Amazing and easy to use Database
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing I like about it is that it is an open-source database which makes it popular and fast. It has outstanding support from the communities and the oracle itself. It provides support to multiple backend programming languages but I use it with python and node.js. Its UI is amazing and even beginners can learn it quickly. As this database is structured so we need to work with tables and provide a great visualization for those tables.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't think there are many cons of this application as of now but I face some issues while performing big data queries. As if you are working with big data queries and you refresh the page then most of the time query gets a time-out error. That should be fixed and its response time should be better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is really easy to work with MySQL and it saved a lot of time for me while analytics. Moreover, it is easy to use so we don't need to put much effort to teach and guide new interns about how to use it. Its interface helps a lot to analyze and interact with the data without using SQL language which saves a lot of time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a structured Database it is the best. Its UI is amazing and easy to learn.
Good product for SQL connect and review
What do you like best about the product?
Useful tool for connecting to SQL databases and querying and extracting data
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing major .. the GUI can probably be more intuitive
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Help extract data and run complex queries against the database
The scalability and feathers MY sql provide in web development projects.
What do you like best about the product?
It based out of traditional database where we use my sql for performing CRUD ( create, read, update, delete) and managing the data for a web application or many more purposes.it follows the relationship between the tables in side a data base we can fetch easyly using the indexing features.many web applications uses my sql as there backend part for managing the user data because it provides user authentication and validation.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is good for small startup or websites where the traffic is low. When it comes to managing learge amount of data or for data analysis purposes we can't use my sql there because it doesn't support features like partitioning.so we can't use my sql in e-commerce based projects where the traffic is high.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used my sql in portfolio based web application or sports based websites where i have used my sql as my backend part for managing and storing the data and django as my front end part.i have merged the django with my sql for developing websites.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can go for my sql while you can take any freelancing projects and the data traffic is low.
Amazingly simpler DB !
What do you like best about the product?
The best of MySQL I like is that it has the best user interface amongst all. Lot of filters and queries can be used with the existing databases and it also allows to import tables from other third party apps or browser.
What do you dislike about the product?
MySQL is not compatible with android version . One cannot use any database software with Android OS. At times, it asks for public server IP address, when it should ask for a private one. If the users access the public server unknowingly, then there's a chance of losing all the data in those databases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great graphical user interface that includes calcultions and representations such as graphs, functions, trees, etcetra. As structured query language is used, it becomes easier to filter records when a specific thing is needed.
Mysql
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and huge community to provide solutions for all your problems
What do you dislike about the product?
As compared to other rdms mysql seems to be lagging in terms of indexing
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saving data for my application
Amazing software for big data
What do you like best about the product?
the most helpful feature about mysql is that you can run queries so easily even if you are not a tech expert. the UX is so simple that even a non-tech person person extensive big data queries.
What do you dislike about the product?
the lest helpful thing is the load, the software keeps on hanging a lot and sometimes big queries get timed out often. if this can be fixed this would the be best in class.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am trying to solve my day to day business analysis, fetch data from various columns and rows.
Free, open-source, and easy to use
What is our primary use case?
The primary use case for MySQL is to develop web applications, proof of concept projects with data collection, data manipulation, and data reporting on both Windows and Linux platforms.
We also use MySQL to store the data that we receive from different projects and build data models. We can also develop reports out of it.
MySQL is used for small application use only and not used for enterprise-level business applications.
MSQL is free open-source software. This is the most valuable aspect for any company as it helps to reduce the cost.
How has it helped my organization?
MySQL is easy to use and, with basic knowledge of SQL, users can easily build SQL Statements. It helps to reduce project cost for development projects. It also supports a large number of embedded applications.
The backup and recovery features are easy to use without any complexity. Users who don’t have much knowledge of databases can easily use these features.
MySQL offers password encryption and offers a good data security layer to protect data.
MySQL platform independence helps the development and user community.
What is most valuable?
MySQL is a relational database and it is easy to install, handle day-to-day activities, and manage backups. It is compatible with a lot of other shared database solutions.
MySQL Workbench is the graphical user interface tool and it helps with development, data modeling, data migration, and day-to-day administration.
MySQL has cross-platform support for multiple operating systems. The backups on a Linux machine can be restored on a Windows machine, and vice versa.
MySQL supports multiple window displays and it is useful for developers and users who don’t have much database knowledge.
What needs improvement?
Improvements are required in character set support, scalability, and big data sets.
There is a lack of advanced features such as SQLServer, PostgreSQL, etc. I would like to see minimum reporting services and analytics features in the next release.
MySQL doesn't have many tools to monitor performance and fix issues easily.
The graphical user interface needs to be improved. It would be nice to have drag and drop on tables to create relationships between them. Other relational databases have these basic features. It helps during development to have these on hand.
It needs improvement in high availability and scalability features.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've used the solution for more than ten years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
MySQL is good for small to medium sizes. Also, it has built-in security features.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
How are customer service and support?
The support may be limited for users who are not on cloud and needs improvement.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We did not previously use a different solution.
How was the initial setup?
MySQL is easy to setup and offers HA and scalability features.
What about the implementation team?
We implemented the solution in-house.
What was our ROI?
Its free open source availability provides good ROI. MySQL commercial version cost is higher than other open source databases.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
MySQL is free open-source software. This is the most valuable aspect for any company.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We looked at an SQL Server and Mongo DB.
What other advice do I have?
It supports wide range of languages and cross-platform support. Also the newer versions of MySQL offers lot of new features.
Still my favorite RDBMS.
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Mysql is widely adopted and accepted as a leading RDBMS. The fact that it is widely adopted comes with inherent benefits such as an active user community, which I can rely on to find solutions to almost any problem I have encountered as a Mysql user.
Technically speaking though, I like that it is relatively secure, can scale and I can use it for free as well, at least for building non-commercial products.
What do you dislike about the product?
I face difficulty finding documentations for specific Mysql utilities, such as select cases aeound data replication. Whenever this has happened, it is usually a clog in my work process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Mysql as our scalable Relational database management system (RDBMS) of choice, for querying, managing, retrieving data stored in our database.
Because Mysql comes with very minimal configuration requirements , it is very easy to setup and maintain without top level expertise requirement, thus saving us time and financial resource as well.
A Reliable Relational Database
What do you like best about the product?
MySQL is a widely used and accepted standard for creating databases. It has the capability to support almost any application in any scale--the rate at which you can spin up an instance of MySQL is great for almost any project.
What do you dislike about the product?
MySQL is very adaptable, but in some cases that is to its weakness as might not be the absolute best in certain cases. But I believe if you were in one of those edge cases you'd identify it and find a better solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
MySQL allowed me to move a lot of application data to a database server and enforce structure and ensures data retention for records as they are added and deleted.
