  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

I use Windows 10 for regular office activities.

What is most valuable?

The user interface is something I'm used to and familiar with.

Regarding features, I am not sure what the most helpful or useful aspects of Windows 10 are, or what makes it particularly special.

What needs improvement?

Performance and slowness are areas that could be improved in Windows 10. Sometimes the system experiences slowdowns.

The only issue I face and can remember is related to performance.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Windows 10 for 10 years.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

The initial setup was not difficult for me as I only needed to install it.

However, it takes a couple of hours to complete the full installation.

How are customer service and support?

I have not contacted Microsoft support and cannot think of any relevant experiences.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have not had the opportunity to work with other operating systems such as Linux.

What other advice do I have?

I am not fully involved in technical work, and I may not be the most qualified person to provide feedback.

Regarding licensing, I am using Windows 10 through my office and am not familiar with the details.

I am not sure about virtual desktop functionality.

The system is not integrated with other tools.

I make use of the Edge browser and Chrome.

Regular updates work fine.

On a scale of 1-10, I rate Windows 10 a 9.

Tool integration has worked well and deployment process remains straightforward

  • June 24, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We have embedded our tool in Windows 10, so we do R&D through that for security integration with BitLocker.

What is most valuable?

We have embedded our tool in Windows 10, so we do R&D through that for security integration with BitLocker.

There is no difficulty in integrating our tool with Windows 10.

What needs improvement?

Windows Teams has been upgraded recently, and the calendar has issues in it. The Teams calendar is experiencing problems, and that is the only issue I personally have.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been working with Windows 10 for the past one year.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

It is quite easy to set up Windows 10, as our tech team looks after this, and since we are an OEM, we have many tech specialists. The deployment and running of tools is not an issue.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have not faced any issues regarding stability or performance; any issues we have are from our end.

How are customer service and support?

The support from Microsoft is lukewarm.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

How was the initial setup?

It is quite easy to set up Windows 10, as our tech team looks after this, and since we are an OEM, we have many tech specialists. The deployment and running of tools is not an issue.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Pricing is an issue, as we have been looking for an AWS service that is cheaper. I have been looking at some other tools, and that will happen in the next month since we have our licenses for this month.

What other advice do I have?

We use Gmail and Outlook a lot, and other than that, we use Drive and nothing else.

We do not work with Cortana voice commands.

You just have to ask for permission. I do not handle all this.

Outlook works for us, and we mainly use Outlook and Google, and it is working well for us.

It is the time thing itself, because we have time-intensive activities, so time zone differences affect us. This is me just trying to frame what my tech team has told me.

On a scale of one to ten, I would rate Windows 10 an eight.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Quick and smooth setup ensures efficient operations

  • June 20, 2025
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

I am working with Aras PLM.

We are using Aras PLM, Windows 10 and Jira.

Teams has very good features.

We are using soft phones.

What is most valuable?

We are using Aras PLM, Windows 10 and Jira.

Teams has very good features.

It is more comfortable and it is widely used everywhere in India. Almost 80-90% of people are using Windows 10.

Microsoft Firewall is activated, but no other edge tools.

What needs improvement?

There is an issue with using Outlook, as you have to acquire a license. The basic version offered by Windows 10 does not allow direct preview of emails, requiring downloads instead. If they could allow email preview in the free version without downloading, it would be beneficial.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with this solution for the last five months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The system is very fast and quick.

How are customer service and support?

I have never needed customer service support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have not used any previous solutions.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have researched Oracle Agile PLM and Aras Innovator on my website, but feedback is not yet available for these solutions. I was wondering about other tools, particularly in the area of testing or test management.

What other advice do I have?

PLM is the main focus.

Aras PLM is a US-based company that can be found through searching.

The company name is spelled A R A S.

I rate this solution 9 out of 10.

