Automation Anywhere - a solid tool!
What do you like best about the product?
I think that the userface and user friendly platform made a large difference for me in using the tool. I am slow to the uptake in terms of software and understanding certain platforms and this made it easy to learn right off the bat.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there are things with software that take me getting used to, one of those things is just general sign on, getting to know the platform, and getting fast at using it so that took me a little time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automation Anywhere is an excellent platform which creates Bots that performs all types of tasks that reduces manual efforts, which has saved time for us for sure.
Intelligent Tool for Roboatic Automation Process
What do you like best about the product?
1. Code for bots is managed by the control room. so it becomes facile to share the code across the system by the source control in automation anywhere.
2. it gives complete analytics of automation anywhere bot. User can see how many bots are runs and how many bots failed/passed are controlled on the Dashboard.
2. it gives complete analytics of automation anywhere bot. User can see how many bots are runs and how many bots failed/passed are controlled on the Dashboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
Debugging the code is vastly inconvenient and fewer activates are available for Excel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Created task bots with by using automation anywhere and the bot is successfully working properly and maintenance of bot can be managed easily.
2. Reduces human resource and manual works can be done by the bots without any errors.
2. Reduces human resource and manual works can be done by the bots without any errors.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The best tool for creating the bots and reduces the manual task and bots can work without any errors.
AA first impressions
What do you like best about the product?
Allows high level abstraction of unnecessary tasks, and provides a helpful framework to accomplish programming-like tasks without being a skilled developer.
What do you dislike about the product?
My biggest frustration (Version 10.5.0) is that it doesn't function well with my laptop's native screen resolution. When I change Windows scale and layout to accommodate the bot, all of my other applications become small and text becomes hard to read. The only workaround that I'm aware of is to change to a non-native screen resolution which makes everything appear blurry.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automation Anywhere shows a lot of promise in being able to interact with legacy applications that may not have APIs
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider your use cases. If your tech team is using modern applications with robust APIs, Automation Anywhere may not be the tool for the job. If you're trying to legacy applications with scant documentation, AA shows a lot of promise. It could also be handy for "small batch jobs" that may not be important enough to get a lot of tech resources thrown at them, but could be solved by individual contributors with AA in their back pocket.
Automation Anywhere was very informative waking through their software and RPA.
What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciated the tutorials online that were free that we were able to do in advance. This helped us to dive right into the tutorials. Also, the people working the event were very knowledgeable.
What do you dislike about the product?
I was trying to evaluate which use cases this would be better for over using a programming language like Python and would have liked to see some discussion on this.I also would have liked a more in depth tool to identify which function within the software to use for each scenario. Or a description of each of them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were trying to pull data from multiple PDFs and then from there take that data to put into an excel sheet to prepare a Journal Entry. The benefit would be not having to manually look for the numbers and open up each PDF.
AA Bot-a-thon Review
What do you like best about the product?
The best part of AA is the ease of use for non-programmers. Coming in with very limited programming skills wasn't a huge hindrance - as long as you understand the rules and the tools within the program and your process doesn't require human decision you are able to get a bot up and running.
What do you dislike about the product?
The major downside to AA is that when you are recording there is often a long delay and it takes multiple attempts to get the recording to work the way it should, if at all. It requires more creativity to circumnavigate the process to get the same end result than I would like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm using AA to help automate the tedious processes that are simple and not value-adding to free up time and resources for other value-adding tasks.
Lots of potential, still needs some work
What do you like best about the product?
The recording tools were easy to figure out. The software has a lot of potential to be great. Easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
The application often doesn't work as planned. Keystrokes recording doesn't work as well as it intends to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automating GL pulls from Peoplesoft. This can save my department alot of time by taking away mundane processes. The application was also slow and can be buggy at times.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have a lot of repeating processes that can be automated, Automation may be the application for you.
First experience with Automation Anywhere
What do you like best about the product?
easy sign on and easy to learn how to create new bot. Getting started is straight forward.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a lot of functions within the software. The learning curve is high. For users without coding background it takes a while to get use to some of the languages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm trying to automate the email notification step after a task has been signed so the users don't have to separately open his/her email to draft an email every single time a task is signed off. AA can do all the repetitive steps.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
need to consider the ease of use for everyday user
Great experience to learn a new automation tool
What do you like best about the product?
it provided me a new perspective of automation. a new way of thinking. a new experience for me with coding and this automation tool
What do you dislike about the product?
it is challenging to get the code written without errors, still not super user friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Trying to automate a monthly manual process. Can auto mate a few manual steps
Designed for ease of use for non-technical business users
What do you like best about the product?
It's possible to customize different actions using insert keystrokes, mouse click, and other stuff. Has Excel and CSV support. For technical users there is also a variety of code-related aspects allowing the user to select HTML tags using ID or class or xpath or any other available tags. Being able to use xpath is super convenient for badly designed webpages that don't denote object differences with id, class, or some other unique identifier.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not as optimized for chrome development compared to IE. Object cloning is difficult when selecting certain tags since they're either enclosed or enclosing something else. CSV is more difficult to work with than Excel. The AI machine learning to read written text is also subpar compared to Instabase or Adobe. Bots tend to be unstable as well and break when running on different machines or when system changes occur such as screen resolution changes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scraping screenshots after logging into an internal system to extract user data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
When deciding to use Automation Anywhere, make sure you are using the latest version (AA 2019) since it is incompatible with past versions and you will have to rebuild the bot. Be sure to take some training as well to learn about the large variety of features and best practices in development. There are many ways to implement the same thing but some are definitely better and make for easier maintenance than others.
Intellectual Experience - could be helpful if you understand what your're doing
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the functionality of the bot - 572 functions which gives you a good chance to be able to automate your process and it is relatively accessible for people who don't have strong coding or programming backgrounds. It makes automation feel accessible.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the basic functions that you think you should be able to access, you don't have. IE: date comparisons are only available in the megabot version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am doing some simple table scraping from the internet. It will eventually save me some time but the built was more complicated than I expected. Some of it requires understanding on how to get around certain limitations but the staff was incredibly helpful so I would recommend this product more if you have their staff help with the initial build.
