User-friendly and efficient for managing manual processes

  • August 21, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I primarily use it to automate repetitive data workflows.

How has it helped my organization?

The impact of Automation Anywhere on our organization has been significant. It has helped us save a considerable amount of time, approximately 30% to 40%, in repetitive processes and has improved automation accuracy. The finance team, in particular, has benefited, as their tasks are now automated from the data engineering side. I was able to integrate file transfers, validations, and data loading into pipelines, making the process more efficient.

Regarding the financial impact, my senior mentioned that it saves our organization around 40% to 50% in costs since it automates roughly half of the tasks, including data integration and file transfer.

What is most valuable?

Having completed the AI/ML engineering certification, I particularly appreciate Task Bots. They are extremely useful for handling repetitive tasks without errors. I also find IQ Bots valuable, as they can process unstructured documents—something that can be quite complicated—and automatically extract data. Additionally, the Control Room stands out for me, as it allows for centralized monitoring and management of all bots, which is crucial when multiple automations are running. These features are among the most beneficial I have encountered.

What needs improvement?

The platform is functioning quite well. Initially, I faced some challenges in learning the platform; it felt a bit complicated at first. However, as I became more familiar with it, I found it manageable. Debugging can be particularly tricky; identifying the exact reasons for bot failures can be time-consuming. Integration with modern data engineering stacks also posed some difficulties, but I have since learned to navigate these challenges.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Automation Anywhere as a data engineer intern for a year now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

As for stability, I would rate it a seven out of ten. Generally, the system is stable once the bots are tested and scheduled; they run consistently. We faced some challenges at the beginning, but they were manageable. Occasionally, updates or changes in the system environment can cause some disruptions, but these are not severe.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scalability is one of its strengths because it can handle large volumes of data efficiently. As processes grow, it is easy to add more bots without incurring significant extra costs or effort. The cloud infrastructure for deployment works well in tandem with this capability.

I am working in a small organization with around 18 employees, all of whom are AI and machine learning engineers, including myself.

How are customer service and support?

I would rate their support an eight out of ten. They are very helpful, but there is some room for improvement regarding quicker resolution times. They can take time to solve issues, but overall, the customer service is solid.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have only used Automation Anywhere as automation software so far, so I cannot compare it to others at this time. However, if I get the chance to use another software in the future, I will definitely make a comparison.

How was the initial setup?

The deployment process was quite straightforward and smooth since it is cloud-based. We deployed it on Microsoft Azure, starting small and gradually scaling up.

The Control Room feature made it easy to manage multiple bots in one place, allowing for effective monitoring. In the beginning, it took about two to three weeks to implement because we encountered several issues and system failures. However, our team did a great job, and we managed to overcome these challenges.

What other advice do I have?

I strongly recommend this software to others as it efficiently manages manual processes. All we need to do is monitor it and handle issues related to fault tolerance. Overall, it is quite effective for automation processes.

I would rate Automation Anywhere a nine out of ten. It handles our credential data securely and is user-friendly, though there is room for improvement in debugging and integration features.

Flexible data manipulation and scalability through seamless integration

  • August 01, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We use Automation Anywhere most of the time to automate Excel and the SAP system. I used to work for Bajaj Electricals. We are the vendor of Bajaj Electrical India Private Limited. There, most of the data are being pushed into SAP. We are getting data from SAP and manipulating it, and we are preparing reports every day.

What is most valuable?

The most valued feature of Automation Anywhere is its Excel functionality. Earlier in my career, I used Process Studio as my RPA tool. There was no flexibility of retrieving single cells. We used to fetch the total Excel and we used to apply the filters to get those cells. Automation Anywhere has the flexibility to extract data from Excel.

What needs improvement?

For non-technical users, some technical knowledge is needed in Automation Anywhere, so they cannot use it as flexibly as developers can. In my earlier career, when using a data table in Automation Anywhere and wanting to merge columns, there was a plugin called Group By. In Automation Anywhere, we have to create variables and append the data to a single variable one by one to get that flexibility. Having an activity for grouping columns would be great. For reading data from Excel, providing a single button to fetch all data columns would make it more flexible for developers. For filtering purposes in Automation Anywhere, we have to apply if conditions and additional conditions to get the appropriate data. Introducing filter activities would change the perspective of developing.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Automation Anywhere in my career for two months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

In terms of crashing, I have seen some crashes, but they were from other software such as SAP, WinSCP, and Outlook. There were no issues from Automation Anywhere.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The bots in Automation Anywhere are totally scalable. If the developer builds robust robots in parts, then we can use those parts for other processes by integrating them. I have built bots in many parts, such as SAP login. After performing applications, we close all applications. We have built those bots, and we call them once our process is done, so it will close all applications and erase the caches.

