Allows me to work remotely
What do you like best about the product?
It allows me to work remotely. I can securely log into my company portal from anywhere.
What do you dislike about the product?
It logs me out a lot during the day. Also, there are a lot of crashes and it is really slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am working from home.

we used sonic wall in a k12 environment. the ease of deployment was great to get up and running fast

At the time we implemented, we went with a hardware solution. a hosted or cloud solution would have been a better more efficient way to do it
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we previously used filtering rules to block searches and traffic but SonicWall took that upon itself. we were also able to consolidate hardware into one solution
Recommendations to others considering the product:
it's perfect if you need to share management with non admins, since it is easy to use. installation is vete if you have them on the line since they can answer questions as they come
A valid firewall for small and medium enterprises
What do you like best about the product?
It is a product that we purchased for testing for a POC and it turned out to be inexpensive, quite comprehensive, and moreover very stable in operation. The test lasted several months and it was used with various VPNs and for traffic analysis and filtering.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features require a paid license, so not everything is fully available at the time of purchase. However, most of the functionalities are present.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has been evaluated as a potential valid product as an alternative to other CISCO ASA and FORTINET products.

What do you like best about the product?
Sonicwall is a gateway level firewall and very easy to use with customization features
What do you dislike about the product?
I found little mistake that is about, when primary firewall got disconnect automatically start HA module, but have not any notification
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used several WAN inputs to firewall and found a way to delivery via domain users with several Bandwidth and sonicwall groups.
Sonicwall NSV - missing cloud native features
This product works like many other Firewall/VPN/Routers available through AWS marketplace and seems fine for that use. I had specifically looked at this one as Sonicwall advertise the ability to directly pass logs through to cloud watch. Unfortunately this is not the case with this product. Their NSA series (physical hardware) devices can, but there cloud native product NSV, running on the same firmware release does not have the feature available, or it is hidden from where it should be in the Manage-Network settings page. Seems very odd that their AWS native product cannot talk to AWS cloud watch, whereas their Hardware (on Premise) appliances can.
A respectable budget-friendly security/firewall solution
What do you like best about the product?
The SonicWall is a great "all in one" package. It offers robust content filtering, firewall features, security monitoring, virus/spyware blocking, and lots more.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since this is an "All in one" solution, it doesn't have the same granular controls over specific areas compared to dedicated products.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping our network safe and secure. SonicWall has allowed us to do this at a cost we can afford.

SonicWall is a great product for those in small businesses or small education environments.
Nice web interface
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use of the software. Makes it very simple to get through and fix. These provide a firewall for our stores and assist in PCI certification. Very happy with the web interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
The actual hardware. We have had several go bad after a year. They take a long time to replace. The ports seem to go bad first. They do not like change at all. It is an odd thing to me.

Allows us to protect our the PCI integrity of our retail locations.

Make sure you have someone skilled enough to use the more sophisticated elements of the software.

It's easy to set up--I can walk an employee through it over the phone--and it does what it needs to.

It's pretty bare bones, and I would love a little more insight from the back end.

We have a small number of employees that work remotely on occasion, and this allowed them access to our servers at a low cost. And it works with our firewalls.
A decent router and security appliance.

The VPN functionality can be hit or miss at times.
