MySQL IS EASY To Use Database

  • November 04, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
First thing which I like most about MySQL is that its totally free of cost which allow me create n number of projects or multiple databases for single project.

Second its easy to learn and easy to use as compare to other complicated database and their usage.

Third its based on Rational Database, so its easy to maintain and get the work done with ease. You can also make even complex structure if you want or if you understand the complexity of structure.

Most commonly people used it with PHP or other languages which are also open source because it will decrease the cost of project, and I think its good Stack.
What do you dislike about the product?
As per my opinion I didn't find anything wrong with MySQL , because they give us lot of features and complex work we can do with it easily so right I have not a single problem with it.

But in case you want to make large ERP like application then I think you may have to move some other database if you feel its not fit in your requirement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
First of all it allows to make multiple database and allow to create a large data-set with which we can run a complete eCommerce application.

Its free to use because of that it allows to spend make application more better spending money on something else which increase the product quality.

MySQL allows remote login facility so multiple people can connect to same instance and work together which helps to get work done even before deadline.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Yes I strongly recommended this to every developer not only because its free to use but because its amazing and has lot of features and facility with which you can easily maintain large application.

And the best part it have large community who support you when you stuck somewhere.

The best data base manager for easy work

  • November 03, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing in the Mysql database is actually much better and fast then the speed of other options. The GUI has a freely navigable community edition for developers like us. The GUI is a familiar user, its features are not difficult to understand and it is easy to create schemas and tables. We can easily import and export database in a very easy way.
What do you dislike about the product?
The dislike Mysql is in which you can actually store large amounts of data, but the performance gets worse. if you need a BigData oriented database.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me to build my small application or large application. You don't have to worry about the features. Community support is great. Which is a good help to understand the problem quickly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use this product for easy and fast database management.

Reliable and consistent, but innovation has slowed

  • November 01, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We specifically chose MySQL because of it's consistency in query execution. For example, if a query takes 2 seconds to run in test, then it will be very close to 2 seconds in production. Other engines try to do lots of 'magic optimization' that can help, but also can hurt, and makes it very difficult to find "why this query is fast in test but slow in production"
What do you dislike about the product?
Innovation has slowed for MySQL since they were purchased by Oracle. Meaning that new versions are not released very often, and when they are released, they don't contain many new features and the features they do add are just copied from their competitors (like Postgres)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Primary transactional databases are all run on MySQL
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If I had it to do all over again, I would give PostGres a hard look instead. If you are going to use MySQL, have a look at Percona's flavor of MySQL instead

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The flexibility of open source

A Free Fast and reliable database

  • October 30, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Most important appereance of this product is that you may have a very stable and community supported database for free. Usage of MySql is also subsidized by presence of PHPMyadmin, a web interface with which you can perform any kind of operation, both as simple user and as ad administrator.
What do you dislike about the product?
MySQL is great for small and medium size projects. it's not useful for storing for exaple "Big Data". Virtually you can store very huge size of data but performance are increasingly worse. If you need some "big-data" oriented Database you should consider to switch to a no-sql database.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If you consider that almost 80% of website worldwide are wordpress based, and wordpress uses MySQL as its database, I think that entire Internet would be different without MySql. Despite now MariaDB is catching on, MySql is always a certainty for every WebDeveloper, in particular for php/wordpress developers.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It works with a dual license, that is, it allows you to use it freely for test developments, student research, small businesses and corporate licenses with advanced features, it is ideal for web developments
What do you dislike about the product?
Free versions do not include all functions and in limited opportunities for certain research tests, licensing is quite expensive
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Management of large numbers of records, databases, quick searches, use of intuitive filters, triggers, integration with tools, information systems and others
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For companies my recommendation is that they always keep the staff with continuous courses and training so that they are updated in all innovations, for professionals who continue to learn and use mysql and always make backups

  • October 28, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
MySQL remained to have the free version that is already enough even to a full scale project management system minimizing license costs and maximizing development and system improvements.
The ease of use and versatility of MySQL helped us migrate our database from different MySQL versions and different servers.
MySQL have been very vital in my job in training our members on DB management, DB design and pgysical and logical optimizations.
What do you dislike about the product?
None.
Or maybe because there is a paid version...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
High employee turnover can sometimes be a problem in our IT organizations. Because MySQL is being used for college education, it is easier and simpler to addresss turnover and learning curve even for new members is easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
MySQL provides low cost but powerful solutions that can definitely suite your basic to intermediate Dabase needs.