How are customer service and support?

I would rate technical support for Automation Anywhere a six.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used Process Studio as an alternative to Automation Anywhere. I prefer Process Studio more than Automation Anywhere. Process Studio was launched around 2017 and managed to get into the IDFC First Bank headquarters. According to IDFC use cases, Process Studio was trained and built with more flexibility for business use cases. Automation Anywhere is not as flexible as Process Studio. In Automation Anywhere, performing activities such as downloading, fetching, and data manipulation requires 20 to 30 lines of code. Process Studio gives multiple windows in a single activity, making data manipulation easier. For reading Excel, XLSV, XLSB, XLS files, there was a single plugin. Process Studio's plugins are more flexible than Automation Anywhere.

How was the initial setup?

Having used Process Studio, the initial deployment for Automation Anywhere was not difficult for me. I referred to YouTube videos for guidance. The only challenge was figuring out how to input my device name, which took one to two days until colleagues helped. If some data could populate automatically after installation, it would be beneficial.

What other advice do I have?

For a beginner, Automation Anywhere is a great tool. I have learned UiPath also, which comes with complexities but has frameworks for smooth business flow. Automation Anywhere comes with a beginner-friendly interface. The tool can be learned within five to ten days of training. We haven't used the Automation Co-pilot yet. Once a developer knows all the activities in Automation Anywhere, upgrades become less necessary. Integration with WhatsApp business use cases to send messages would be beneficial. Integration with additional systems beyond SAP, WinSCP, and PDF would make it more flexible in business scenarios. Automation Anywhere can contact me in the future regarding questions about this review. I rate this solution 9 out of 10.

Boosts productivity and has numerous AI-related enhancements

  • August 01, 2025
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

The use cases for Automation Anywhere are industry-agnostic and sector-agnostic, allowing for automation of processes that involve human interaction, mundane tasks, and large volumes. With the help of AI, we can now automate a lot of unstructured data, which wasn't possible before, so it's not limited to any specific sector or process. Whether it's HR, marketing, sales, operations, or engineering design, any of those can be considered for automation.

How has it helped my organization?

The main benefits of Automation Anywhere include improved operational efficiency, enhanced productivity savings, increased cost savings, new revenue streams, and a reduction in regulatory human errors. These are some of the major benefits it provides. For example, if a human takes one hour to perform a transaction that involves navigating through multiple systems and inputting data, Automation Anywhere can reduce that time significantly. The bot can complete the task in about 20 minutes, saving roughly 40 minutes per transaction, which translates to a 60%-66% time saving, enhancing overall productivity and cost efficiency.

What is most valuable?

They have introduced numerous AI-related enhancements in their product, making them the first among their competitors to develop a reasoning engine. Their PRE reasoning engine is particularly noteworthy, and they have quickly integrated Generative AI into their document automation product. Additionally, they offer a variety of other AI features and have designed the platform to be cloud-native. The AI features they have implemented stand out; they are indeed leading the pack. This strategy is impressive and effectively empowers their product with a wide range of AI capabilities, which are increasingly important in today’s tech landscape, especially with the rise of AI, Generative AI, and Agentic AI.

Automation Anywhere also provides Agentic AI-related APIs and is currently testing Agentic process automation in its early stages. In terms of product capabilities and AI integration, I would definitely rate them a ten out of ten. They are the fastest to reach this level of advancement compared to others, who seem to be lagging behind. For example, Blue Prism is progressing quite slowly, and while Power Automate has some AI features, they do not match the scale that Automation Anywhere has achieved.

What needs improvement?

Its pricing definitely needs to be more competitive. When licensing costs are high, we cannot use this tool for automation. Instead, we might opt for a lower-cost tool like Power Automate which is 50% less expensive.