Users have recommended the current operating system for office tasks and appreciate the consistent performance

  • May 12, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I am mostly working with Windows 10. I am not working with Linux operating systems such as Ubuntu or Oracle; I primarily use Windows 10 operating systems.I work with Windows 10 only, but I also work with many other Microsoft solutions as well.I have been working with Windows 10 for almost 4-5 years, as I've been on Windows as long as my organization updates the operating systems.I use Windows 10 for my day-to-day office work.I will be honest; Windows 10 as an operating system is something I'm used to, and I've never worked on any other operating system apart from Windows 10, except Linux for a very small period of time. I recommend Windows 10 for all company sizes because it is used across the board, and I don't foresee it being a challenge. Windows 10 is the market leader, while Linux finds its use cases in very specialized roles.

What is most valuable?

Clients prefer LeanIX capabilities, especially around diagramming, because they are super easy. LeanIX is still preferred, but Ardoq is gaining traction.I find Copilot to be a very good and wonderful product. I use Copilot to capture meeting notes and get summaries and bullet points, and it is a wonderful tool.

What needs improvement?

I would improve Windows 10 by having fewer updates and addressing the warnings for restarting laptops when updates are installed automatically at the backend while I'm working. They can probably install updates during nighttime when I'm not working, as Apple does a fantastic job of it.Microsoft can improve their Teams product because everybody uses Teams, and it's very clunky and unfriendly in terms of scrolling back, downloading files, and moving back and forth within the different teams.Improvement is needed in boot time since once it gets dated and more updates come into play, booting time increases, which can be a pain from an end user's perspective. My final rating for Windows 10 is probably nine, as I've given it an eight, but the boot time issue and Teams not being great is a concern for me.I have two points for improvement regarding boot time and Teams.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Windows 10 for almost 4-5 years.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

In general, the initial setup for Windows 10 has been good; no worries or issues there, it takes its own sweet time, and that's okay.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would rate the stability of the product an eight.I have never used Microsoft technical support; I've never used it at all.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

For scalability, I would rate it a nine or ten because performance-wise, Windows 10 has never given me those issues; however, I don't do heavy work with the operating system.

How are customer service and support?

I have never used Microsoft technical support; I've never used it at all.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

In general, the initial setup for Windows 10 has been good; no worries or issues there, it takes its own sweet time, and that's okay.

What other advice do I have?

I don't consider myself an expert on Windows 10; I'm just an end user for the operating system based on my experience.I'm not the right person to ask about Windows 10 security; my friends who are into security and identity management tell me that Windows security is not that good, and I honestly don't know about it.I would recommend Windows 10 to other users without hesitation. My overall rating for Windows 10 is 9 out of 10.

Smooth transitions and responsive support enhance daily workflow

  • April 23, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use Windows 10 as our primary operating system on our workstations. I perform my day-to-day activities using Microsoft Notes, PowerPoint, and Word, which are all part of Windows 10 environment.

What is most valuable?

Windows 10 is very smooth, and I experience no significant issues. The applications open up quickly, and transitions between windows are seamless. PowerPoint, Word, and Notes are essential tools for my day-to-day work.

What needs improvement?

The only issue I have encountered is with Microsoft Teams. It is comparatively slower than other apps and does not open as quickly. The transitions within Teams are not smooth, and call quality in meetings is not great. Due to this, we often use Zoom for meetings.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Windows 10 for around three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability of Windows 10 is excellent, with all applications working very smoothly.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I find Windows 10 to be scalable.

How are customer service and support?

The customer service and support from Microsoft are quite responsive and generally good. I would rate it as 9 to 10.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Pricing and licensing are handled at the enterprise level, and bulk licenses are taken from Microsoft. I am not involved in these activities.

What other advice do I have?

Overall, my experience with Windows 10 is very good, except for Teams. Therefore, I rate it a nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Improved security features with gaming enhancements while supporting various features

  • January 06, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

In my case, I would mostly say it's because of security reasons. At least for the typical use cases that I generally rely on Windows for, there didn't seem to be a noticeable performance difference for me. There's, of course, the overall more polished and streamlined UI, that sort of thing. However, that's more of a minor consideration for me. Mostly, it's about staying up to date with security patches, etcetera.

