Advanced email defense has reduced phishing risk and now saves our team many hours each week

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Perception Point Advanced Email Security is proactive defense against advanced threats, particularly phishing, zero-day attacks, and malware that a standard filter might miss. I rely on the deep analysis capabilities to protect our users.

When we receive mail that contains a malicious attachment, the Perception Point Advanced Email Security analysis helps us significantly.

What is most valuable?

The best features Perception Point Advanced Email Security offers are its multi-layer dynamic scanning and anti-evasion technology.

The multi-layer dynamic scanning and activation technology have helped me significantly. When we receive a malicious email, the multi-layer dynamic scanning is an extra capability that Defender does not have, giving us better results in some cases.

Perception Point Advanced Email Security has positively impacted my organization by reducing risk, improving operational efficiency, and creating a better end-user experience.

Operational efficiency improves because the platform is highly effective and contains threats automatically, resulting in a very low false positive rate. Our security operation center team spends far less time on triage and manual investigation of routine email alerts. For a better end-user experience, users are less exposed to harmful emails, which leads to fewer incidents of clicking malicious links.

What needs improvement?

Perception Point Advanced Email Security can be improved by increasing the speed of analysis and delivery. In some cases, we have trouble with multi-factor authentication emails, which take more than a minute to be received. We need to make some changes in the analysis or the code becomes invalid. Additionally, the API documentation could be improved since when I tried to use the API, it was very difficult to find specific endpoints, and not all of the endpoints are public or on the website. I need to write a ticket to customer support to get the endpoint, so if they have it, I do not understand why it is not public.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Perception Point Advanced Email Security for almost two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Perception Point Advanced Email Security is stable approximately ninety-nine percent of the time. There may be some issues, but they are not significant, usually lasting just an hour or something similar.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

There is no problem with Perception Point Advanced Email Security's scalability.

How are customer service and support?

The customer support for Perception Point Advanced Email Security is very good. They help us a lot, and when we create a ticket, they answer us in one or two hours.

I previously used Defender, and I am still using Defender at the same time as Perception Point Advanced Email Security.

What was our ROI?

I am confident that there is a good return on investment with Perception Point Advanced Email Security. For example, in time saved, I am certain that it saves us a lot of time.

I estimate that my team saves approximately eight hours each week because of Perception Point Advanced Email Security.

Before choosing Perception Point Advanced Email Security, we had evaluated other options, specifically Trend Micro Email Security.

Perception Point Advanced Email Security is extremely user-friendly, and I would focus on the advanced threat capabilities because they are so advanced. It is not just a simple spam or malware filter; it deals with real-time sandboxing and anti-malware technology against current targeted threats, which is the difference between Perception Point Advanced Email Security and Defender. I rate Perception Point Advanced Email Security an eight on a scale of one to ten because it is very easy to use, and I prefer it. Compared to Defender, it is completely different. Perception Point Advanced Email Security offers just a few menus with a very simple interface, and that helps a lot. The customer support team is also very good, resolving our problems in just a few hours.

What is most valuable?

Perception Point Advanced Email Security has a correct price point and offers very good email filtering capabilities. Its real-time threat detection feature is better than most.

What needs improvement?

There are always places for improvement, but this needs deeper thought and planning. Integration and end-user interaction can be improved as the current system does not allow end-users to send back information to the platform, unlike Google Workspace or competitive tools like Ironscales.

I have been using Perception Point Advanced Email Security for about five years.

Perception Point Advanced Email Security is very stable.

What is our primary use case?

We use the product to safeguard your organization's email communication from various threats, particularly targeting senior-level employees. The aim is to prevent phishing attempts, spam, and other malicious attacks that often target executives or individuals accessing sensitive information.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is the technical support services. They are doing a notable work. We can easily send requests to resolve issues in case of malicious attacks. Their response time is good. Additionally, the user interface is accessible. Even users from non-technical backgrounds can easily understand the status and nature of emails, whether they're spam, phishing, or malicious. This user-friendliness stands out as a significant positive point.

What needs improvement?

They could provide additional data loss prevention features as we encounter different kinds of attacks in today's scenario. It leads to data losses. It would be beneficial to include such functionality.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Perception Point Advanced Email Security for five months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The product is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The product scalability has been much appreciated. We do not encounter any lag or downtime. It doesn't impact the email flow aspect as well.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We have used Mimecast before. Their user interface was complex and complicated to navigate. During the POC, it was evident that Perception Point could detect and prevent certain malicious emails that Mimecast had missed.

We switched to Perception Point as it has better reviews than other competitors in email security scenarios.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of Perception Point, whether deployed on-premises or in the cloud, was straightforward and efficient. The installation and configuration process took approximately an hour, including onboarding and DNS settings. Compared to other email security solutions, it was a quick setup process, requiring minimal time.

What was our ROI?

The product generates a good return on investment.

What other advice do I have?

Some features related to the user interface need improvement. While the pricing for email security alone remains reasonable, their additional offerings for collaboration apps like Teams, Zoom, and other web security vendors might entail a slightly higher cost.

Our customers use the solution for email security in a gateway. The solution is used to block malicious items hidden inside a document or PDF file. Perception Point Advanced Email Security could also analyze affected links embedded inside PDF documents.

The solution is also used to block the email gateway. Perception Point Advanced Email Security is similar to IRONSCALES.

What needs improvement?

Perception Point Advanced Email Security should make available more use cases.