Power Automate offers very seamless integration with the Microsoft ecosystem, including Azure cloud services and other Microsoft products. In contrast, Automation Anywhere has to rely on external LLMs for integrations. If Automation Anywhere can improve the ease of these integrations and provide them natively within the platform, it would greatly enhance its appeal.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Automation Anywhere for over the last eight years, although not extensively in my current role. In previous journeys, I have used it for around three to four years. Currently, we use Automation Anywhere, but not extensively.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

At this moment, I'm not sure about the stability of Automation Anywhere, but in previous experiences, I faced challenges with stability, which required ticket submissions for support. We encountered several challenges related to platform and technical issues. For instance, sessions would occasionally get disconnected unexpectedly. In those cases, we would raise a ticket with the vendor to get support. However, since we haven't been using the system extensively, we haven't faced many issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

All these automation platforms, including Automation Anywhere, are highly scalable; depending on volume, you can adjust the number of bots, scaling instantaneously in the cloud. For on-prem solutions, one must ensure they have the necessary infrastructure ready for scaling.

While it is easy to scale with Automation Anywhere, I have not experienced extensive scaling in my previous encounters. The maximum number of bots we had was around 20.

How are customer service and support?

I haven't raised many tickets recently to evaluate their technical support, but I know they have a dedicated partner manager. It has been good in my previous experience.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We are also using UiPath, Blue Prism, Power Automate, and the Microsoft stack. Mainly, the license costs of UiPath, Automation Anywhere, and Blue Prism are high, so we use Power Automate and Power Platform heavily.

How was the initial setup?

It is generally easy to deploy. We use Automation Anywhere with both AWS and Azure.

Maintenance is indeed required for Automation Anywhere; you have to follow the vendor's product patches and version upgrades to keep it maintained.

Upgrading Automation Anywhere follows a standard process that they provide detailed instructions for, and we adhere to those guidelines. The upgrade process feels similar to any other software platform; I don't find anything particularly complex or different about it.

There is a separate team for bot maintenance, and if the bots are stable, maintenance needs tend to be low. However, if issues arise, maintenance efforts can significantly increase.

What was our ROI?

The return on investment from Automation Anywhere varies based on the business case and the benefits versus costs involved; for simpler RPA use cases, ROI can typically be achieved within a year.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Pricing needs to be more competitive, both in terms of licenses and overall expenses. This is crucial because many use cases cannot be automated if it isn't cost-effective.

What other advice do I have?

We have not extensively tried Automation Anywhere with business users because they have added a lot of AI features that are difficult for them to understand. We also do not want to encourage business users to create automations that do not comply with regulations, compliance, and best practices, which presents a risk. Therefore, we've only utilized it within the CoE team for now.

For existing developers, the learning curve for Automation Anywhere is easy to pick up. However, for business users, it might take some time, especially if they lack a programming background.

I have heard about the Automation Co-Pilot, and it sounds very powerful and useful. The Co-Pilot can generate code based on a natural language prompt, which is a substantial feature as it can reduce development time by 30%-40%, allowing faster shipment of code to production.

In terms of integration, Automation Anywhere acts as a tool used to develop automation that connects to various systems, such as SAP, Excel, Outlook, and web applications. It doesn't integrate with other solutions directly but helps in automating processes that involve multiple systems. The platform provides capabilities for building various integrations, and that is part of what they sell. Automation Anywhere is fundamentally an automation platform that enables performance across workflows, APIs, business applications, and documents. API integration is possible with Automation Anywhere, but if specific APIs do not already exist, there is no way to create a new API directly within the platform. For that, one needs to create a new API using languages such as Java, Python, or C# before integrating it with Automation Anywhere.

Our organization places high priority on automation and AI. We are using the Microsoft ecosystem for many of our use cases.

For organizations considering Automation Anywhere, I advise that if you are focusing on AI features such as Generative AI or agentic process automation, it's a great choice as they are front runners in incorporating these functionalities early on. However, if licensing costs are a concern, the Microsoft stack would be more beneficial.

I would rate Automation Anywhere an eight out of ten.

Achieves seamless integration and data management across systems through robust automation

  • July 31, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

As an RPA developer and RPA champion, I coordinate the implementation of RPA in my company and I also develop the automations. The main reason or main functionality that I am using Automation Anywhere is to integrate and collect data between systems, such as gathering data from one system and collecting data from another system, making some analysis, and having some results out of that. This is the main purpose or main use case in general for what we are doing here with this software. The specific challenge that we are trying to solve with implementing Automation Anywhere in our environment is to achieve better integration with SAP. Our ERP system is SAP, and this is quite a closed system, so to get any data or input any data, the only possibility is to use the user interface, or it is very difficult to do it in any other way. Therefore, Automation Anywhere acts as a simulator of a user, helping a lot with getting the data in time or uploading the data in a proper and easy manner. So for repetitive tasks related to SAP, this is the key functionality that we are using; integration with SAP.

