeping track of different merge requests make it a powerful code management tool

No features as such, mostly easy to use
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing source codes between teams and providing visibility about different ongoing and finished tasks
Integrated solution for development workflow
What do you like best about the product?
GitLab does a great job at creating a unified experience for our developers. We previously had several best-of bread solutions (code repository, issue tracker, CI runners and deployment pipelines) co-exist between our team, but we managed to consolidate this into a single solutions, which meets most of our needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
The issue tracker's functionality is limited and is often described as hard-to-use for non-technical users. We have trouble with GitLab.com's stability/performance/uptime in the best, but this has become a lot better over the past year.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A single solution for most of our development workflow. This helped us to on boarding new developers more quickly while reducing operational overhead.
Go to for my Dev team.

Fantastic for collaboration at pace and super effective for version control.
What do you dislike about the product?
Bit of a learning curve. cli can be intimidating for beginners.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allows fantastic collaboration. Implementation of merge.requests has allowed us to adopt TBD.

I fell in love with gitlab
What do you like best about the product?
In my work as a freelancer GitLab is an excellent tool to take an order of each project that I carry out, each feature of this software is very important for all users, because we can import and export a project at the time we want and it will always be updated to the Most recent version that we have endorsed, the characteristics that I like the most is to be able to create branches of the same project in order to keep an order of the step by step I give.
GitLab is very simple to use once you know how to work with git, this being the most important thing today for anyone working in the development area.
It is very interesting to be able to create task panels where I can divide the workload into sections and these panels can name and assign people in case of working in groups.
I really like being able to integrate gitlab to softwares like Smargit or gitkraken making the use of git easier than having to do everything by command in the terminal.

What do you dislike about the product?
I've been working with github for 4 years and I've always had the pleasure of working at ease because I know that my projects are safe on your servers
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Teamwork as a freelance worker is very easy to do because you can take an order and each colleague works individually with the branch assigned to him
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For my gitlab, it is the best version controller that I can have and I can recommend it 100% after working for so many years with the
GitLab is a joy to use.
What do you like best about the product?
Gitlab is easy to navigate and a breeze to browse. Gitlab allows employees to make easy pushes, pulls, commits, and merge requests. Issue tracking makes it easy to see on-going needs with repos and the git server keeps everything secure.
It's more than just a repository though. GitLab can effectively handle the entire DevOps cycle at your company. It also provides a single source of truth when it comes to how commits are handled, who deploys code, and who is regularly contributing to repos.

What do you dislike about the product?
Downsides of using Gitlab: I've heard it was hard to set-up but I was not involved in that process, so I can't confirm. The UI could be faster. The platform can be somewhat un-intuitive at times, but once you get the hang of it, it is really a nice tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Gitlab has immensely increased my understanding in our system architectures by being easy to access, allowing me to read through our repos, view historical issues, and easily contribute additional documentation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take advantage of the myriad of features that GitLab contains. You can really use GitLab to help every team that touches the process of software deployment. QA can check that commits have actually been deployed and see the code that was committed, Developers are able to see each other's commits and project managers can see the overall status of projects, MRs, issues, and even MR statistics.
Easy handling and tidy
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to be able to develop multiple projects with my entire team.
What do you dislike about the product?
The inconvenience is that when multiple projects are developed the options are organized in a complex way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having solve to specify different projects with different frameworks and work without any compilation problem.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Highly recommended to work projects, to work them and share with your team.
The right choice to store our source code.
What do you like best about the product?
This software is very simple and effective. Setting up a pipeline is immediate. It is pretty documented and also newbie can approach a good result in short time. Issue and agile management of a project is a big plus and recent capabilities to monitor project performances are impressive.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no major drawbacks with GitLab. It provides most of the things with its free edition. However, the wait time for running CI pipelines is sometimes a bit longer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We loves GitLab so much. Since the last 3 years, we use it regularly and we don't have a single complaint about it. This software has made it easy to contribute to the project and our project is always private and only the members of the team could access it. It ensures security. The continuous integration has helped us to automatically deploy softwares on our infrastructure thus reducing our workload.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We are very satisfied and we will consider it also for the next professional projects. I highly recommend it.
