Integrates threat detection for multiple clouds but pricing remains a concern
What is our primary use case?
I work with Palo Alto products, including their firewalls, VM-Series, CM-Series, hardware, and Prisma Cloud by Palo Alto Networks. I recommend Prisma Cloud by Palo Alto Networks primarily for financial services, FSI, and energy companies.
What is most valuable?
The threat detection feature in Prisma Cloud by Palo Alto Networks integrates with cloud-native controls like AWS GuardDuty and similar services on Azure and GCP. It also brings its own threat intelligence from Unit 42 and supports external intel feeds like VirusTotal. Multi-cloud compliance monitoring leads to a normalized view and can reduce workforce requirements.
What needs improvement?
The cost of Prisma Cloud by Palo Alto Networks is too high. I would also appreciate the addition of NLP to reduce the learning curve and make configuring queries more user-friendly.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working with Prisma Cloud by Palo Alto Networks since it was called RedLock in 2019.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is straightforward. Day zero involves cloud integration following an admin guide. Day one involves policy tuning, customization, and configuring compliance policies like GDPR.
What was our ROI?
The ROI is challenging to quantify. While there is tangible reduction in workforce needed, exact cost savings cannot be easily measured.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Pricing and licensing are expensive. There are different experiences with ROI, and exact cost benefits are hard to quantify.
What other advice do I have?
If you have a multi-cloud environment, Prisma Cloud by Palo Alto Networks is essential for reducing costs and normalizing outputs. In a single-cloud, limited setup with good automation, you might not need it. I rate the overall solution at seven to seven and a half.

What do you like best about the product?
I really like how simple and clean the dashboard is. It’s easy to find what you need, even when you have a lot of services to manage. Things that used to take a long time now only take one click. Having everything in one place also makes it easier to spot problems early.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the analysis and reporting could be more flexible. The ready-made dashboards are good for most things, but sometimes, you need to dig a little deeper. It’s not a big problem, but having more options would make it even better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Cortex Cloud for container security, and it has made a big difference. We can find and fix security problems much faster now without slowing everything down. It has saved us a lot of manual work and helped us stay safe while keeping things running smoothly.
Helps teams stay organized, worth the setup effort
What do you like best about the product?
You name the use, and G2 suggestsWhat I like best about Cortex Cloud is how it makes it easy to keep track of all the services my team manages. Instead of digging through different tools, everything is in one place: service health, ownership, and documentation all of it. It saves a lot of time and keeps everyone more organized. I also like how it connects with tools we already use, so it just fits into our workflow without being a hassle. the best and affordable software to implement in your projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I dislike about Cortex Cloud is that it can feel a little overwhelming at first, especially with all the features and customization options. It takes some time to get used to the setup and figure out how to get the most value out of it. A bit more built-in guidance or onboarding help would make the experience smoother for new users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cortex Cloud makes it way easier to keep track of our services and who owns what. It’s saved us a lot of time and headaches, especially when onboarding new team members or fixing issues quickly.
Decent cloud platform with room for improvement
What do you like best about the product?
Cortex Cloud is pretty solid when it comes to accessibility and ease of use. The UI is intuitive, and setting up workflows isn’t overly complicated. It integrates well with other tools, which is a big plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a bit pricey compared to some alternatives, and occasionally, performance slows down under heavy load. Some features feel underdeveloped or lacking customization, and support response times could be better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cortex Cloud helps streamline workflows by centralizing data and processes, reducing the need for manual intervention. The automation features save time, and the real-time collaboration tools improve efficiency, especially for remote teams. Security measures help with compliance and data protection, which is crucial for handling sensitive information. However, occasional slowdowns and pricing concerns remain a factor.
Properly using AI to drive innovation
What do you like best about the product?
Having worked on some in-house AI driven security solutions I can say this gives a very nice turn-key solution. The fact it's a cloud native solution flies pretty well with the upper management and it gives a good user experience for the admins or security folk who have to cover all their bases with anything they need to monitor.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is the price to consider on this product for sure, having it be a cloud-first solution my personal gripes about telemetry and security of our company data come to mind and make me wary of how much is really shared and if the security solution actually makes some things more vulnerable, but that's more of a personal thought. I'd say enterprise pricing is still the biggest barrier to entry for many companies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest benefits we saw were in the lowering of mental overhead and time lost on poring over our code and making sure it's actually cloud ready. It ma
Unexpected experience
What do you like best about the product?
Customer support is very efficient. Custom implementation through the use of the many features they provide. Even tough documentation is not detailed is quite easy to integrate.
What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation is not very detailed. Could provide more info. Pricing a little bit exaggerated, if it would be cheaper would be a great. User interface could be made more user friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Provides a real-time monitoring and very helpful security features such as unauthorized access protection and AI-based analysis to identify potential issues
short fun with our project
What do you like best about the product?
Scalability – It auto-scales beautifully, which means workloads can grow without worrying about provisioning servers
Self-serve ML/AI infrastructure – Teams love how Cortex Cloud makes it easy to deploy machine learning models without needing to manage infrastructure manually.
What do you dislike about the product?
Debugging deployments can be tricky
When something goes wrong, logs and debugging tools can be a bit raw, especially if you’re new to the platform. Some users feel it could benefit from deeper observability or integrated tracing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Teams use Cortex to deploy ML models as REST APIs that respond to live requests—perfect for use cases like:
Recommendation engines
Fraud detection
Personalization
NLP/chatbots
Computer vision applications
Complexity simplified
What do you like best about the product?
Despite being very complex product, issue analysis and dependency mapping is very simple, thus reducing the labour of manually integrating and implementing multiple custom SDKs.
What do you dislike about the product?
User interface could use some more contrasting colors in dark settings, issues not always being notified by email. We have not yet engaged in any customer support communication, can't comment on that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to identify potential vulnerabilities and weak spots in our system before our QA or (at the worst case) users ever find out. Also shows history of these findings, making it easy to track what part of our product is most impacted by inadequate changes (in regards to security).