What is most valuable?

The best features in Automation Anywhere that I really appreciate are found in the basic module for pure RPA, such as the recorder function, which helps in making automation even easier. No coding is required; you are just doing things, and the recorder records your movements and actions, creating the code out of that. This makes preparing RPAs faster. Another significant aspect is Automation Anywhere University's e-learning materials, now called Pathfinder, which enhances this learning curve significantly. The software's easy-to-understand interface is its biggest benefit, aiding rapid learning and automation creation. Moreover, the integration capabilities with databases and external web portals are well-developed, enabling seamless data management and exchange, whether it involves Microsoft SQL or MySQL databases or Microsoft Excel for reporting. Despite not having significant experience with other RPA platforms, I assess these features positively.

What needs improvement?

Regarding what I would to see improved or enhanced in Automation Anywhere, it's difficult to judge if the problems we are facing are truly RPA related or related to other systems that we cooperate with. The main issue is to have better resilience of the whole system. If we have 95% success during the bot runs, it costs a lot of time to debug and find the errors or to rerun the bots. So constantly working on the resilience of the bots, whatever it may be, will help. One thing I would to see included in the next releases of Automation Anywhere is a more clear overview of when we have gaps in our automation scheduling. Currently, when we are scheduling our automations, and we have historical data of our runs, there is no clear overview of when we have space in time to schedule another automation. So having functionality that shows in one clear picture where we have gaps to run additional automations would be beneficial.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Automation Anywhere for already four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would evaluate the stability of Automation Anywhere as generally stable, but there are some issues. It's always difficult to judge what the root cause is; it may be the software, the hardware, or other software. But in general, I would say it's stable in 90% of the cases.

How are customer service and support?

It is difficult for me to rate the technical support I received because I was not fully involved; it was resolved between our IT and this support. I was just waiting for the results and trying to support. I would rate it a seven.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Although I didn't directly participate in the evaluation process when choosing Automation Anywhere, I know it was chosen because of its full no-code approach. Unlike other automation tools or systems, there is sometimes a necessity to know coding, making them low-code platforms. Here, we have a totally no-code solution, making it much friendlier for individuals with no IT background. I have previously used a different RPA just once or twice; I had the opportunity to use Power Automate, but it was just one or two hours of trials and nothing more. So basically, I have no significant experience and cannot justify which is better or worse.

How was the initial setup?

For me at the very beginning when I started working with that, the technical setup was extremely complicated and extremely problematic, and we spent half a year to really make the software work. At that time, we were not happy with the support of Automation Anywhere. But now if everything is already set up, it's quite easy to learn how to do it and to make easy automations quite fast.

What was our ROI?

I have not calculated ROI, the return on investment from Automation Anywhere; we don't have such a complex analysis. We are calculating for single automations, but we don't have complex ones.

What other advice do I have?

The main benefits I see from using Automation Anywhere, in terms of time-saving, cost-saving, and resource-saving, is the release of resources from high-paid and high-skilled specialists for more creative tasks. My recommendation for other organizations considering Automation Anywhere for their environment is based on my experience; it is always good to analyze the process first, then optimize this process, and after that, make automation of that. Otherwise, without proper analysis of the process, you end up digitalizing a non-optimal process, making automation challenging. So first analyze the process, optimize it, and then try to automate it; otherwise, you will have an automated process that is still not good. I rate Automation Anywhere nine out of ten.

User-friendly interface provides ease in automating financial tasks with comprehensive learning resources

  • July 29, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I'm currently using Automation Anywhere for automating Excel, database, and document automation. The use cases are mostly related to the accounts and finance department.

What is most valuable?

The infrastructure that Automation Anywhere has created is really simple. Compared to other tools such as Power Automate, it is more user-friendly and faster. The benefits of Automation Anywhere, along with my experience automating with Python, make it easier to automate Excel and UI-based automation tasks.

What needs improvement?

