Comprehensive Data Platform That's Easy to Implement
What do you like best about the product?
This is a comprehensive product—a true data platform—that stands apart from previous solutions. It is very straightforward to implement and is accessible to the market for testing.
What do you dislike about the product?
The migration from the previous product still a problem, there is some issues and others points that you have to live with
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It’s still a highly reliable database and delivers excellent performance, continuing the strong legacy of its predecessor, Caché.
Powerful Out-of-the-Box Components and Effortless Customization
What do you like best about the product?
It works! There are loads of pre-built components that you can use straight out of the box, the data transformations GUI is very simple to use, and if you need to create custom business components, this can be easily done using code. So you can essentially solve all interoperability problems with IRIS.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the documentation for methods can be non-existent. The documentation may just say the method name, with no explanation on what it does. This means that you may have to look at the underlying code to determine what a particular method does. Which can obviously be time consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Enabling different healthcare systems to communicate with one another can make a significant difference. If this connectivity helps reduce the time clinicians spend accessing specific sections of your health record, it means they can devote more attention to you, rather than spending valuable time figuring out how to retrieve your data.
Easy Setup, But High License Costs
What do you like best about the product?
I like InterSystems IRIS because it's speedy and easy to program. The freedom with M, a scripting language, lets you do everything with this database. I also think it's the leading IT platform for health. The initial setup was easy as 1 2 3.
What do you dislike about the product?
License costs are very high. If you want to use it on a website because you love the database - but have to pay for it - while other databases are free.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use InterSystems IRIS as a quick database because of its speed and ease of programming.
High Performance and Effortless Scalability with IRIS
What do you like best about the product?
What I like about IRIS is its high performance and ease of infrastructure scalability.
What do you dislike about the product?
Low popularity and implementation/licensing costs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IRIS performs very well with high data loads, whether for persistence or data integration. This helps me in processes with high data flow, such as data lakes and integrators.
Fast Database Integration for Massive Data Warehouses
What do you like best about the product?
The database performs exceptionally well when it comes to recording processes. We integrate it with other companies to supply data warehouses, and the speed remains impressive, even when handling millions of records.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface for building BPL is rather lacking, and adding specific tools could significantly enhance productivity when developing solutions with BPL.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working with large volumes of data in a data warehouse is extremely fast, and creating views by combining several tables offers a lot of flexibility.
InterSystems IRIS: Powerful Evolution with Outstanding Community Support
What do you like best about the product?
Like the evolution of Caché, InterSystems IRIS has greatly improved with its added tools and the increased possibility of using other languages with it.
The increased use of generative AI, as well as machine learning and analysis, has made it even more effective.
A very positive improvement has also been the growth of the developer community, always ready to help and support, as well as the InterSystems employees themselves. "Support" has become much faster this way.

What do you dislike about the product?
While it's a normal evolution to stop using certain components, I believe that the lack of support for these deprecated items, or a suggestion closer to the current tool, somewhat hinders development for clients who don't update as quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I believe that the possibility of using newer development tools, not restricting ourselves to the more classic and older Caché environment, is emerging.
Seamless Data Management with InterSystems IRIS
What do you like best about the product?
Honestly, what I like most is how simple it makes working with data. I don't have to think too much about whether it's SQL or NoSQL, it just works. It's quick, reliable, and doesn't slow me down when I'm handling real-time stuff. I also love that it connects so easily with other systems, saves a lot of headache when you are trying to get everything talking to each other.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I had to point out something, I'd say getting started can feel a but tricky at first. There's a lot of power in the platform, but it means you spend some time learning your way around. The look and feel of the interface could also be a but more modern. Nothing that's a dealbreaker, but those are the small things that stand out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IRIS eliminates the hassle of managing data scattered across different platforms. I no longer need separate tools for SQL and NoSQL, as everything integrates seamlessly. It also processes live data efficiently, so I don't experience any lags or delays. For me, the greatest advantage is the significant time savings and the simplicity it brings, allowing me to concentrate more on developing my projects rather than constantly troubleshooting data problems.
One of the best
What do you like best about the product?
the practicality of coding, in addition to the integration with different parts of the system with their different purposes, which interconnect in a beautiful way. In a general perspective, the plataform UI is good and easy to understand. Although, sometimes, when there's a need to search for a feature, it's hidden very deep. Fortunately, it is been fixed with the new AI.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unfortunately, Studio is not updated to the present day.

fast and efficient database
What InterSystems IRIS really is
What do you like best about the product?
in my opinion is kind of a beast, its fast a hell compared to other alternatives and it's come to be more dominant when you are going into scaled things up like crunching huge piles of data or running transactions and doing some real-time analytics, its keep going and had good stability features
the additional components like FHIR and HL7 make it really useful for some of missions and play nice Togher without make you go crazy, it's really flexible system and you can choice to store data in all sorts of ways, from SQL to document without being coupled to only one way, the interface is pretty clean and have brilliant documentation, it's easy to use and easy to implement, and for the developers is a really good "framework" like to manage and scale data in daily basis, the integration of IRIS with another frameworks or languages is great, in the latest versions they add the python support and its open the opportunities to even make and run AI models on IRIS platform

What do you dislike about the product?
first things first, the main languages, is not comfortable like a traditionally languages, like Object Script is not something you found as Java or Python in the developers community, but its nice language, had a lot of "cool" ways to do stuff, the documentation is huge and good source for data but it's really easy to get lost in it, IRIS is NOT cheap at all, its serous platform with a price tag to match, and the hardware you need to manage to perform it like it's should is not an affordable one
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Let's keep it simple, we worked on the financial area of the company, to manage an records of all of our clients and all of our database, all the transactions as a growing business with a millions of invoices and transactions and make it really fast to manage is really crazy, like building a dashboard from our simplest data can take it to load a one-hour or two in tadeonal db. but in cache and IRIS its can take 20 seconds, so as a backend for our services its really helping out to be there when the client needed us, like fast analyzing sells, fast dashboards, fast transactions between screens, it's not simple when it's come up to millions of records is not a simple business task.
Bridging Systems with InterSystems IRIS
What do you like best about the product?
What I really like about InterSystems IRIS is how fast and reliable it is. It can handle huge amounts of data and transactions without slowing down. I also love that it’s flexible; you can use SQL, NoSQL, object storage, or even work directly with its unique “globals” all in the same system. The built-in tools for connecting different systems (like HL7 and FHIR in healthcare) are a big win, and having analytics built right in means you can get insights from your data without a lot of extra work. As a developer, I appreciate that I can use different programming languages, ObjectScript, Python, or Java or even mix them depending on what the job needs. And above all, it’s dependable, which is essential for systems that can’t afford downtime.
It is very simple to use and administratively friendly.
The customer support is great often responded within a day.
Based on my frequency of use, it is very reliable and developer-friendly.

What do you dislike about the product?
The main challenge with IRIS is that it takes some time to learn, especially if you’ve never worked with ObjectScript or globals before. Some of the older tools for managing and developing on it feel a bit outdated compared to newer software environments. The licensing can be a bit complicated and may be pricey for smaller projects or startups. The community is helpful but smaller than big open-source platforms, so finding certain answers can take longer. And while the documentation covers a lot, some advanced features could use simpler, real-world examples to make them easier to pick up.
The ease of implementation and Documentation for certain integration scenarios can be complex for beginners
