GitLab is an excellent repository for storage and file uploads including collaboration.
What do you like best about the product?
GitLab is an excellent medium for cloning a repository on a web portal. You can create any number of Project repositories here and control its permissions. The tool serves as an excellent medium for DevOps platform and provides the ability to upload a snippet immediately. The uploaded file(s) can be accessed by any number of individuals within the team and could be modified if needed. GitLab also contains the option to raise and track issues. The CI/CD feature provides features and pipelines, editors, jobs and schedulers to automate the integrations.
What do you dislike about the product?
GitLab features though attractive, are a bit complex to interpret unless trained. After the commit of code, it's tough to comprehend the specific version of the file/code that was committed. More and more often, there are multiple comments that get recorded after every update and the user has a tough time locating the latest version of the code on Git lab. The arrangement of features provided by the tool could have been a bit more arranged and organized for easy comprehension.
Individual file uploads have an upper size limit/threshold beyond which the data content is lost.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GitLab has helped our organization with setting up a viable platform for carrying out DevOps operations. The tool provides ability for the developers to upload their version as soon as they are done. The team lead could review the code when ready. After all the changes for a specific release have been applied, the code could be merged with the main branch for promotion to higher environments. All the different branches, commits, tags and contributors could be individually tracked within the respective repositories.
In my existing project, Gitlab was used to upload the code in development branch. The code was peer reviewed in development, comments were shared on refinements/modifications needed. After the code was confirmed in the development branch, it was merged with the main devops folder using merge feature. These features ensured that the main branch contained only the updated version of the code.
The repositories and projects are secured by password protection and internal encryption. The end to end CI/CD deployments could be managed efficiently by the GitLab features.

What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I'm not too fond of the web UI. For some areas, it's a little bit messy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I manage a lot of projects entirely on GitLab, it solves the problem of using many tools for the same project (like Trello for the board, other git providers for sources, external services for CI/CD pipelines, ...)

An efficient version control system for group work
What do you like best about the product?
I like the templates and version control flow he created for group work. We use it as a team with Github.
What do you dislike about the product?
It offers limited opportunities for free. Sorry for not voluntarily supporting the ecosystem as much as Github. I'm using a macbook pro 2018, it often crashes me during deploy.

Code repository and issue tracking
Perfect DevOps and Repository tool
What do you like best about the product?
This tool provides many more features available in this tool. From a user point of view, below are some best points -
1. Issue Tracking - As we are working in the larger team so to track all issues and details about the problem, we can maintain with the help of this tool and follow them in an appropriate manner.
2. Deployment Pipeline - This is also a perfect feature available in this tool; with the help of this, we can create a deployment pipeline and push /deploy the code on the PROD server with less human intervention.

What do you dislike about the product?
As I am using this tool from last year, some are my observation under this -
1. Delay in the change reflection- when someone pushes the updated code will take some time to reflect.
2. Nonrelevant some error handling message appears in the deployment pipeline.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Initially, we were facing the issue in the continious integration process, and with the help of this tool, we can overcome/solve this issue. Also, issue tracking becomes more effective.

What do you dislike about the product?
I've noticed some bugginess when I pull repos down to my local machine and then push changes I've committed locally.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I manage data warehouse, data visualization, and data science teams. All my teams use GitLab is slightly different ways, but mainly we use GitLab as a code repository and version control system. My organization has a site license for GitLab, so anyone at the organization can be added to the projects or groups they need to see.