They can provide more features for desktop application automation. They don't have extensive capabilities for automating desktop applications. While we can automate desktop applications using paths, it is not very accurate. I haven't used AARI extensively, but I have created one or two processes that have AARI infrastructure. I have used forms for those processes.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Automation Anywhere for 4.5 years.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Besides Automation Anywhere, I have used Power Automate. The cost of Power Automate is significantly lower compared to Automation Anywhere, which is one advantage. However, regarding proficiency and overall functionality, Automation Anywhere is much better.

How was the initial setup?

The setup process in Automation Anywhere is really easy. While I haven't worked extensively on moving from development to production in Power Automate, with Automation Anywhere, we just need to import the bot and export it into the production environment. The process typically takes 10 to 15 minutes.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

While I don't know the exact figures, Automation Anywhere is approximately 10 times more expensive than Power Automate, possibly even more. I have a general idea of the cost for one runner machine, but I don't have exact information about their charging structure.

What other advice do I have?

They have comprehensive videos related to each action in Automation Anywhere. They have created entire videos and classes on the Automation Anywhere University website, which serves as a direct learning resource. Performance with Automation Anywhere is really good and much better than Power Automate. On a scale of 1-10, I rate Automation Anywhere an 8.

Cloud-based automation has streamlined data processing and delivery

  • July 28, 2025
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

My use cases for it are twofold: we are automation partners, so we use it for customer delivery, and we also use it internally for many data entry tasks and intelligent processing of information, including PDF contracts and so forth.

How has it helped my organization?

We saw the benefits conceptually with the RPA, knowing it should work, however, we realized how helpful it is after about a year when we had a few smaller projects internally. We found that it works effectively for us and is trouble-free, though we occasionally need to tweak it due to operating system updates.

What is most valuable?

One of the things I appreciate the most about Automation Anywhere is that it's in the cloud, so when we are on-site on a project, we collect a lot of data, hand it to this bot, and it runs the function. By the time we reach our destination, whether we move from San Francisco to New York, it's equivalent to 20 people's work in six hours, utilizing quite a few attended or unattended bots.

What needs improvement?

The licensing model could be a lot less complex, mainly due to their different structures, which are not straightforward. The learning curve, especially for advanced automation, is complex and often requires a software developer, and sometimes there is less documentation, making it harder to navigate.

The challenge comes when we need to move data, such as when we build something in Excel and transfer it to Google Sheets, as the code changes, however, we aim for efficiency, and that advanced automation can be somewhat lackluster.

Our experience with Automation Co-pilot is mixed; it's still in its nascency and not as mature as projected. It relies on the underlying platform, meaning it works fairly on Windows 11. That said, has issues when using it on AWS Cloud, leading to confusion since there are many moving parts with the co-pilot that make troubleshooting challenging.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Automation Anywhere since 2016 and am still using it currently.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

With the newer version, stability is questionable, particularly when a lot of heavy lifting is needed. Still, performance is solid once optimized since the RPA completes its tasks effectively.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scalability entirely depends on how you design the process automation; it can be run concurrently or in a single-threaded manner, and AI tools can handle all forms of threaded processes without any issues.

How are customer service and support?

I have contacted their technical support. The quality of support is good; they go the extra mile to address problems. Speed-wise, it varies since most staff operates from India. I've been impressed with their response times, sometimes within three to four hours, suitable for customers in the Pacific time zone, and I find the US staff to be very good. I would rate the support a seven out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Business users find Automation Anywhere manageable to use; since 2016, it has evolved from an engineering tool filled with tech jargon until around mid-2020 to a platform that is much more business-friendly and closer to the customer's mindset, though in comparison to UiPath, there's still progress to be made since it fundamentally operates an engineering company.

The biggest differences from UiPath lie in the designer; UiPath has an easier designer to start with, almost straightforward for selling. However, as you consume UiPath, the costs can add up, while Automation Anywhere does not articulate long-term efficiency. From a product design perspective, Automation Anywhere presents more complexity, especially regarding communication and the number of moving parts.

How was the initial setup?

The initial deployment is not difficult at all for someone doing it for the first time.

Usually, one person or maybe two is required for deployment; while the automation can be built by one person, working with an internal application Microsoft CE or HubSpot through API calls typically requires at least two people to integrate effectively.

