UI is easy to use across the business and great customer support
What do you like best about the product?
My favourite part about Sigma is the customer support. They have a live chat with real people who are able to answer your questions as you're building dashboards. Easily saves hours of walking through online documentation and forums aimlessly.
They're also very nimble and update their platform frequently based on feedback from customers.
The platform is very easy to use and adoption across the company has been easy. It's easy for non-developers to build dashboards and it's taken a lot of the workload off of our data engineering and analytics teams.

What do you dislike about the product?
There are a couple of smaller features that exist in other BI platforms. For example, the ability to copy vizualizations between notebooks doesn't exist. If you need a specific viz to be synced up between different notebooks, you need to manually add and update each one as changes are made.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a very small data team and limited experience with data within the organization. Having a tool that "feels" similar to excel has been instrumental in getting employees in the organization to adopt the tool.
Great Embedded Analytics Tool with More Features on the Horizon
What do you like best about the product?
Customer service is top-notch; their chat support is excellent. User-backed embed implementation is quite simple. Creating dashboards is easy and styling options are simple but effective.
What do you dislike about the product?
Coming from Tableau there are some features and functionalities which do not exist - YET. One example would be the ability to create a child element that shows different data based on a value you can click on in a table.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed an economical BI solution that allows us to embed dashboards in OUR client portal where we control the authentication. The embedded solution needed to be easy to implement as developer resources are limited. We have a lot of clients but are starting with a small pilot, so the solution needed to scale accordingly from both a price and performance perspective. Apart from client-facing dashboards, sigma also allows us to create many internal dashboards our team can use without a huge price tag directly in the browser.
Great offering, great potential
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of access. I wish there were more user-level training and modules available for boots-on-the-ground employees.
What do you dislike about the product?
I need certain parts of multiple sheets to be reincorporated into one workbook. There isn't an easy way that I know of to do this for the end user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Previous to Sigma, we had difficulty accessing daily data updates. Sigma has improved upon the time suck that was our last data analytics resource. However, I am excited to see what else Sigma can do for us, especially given I am in account management and want to be able to forecast better.
BI tool of the future
What do you like best about the product?
This tool is intuitive and quick to set up and use. It integrates seamlessly with Snowflake. Role and team-based user management come out of the box, ensuring the right data is in the hands of the right people in our organization. It has also accelerated our client-facing analytics roadmap by months.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I'm hoping to see in the future is integration with GitHub, allowing for better dataset and workbook version control. Today the difference between 'dev' and 'prod' can challenging to manage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sigma is where many users across multiple parts of the organization access their data and answer important questions. It is the place where we track our organization's KPIs. We also perform in-depth analyses in Sigma. It satisfies all our data & analytics needs: cleansed and democratized data, beautiful and impactful dashboards, critical ad-hoc analysis, financial planning and analysis, business intelligence and analytics.
Incredibly Scalable tool that allows for our model calibration to run smoothly
What do you like best about the product?
The speed of going from our model's data output in Snowflake to living in a visualization. Gives our users an instant idea of how our power modeling is going when calibrating.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some features like cross tab filtering and pivot data in worksheets that would make things much easier. For some data manipulation I find myself going into our data warehouse before ingesting into Sigma
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For our business, we have millions of data points from our power models we run. Other BI tools such as PowerBi, Spotfire, etc didn't have the power of Sigma and visualizations often took forever to load/construct. Sigma makes this process much smoother.
Sigma Makes it Easy to Collect and Use Data Easily
What do you like best about the product?
The visualization of information appeals to me. The ability to filter to my immediate needs is intuitive and reasonably easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't seen any downsides yet. When I do get more familiar with the tool, I'll update the company.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Sigma to track and manage our supplier network. We look for weaknesses, reasons for performance highlights and lowlights. We grab actionable information and feedback to the network and other members of the Ops teams.

sometimes the pages load slow but i can chalk that up to internet speeds

expectations mostly we need to make sure product is coming out at the right time

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Sigma is fairly straightforward, it's a pretty standard BI tool that can connect to different warehouses and makes creating reports easy. Our non-data team users like it as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think a lot of new features have been coming out, which is great, but because they didn't have it in the past, my teammates who started using Sigma prior to me joining created hacky solutions to a lot of reports that are not scalable. Also there are still some things that would be great to see - like being able to define metrics or adding column-level security.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sigma is solving our problem, which was having a central place for our reporting for both our data team and non-data teams. It also made creating automated reports to our users very easy.