What is most valuable?

I understand that Windows 11 supports quite a bit of additional features for people who are, for example, into high-end gaming and the features that support that kind of utility.

It's not personally much of a thing for me, however, I've heard about differences between the two operating system versions. To the best of my knowledge, I think Windows 11 brings some AI features for Microsoft Copilot, which probably weren't as integrated into the previous version.

There are the occasional bugs and issues that pop up, yet none are significant enough for me to consider a major update. Overall, it's a smooth experience.

For how long have I used the solution?

At some point, I did use it. That is true.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

There are the occasional bugs and issues that pop up, however, none are significant enough for me to consider a major upgrade at that point or such.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I haven't worked on other tools. Usually, I work with Microsoft PowerPoint or Microsoft Excel.

How was the initial setup?

I would say the setup goes into hours. Somewhere between two to two and a half hours is a good time for the entire installation, having the OS up and installing some basic drivers. That's a safe bet.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

In my case, when I purchased my laptop, it basically had Windows 11 preinstalled as well as one of the latest editions of Microsoft Goop, either 2016 or 2020. So everything came bundled in a single package, and I didn't have to buy it separately.

What other advice do I have?

Windows 11 is most likely the best choice. However, the entire operating system is a bit much. The Microsoft tools I mentioned are basically running on that OS. Not any significant changes, but in my older desktop, the hardware did not support a migration to Windows 11, which is why I had to move to newer hardware.

The overall product rating is eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises

Deployment becomes smooth and performance improves significantly

  • January 06, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is most valuable?

The deployment is seamless and I am familiar with it. The configuration management tools, such as SACM, are effective. Deployment is not particularly difficult for both Windows 10 and 11. The upgrade process has been smooth, and performance has significantly increased, especially in laptops. Even for older laptops, the performance has improved by at least 25%.

What needs improvement?

I do not have notes for improvement.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Windows 11 for the past two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

With newer applications and endpoint agents installed on Windows 10, it was somewhat challenging, however, it was not an issue with Windows itself. The challenges were related to third-party agents and their supportability. Not all agents were easy to install on top of Windows, and we have more than 40 agents.

How are customer service and support?

We are facing some challenges with Windows 11 where a pop-up appears when we enter the password. It asks if we want to change it or continue with the same, which is annoying. We have informed Microsoft, but the issue is still there, and it has been more than three to four months.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Since we procure enterprise licenses with support, it does not make much difference when it comes to support.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Windows 10 eight out of ten.

Provides multitasking features and a user-friendly UI

  • September 09, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

The solution is mostly used by our employees for their daily office work. We use the solution in the IT industry.

What is most valuable?

The solution provides multitasking features. We use Windows 10 because our employees are more familiar with Windows than Linux. Windows 10 is more user-friendly than Linux.

What needs improvement?

The solution's resource usage for the user could be improved. Somehow, we cannot control the usage in the back end. We cannot control what the user has installed in their system. Sometimes, there is a spike in the solution's usage. We are not using the solution's security feature because we got a report from our security team that it is not quite good.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for four to five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We haven’t faced any issues with the solution’s stability.

I rate the solution’s stability an eight out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Around 15 users are using the solution in our organization.

I rate the solution’s scalability an eight out of ten.

How was the initial setup?

The solution’s initial setup is easy. The deployment takes less than one hour.

On a scale from one to ten, where one is difficult and ten is easy, I rate the solution’s initial setup an eight out of ten.

What was our ROI?

The biggest value we get from Windows 10 is its compatibility and user-friendly UI.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution is a bit expensive.

What other advice do I have?

In Windows 10, we have Windows Defender for security. We haven't faced any compatibility issues with Windows 10, and it works normally with our system. I would recommend the solution to other users because most people are familiar with Windows.

Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Hybrid Cloud