Maintenance is not required on the end-user's part, though if it is an attended setup, some monitoring may be necessary because VMs can become unavailable if used for other reasons, leading to a single-threaded heavy load process that runs for an hour but sits idle the remaining 23 hours.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Automation Anywhere an eight out of ten overall.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Automation significantly reduces repetitive tasks with room to improve accuracy in document processing

  • July 23, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use Automation Anywhere mostly for automating processes and document processing. The challenges I was trying to solve by implementing Automation Anywhere involved many processes where business users perform repetitive tasks daily, such as checking PO creation or invoice validation. There are multiple processes that they have to repeatedly check each day, weekly, or monthly, which becomes more of a headache for them. We automated these processes so they will be processed automatically, and users will get the end result for validation. It is basically time-saving for them. Some of the processes we automate are due to time constraints. There are many processes where the business required a huge team to implement and process all the invoices, which this bot accomplishes in just a few minutes or hours instead of taking weeks with manual processing.

What is most valuable?

The best features of Automation Anywhere are the Task Bot and flow managing, which are easy to use. Many things have been newly introduced through continuous updating of the Automation Anywhere tool. They're providing new actions that help to automate in a much better way. The time savings for users is approximately 6 to 10%.

What needs improvement?

IQ Bot has been changed and enhanced for Automation Anywhere, but the accuracy is still not optimal. They should enhance their document processing capabilities. The Tesseract OCR engine should be significantly enhanced. While IQ Bot has been improved, it still lacks accuracy. This is why most clients opt for third-party document extraction instead of using the built-in Automation Anywhere features.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Automation Anywhere since 2019, which is approximately six-plus years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Regarding stability, I would rate it as eight out of ten, indicating it is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Regarding scalability, I would rate it as nine out of ten, indicating it is highly scalable.

How are customer service and support?

I would rate Automation Anywhere support as eight out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

While I don't know much about other tools, I have basic knowledge of UiPath and Blue Prism. Currently, Automation Anywhere is good, but they need to examine their selling points. UiPath is advancing with more openings and automation projects, possibly due to costing, licensing, and usability factors.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

For pricing of Automation Anywhere, I would rate it as six out of ten.

What other advice do I have?

I haven't used Automation Co-pilot. Thousands of users are using Automation Anywhere. My relationship with Automation Anywhere is as a developer who creates solutions and provides training for the bot. The company maintains the partnership while I work as a developer. I mostly receive notifications about events. Overall rating for Automation Anywhere is 7.5 out of 10.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

Interface simplicity enables quick bot development for non-tech users

  • July 18, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My use cases involve working as an employee and RPA consultant. We use Automation Anywhere to solve the problems of businesses. They decide their problem, and then we automate accordingly, and that's what we are doing.

What is most valuable?

The feature I appreciate the most about Automation Anywhere is the interface. I come from a non-tech background. Automation Anywhere was easy for me to understand, and I started developing bots very quickly. The actions in Automation Anywhere were also nice and easy for me to understand and use. It is easy for business users who don't have any technical skills to learn how to use Automation Anywhere.

Regarding the learning curve of Automation Anywhere, I started learning it with the help of Automation Anywhere University and also the bot game provided by Pathfinder. It took me around one to one and a half months to learn everything and started implementing it, which helped me become permanent in the company.

What needs improvement?

I find it very good and nice to use. However, recently, I had a problem using the IQ Bot processor for text extraction. When I used this tool in the bot, it did not work. I got this issue when using the document automation learning instance. If I run the IQ Bot preprocessor first and then use document automation, it fails to give any output. We contacted Automation Anywhere for help, but we had to find another solution, so this is an area for improvement in the Automation Anywhere platform.

I had problems while using the OCR and document information together. If I use OCR and document information separately in another bot, they work perfectly, but if I combine them and run them in the same bot, it does not run.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Automation Anywhere for more than nine months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Regarding performance and stability, I don't find any errors; it's quite good. We don't have to worry about the performance of the automation; it works quite well for me.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

When it comes to scalability, I would give it ten out of ten. It's easy to call the bot in the processing tasks, and the input-output variable is also very easy to use. You just need to understand it first, and then it's very easy to call the bot inside the bot.

How are customer service and support?

I contacted technical support once when I had issues with the OCR and document automation part. I reached out for technical help from Automation Anywhere, but the solution provided was not clear, so we had to use an alternate way to automate those tasks. I would rate their technical support an eight out of ten. I deduct two points because the solution was not provided.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

For automating tasks, I have only used Automation Anywhere. In Automation Anywhere, I have connected other applications such as PostgreSQL and Python.

