User friendly environment
What do you like best about the product?
We can. Create our pipeline and we can add Jenkins on top of it to automate the deployment process.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing much but one thing is we can add more user roles so that any organisation can handle it seemlessly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Code base maintenance with deployment fr it using AWS and lambda.

Integrations with other tools is awesome. Best feature is gitlab ci . Used extensively and loved it

Integrating Aws with gitlab ci was a piece of cake. Gitlab runners fast. Amount of customisation for gitlab ci is wonderful
GitLab: The best SCM and CI Tool
What do you like best about the product?
We are using GitLab CI for almost 4 years now, It's the best tool for source code management and CI service. We are using a single CI configuration for the test, build and deployment of the application from different branches. GitLab provides preconfigured runner but we are using our runner to make the builds faster. We are storing the artifacts like scan reports in the GitLab itself which is a great feature to track the status of security checks.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't this there's anything to dislike about GitLab but recently we struggled a lot while configuring the EC2 based runners with auto-scaling features. This is simply because the documentation is not sufficient. Another issue we faced was that the default GitLab runners are very slow as compared to custom runners.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using GitLab to keep the code and the pipeline on the same platform. This gives the DevOps team and the developers a clear vision of the code and the deployments from a single dashboard. Developers can see the error in the case of deployment failure, the DevOps team can access see the deployment status and issues and security can see the security report and all of these available on a single dashboard.

What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use and best maintability. Recommended to naive as well as old users.

Nothing but every product has its own pros and cons...whoever has encountered con would frame it better than me.

Benefit of maintaining the code and encountering every single line changed throughout the production.
GITLAB Source Control Repository
What do you like best about the product?
I worked with different version controls but the best thing abt the GITLAB/GITHUB etc. is the three-layer architecture and especially the most beautiful and the convenient UI it has to view our changes differences with the source control and also almost all the IDE has the plugin integrated to check-in or check out the code directly from the IDE tools like eclipse or Netbeans.
I like the main/master and feature branch feature very much, which helps maintain the clean code.

What do you dislike about the product?
Frankly, I don't see much downside with the GitLab repository, but one point would like to mention about the pricing of the private repositories. It should include beyond basic features when it comes to the public repositories.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Has very beautiful built-in UI to review the code and add the comments then and there itself.
Pull request to review the code before it is merged into the main branch or master branch, also see the changes made by the resource wise and count of commits made by each resource in the dashboard.

Good version control software
What do you like best about the product?
It is very user friendly and easy to use. It has its own cicd pipeline.

There is nothing to dislike as such. All the features are good

Version Control Made Simplified With GitLab
What do you like best about the product?
GitLab provides the best user experience with lots of useful features on GitLab UI like changes in the files, file browser tree, pipeline stages etc. Also, commands are simple to memorize and very useful related to rebase, merge, history rewrite etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
When there are conflicts in the files, we can't rebase using UI. GitLab team must provide an interface to resolve the conflicts in the code changes using the UI itself; thereby, "local rebase" should not be required.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using GitLab UI to control the versioning of the repository, to merge the code changes into the main branch, and to generate the automatic deployment after various stages are passed in the pipeline.

The convinience in accessing the required branches and ease of use for different version controlling makes it unique and special. Ease of navigation across repositories.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation which was provided was not explained in detail and can be improved. The cost to upgrade to a paid plan is a bit on the higher side and of reduced it can be the most cost effective in tbe market too.

Using an advanced version control tool makes your life easier in many ways. One such thing is the ease of collaboration with different teams on different projects at the same time.
