Great all around monitoring tools and good customer support
What do you like best about the product?
Datadog provides a multitude of integration to monitor anything you probably need with a simple config. They also offer infrastructure and application monitoring all in one tool for great dash-boarding capabilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
The APM tool is still young and can have some issues. Their development has been great to work with and listens to our concerns when they arise. They are very transparent in what they do and work on via github.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We spend our time actually building meaningful monitoring vs managing a monitoring system. The Watchdog and Anomaly detection have been great additions as well that can be super handy in finding issues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look at using something like terraform to version control your monitors and dashboards. In a large organization it can get out of hand quickly without version control. Also always do a soft warning before an alert.

What do you like best about the product?
At first, Datadog may seem like a complex product, but you can get use to it with practice. When you get to know it enough, it will provide you full control of your system. Their RabbitMQ support is excellent, as it offers good insight into queues. The APIs allow you to interact with the data quickly and effectively and it's definitely this API functionality what makes Datadog one of the best monitoring tools on the market.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think Datadog could improve in some aspects, such as its logging capabilities, that seem weak compared with other similar solutions, like Splunk. This should be simplified, as it’s one of the more frequent processes in Datadog. Also, I wish Datadog could be as dynamic as other monitoring tools, such as Icinga and Prometheus.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Datadog is used in the IT Department, specifically in the DevOps sector, to monitor our machines performance in general and to create dashboards to analyze our system in real-time in case of debug issues. Datadog allows you to easily slice and dice stats on a good-looking dashboard, and we can gather out information from Datadog and use it to monitor our services respectively. Datadog has definitely saved the integrity of our machines and servers.

Datadog is an amazing tool for monitoring systems. If that's what you're looking for in your business, Datadog is definitely for you and it will provide you with the best service for a monitoring solution. Also, price is very good, considering how much it offers and prices of the competition.

The main problem it fixed is performance monitoring our environment without going to different place to see the data. This made it easier to see how data correlated and respond to it.

Datadog is a simple to install and use. It can be used across platform, on premise or cloud. You can monitor everything securely without installing many server because datafog is a SAAS monitoring solution. free version is available also.

can cost a lost for big volume (more than 500 objects). Log retention politics is actually limited to 30 days and you need to ask for more. Price for 30 days is 2.5$ per object.

i was able to monitor and manage all my log, app, performance, even serverless and containers very easyly.

if you are looking to a great monitoring solution for cloud and on premise and you don't have any tool it is a good way because datadog offer support for everything like container, AWs, azure, google, on premise,

The database is secure because with the data logging it keeps me informed of any alerts that may arise with any application program that may be failing and causing potential damage.
The prices are very economical for such a good service they offer, which helps a lot with this software with advanced features and visibility of applications like Java, Python, Go, and others.

I don't feel that I dislike any data record because all the experience I've had with this software has been very good and it has helped me a lot because if I don't understand something, they explain it to me in an easy and simple way.

Alert for any program that does not have its performance at 100% and that may become damaged without realizing it and that it is too late to repair it without losing information.

Datadog as a solution based on the cloud, which works in an idea way the monitoring of implementations in the cloud, with a great set of API and analysis of records, not only it is possible to see the current status of its resources, you can also have data of them, you can always contact the helpdesk, the team works in a very responsible way and will help you find any solution to your problems

The system in the cloud has a fresh and current methodology, but from time to time some frames can not be presented on the open web due to security problems, but it's ok for me

Better solution for monitoring servers and services in the cloud, we could work in a more satisfactory and simple way, Without a doubt we have been able to notice the difference of results with DataDog

I do not have any specific recommendation, Datadog has done a phenomenal job, but if at any time you have a problem I would recommend contacting the assistance service and they will assist you in a very correct way giving you a solution for you

How easy it is to setup. DataDog's documentation along with their support chat make setup a breeze.

Sometimes you'll get a support representative that gives conflicting information. This is easily resolved by starting a new chat.

Watch a couple of youtube videos which run through the features and the ease of use. If you have no monitoring tools, you will not regret getting DataDog.

What do you like best about the product?
Datadog is a tool that can not be absent in any company, of whatever type, where different applications of different types are used, with its powerful tool, you can carry out a continuous monitoring of many programs and applications that are used daily, in a Same place, I must say that the first time I used this wonderful application surprised me, it has an optimal integration and in our university we can monitor almost 90% of the applications that we use from Datadog.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, due to the number of applications that we have integrated to Datadog, there may be certain bugs, or delays in the delivery of information, I have noticed in some cases, delays of up to 20 seconds, I do not understand why this is due When everything is connected to it, there should not be this type of delay in the delivery of information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
By integrating the majority of applications to Datadoog, we can have an optimal monitoring of the different applications that we use in our university, of that we provide the best possible service to all our students, teachers, and all the personnel that make use of our applications, providing them, always the best quality of service, since since before them, they realize a possible problem, thanks to our monitoring tools, we are always one step ahead.