How was the initial setup?

The deployment is very easy for me.

It takes only two to three minutes to deploy a bot from the dev environment to the UAT and then to the prod environment. It's quite easy to develop the bot.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I am not aware of the pricing, but I have heard that it's very costly.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Automation Anywhere a nine out of ten. I'm only using Automation Anywhere. I'm learning it, and it's very easy for me to learn.

What is our primary use case?

Currently, I'm working as a RPA developer in India. We are using Automation Anywhere to automate the repeated tasks. We have clients who provide a business problem. After the feasibility study, we design a solution architecture, and based on that, we develop the bot. For the development, we use Automation Anywhere along with many other tools such as Python, Excel scripting, and there are many more, all aimed at solving the business problem and making the end-to-end automation that our client needs.

What is most valuable?

Automation Anywhere is the best among all other automation tools available in the market such as Power Automate and UiPath. The best thing about Automation Anywhere is its simplicity and user-friendly interface, which makes it easy to create bots because they have only three sections: variables, actions, and triggers. We just set the actions and implement them in the bot.

Additionally, they provide learning courses and the 'bot game,' which is an engaging way to experience real-world and challenging problems that enhance our skills.

Furthermore, Automation Anywhere boasts a broader community compared to others, with many people discussing it online and helping solve problems. Lastly, Automation Anywhere is low-code, allowing us to feel we are doing programming while solving problems.

What needs improvement?

The license cost is quite expensive compared to other tools available in the market such as Power Automate, which offers better features at a lower license cost. The main disadvantage of Automation Anywhere is its high cost.

Another issue is that it is solely dependent on the Windows operating system, and since I am using Linux, I faced difficulties while learning Automation Anywhere because it only supports Windows environments. Comparatively, competitors such as UiPath provide cloud-based solutions that Linux users can access, making this another drawback.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Automation Anywhere for almost one year in my career.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Automation Anywhere has proven to be very stable. The instance currently running in the production environment operates almost 24 hours a day, demonstrating very good stability. I would rate its stability a nine out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

As far as scalability is concerned, I would give it five out of ten because there are multiple programming languages and tools available, and if you try to implement and integrate them in your bot, you may find limitations within Automation Anywhere. For instance, while running a Python script, I encountered difficulties passing multiple arguments in a single call, which reflects a lack of scalability features.

How are customer service and support?

I have contacted customer support for Automation Anywhere, and while their responsiveness is good, the reliability is lacking. We faced an issue where we couldn't run OCR and document automation in the same bot. The customer support team was quick to respond, but they were unable to resolve the problem we encountered during development, forcing us to seek alternative solutions. So, while customer support is responsive, it is not always effective in solving issues.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

How was the initial setup?

The deployment of Automation Anywhere is very easy.

We have three environments: development, testing, and production. We build the bot in the development environment and after building, exporting the bot is simple—just a few clicks to download the zip file. You can import that file into any other environment, including production, by clicking on the import button, and your bot is deployed. You can also schedule and run the bot in both attended and unattended modes, which adds to its ease of deployment.

Automation Anywhere does require maintenance on my end. The platform provides updates and package management. For instance, for browser automation, if you are using browser package version 1.1, you must use the same version across all environments; otherwise, the bot won't run. While it's possible to download and deploy the bot without adhering to package updates for production setup, managing package versions can still require attention. Thus, maintenance can be neither too simple nor too difficult, but it is necessary when developing with Automation Anywhere.

What other advice do I have?

The Automation Anywhere interface is very simple to use as compared to others in the market. Non-technical users can understand Automation Anywhere easily because it is easy to grasp, but if a non-technical person tries to develop or read the code to understand the business problem, it might be hard. For example, we provide a process definition document (PDD) to non-technical persons such as business analysts who may have a less technical background. This document includes a high-level overview of the process, allowing them to understand the code better. Thus, it still requires some technical knowledge to fully grasp the business problems when using Automation Anywhere.

I have not used the Co-Pilot feature explicitly, but I am currently working on a project developing an end-to-end identity automation bot, where we utilize multiple documents totaling around five thousand. In this project, we have integrated Gemini and Azure OpenAI as LLM models through APIs or by downloading and fine-tuning the models according to our use cases, which we deploy using Automation Anywhere.

I would rate Automation Anywhere an eight out of ten.
