Easy and inexpensive cloud backup.

  • August 06, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
With a simple setup, I can get cloud data backup.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can only set the backup cycle, not the acquisition time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are backing up our SharePoint online data. inSync is in the cloud, so it didn't take long for us to start backing up after receiving the backup requirements.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is not suitable for backing up business systems because it cannot take static point backups.
However, it is ideal for easy backup of file servers.

What do you like best about the product?
Helpful in retrieving/moving files when lost or when going to a new pc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, the install doesn't work at first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having a solid back tool for those who save files to their hard drives still instead of the cloud. It has proven to be valuable for clients when changing laptops to get a newer one as well as cases where laptops have been stolen.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Overall, it's a user friendly and well functioning tool.

Druva inSync is a fantstic product

  • August 05, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Druva inSync is an excellent product with great support. We have been using it for a few years now after we had a run-in with some Ransomware, and this product has helped out immensely with daily backups for all our users. Before getting Druva, we did not have a backup solution for our users' Desktops and Laptops which would cause us many issues if we had a system go down with a hard drive that was not recoverable. Druva Support was excellent with support in getting this product set up in our environment. They also assisted in training our IT Department in how to use it and how to get it installed on any new devices for future expansion. Now all of our users have the comfort of knowing all their data is backed up securely, and they will not have to worry about losing anything. They have also given great support after the initial installation. Whenever we have had issues, we have always had very reliable and quick assistance from their support team. The cost of the product is low compared to some others and does not break the bank. Basically, Druva is an amazing product that helps save us time. I highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a great product that is affordable and easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I cannot think of anything we dislike about the product. It has always worked great, and anytime we had issues, we had a quick response from support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Druva, we did not have a user-based backup solution, so we were out of luck with any data corruption or hardware failures. Now all users have the comfort of knowing their data is backed up daily, and they do not have to worry about losing important data. We also got hit with a pretty nasty Randsomeware virus a few years back that caused some users to lose data and if had Druva at the time, we would have had much less of a headache.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a great product that is affordable and easy to use to assist you with any type of backup, I highly suggest this product.

Amazing Cloud Back Up Solution

  • July 02, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Druva inSync provides excellent and reliable data backups; it retains data in compliance with every data protection act policy of each region.
Druva inSync's admin console is very flexible in terms of creating storage quota, the storage location for a specific region as well as allowing administrators to either choose a cloud-based or server end-point storage location.
What do you dislike about the product?
Druva is not meant for the average consumer who is looking for a back up solution because it is very costly in pricing.
It seemingly supports AWS cloud services quite well but not other cloud services that much.
Another drawback is that users can uninstall the Druva inSync application without the administrators permission which could lead to data not being back up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Druva inSync assists my organization in terms of backing up data autonomously without user/administrator intervention. A user that has lost a document/file can quickly retrieve that item by opening the client in their machine and then restoring the file(s) .

The flexibility of the Druva inSync administrator console allows me to allocate different quotas to various regions at ease.

Great solution, great company

We recently switched over to Druva from another backup provider in favor of the native AWS capabilities, ease of use, and great account and customer support. The product has been tremendous in our ability to manage multiple environments for multiple customers!

Druva Insync is very reliable and solid performer for device and 365 backups

  • May 27, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Alerts , governance, and sinlge pane of glass management of device backups and 365
What do you dislike about the product?
A bit awkward to install on client devices for client backups, otherwise, once its complete it works well.

365 backups require policy and group profile for mail users to be added to a backup
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Benefits are numerous, we consolidated our backups and improved cost performance and backup reliability on endpoints. Mailbox backups permits us governance control without additional license from Microsoft , where legal hold requires an E3, this does not.

What do you like best about the product?
For the most part, you can pushout the Druva (inSync) client silently via GPO and after the initial setup, you can "set it and forget it."

There were other things we liked... but those features are now behind a paywall and basic features (e.g. downloading your large backups via Druva console) are capped.
What do you dislike about the product?
- You will not get what you pay for if you try. If you use most of what your package/agreement offers and Druva management decides that your account isn't making them money (their words), "the renewal may be significantly different than you expect" (their words again).

- There is about a 2 GB backup download limit via the Druva console. Yes... the backups you pay for are pretty much stuck. Doing a restore to another device may work, but I've had backups that have completed successfully not allow me to view or restore. Need to download your backups that are larger than 2 GB? Well... you'll need the Legal Hold (eDiscovery) package for every user/seat. I think the price is an additional $10 per seat

- I have laptops that have InSync installed but aren't backing up (they should be every 5 minutes). Supposedly it doesn't play too well with Windows Defender.

- PST backup downloads were broken for a time. It takes a long time to generate PST files.

- We have many minor issues, but support has done what they could from their side. I just wish I didn't need to worry about the backups not happening.

- We've had about 5 account reps. We find out about the new rep only when we reach out to Druva for issues. We have been promised a no-cost resolution to our 2 GB download limit/cap, the account rep leaves Druva, and the new account rep says that our account isn't making them money and that we're not getting anything for free.

FYI: SHI has been pushing Druva on us hard. They wanted us to also use Druva for our VMware backups and server backups.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our need was to have silent user (endpoint) backups (when at work or home) and O365 backups in the event that emails or files are deleted. Only Druva had the features we needed to accomplish this. Other solutions require the customer to provide their own cloud. Druva does it all for us.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You may need to up your backup storage capacity. We had to bring down the client CPU usage limit.
