What do you like best about the product?
The best with MySQL is the fact that it’s free for use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can’t say that this database is the easiest and more user friendly out there in the market.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Only developing small databases like customer listing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As it is offered for free with your server account it is worth giving it a try.

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to run a script into MySQL. I like the programming language of MySQL because the queries are easy to learn and easy to implement for your database.
I like the functions of MySQL for example: exporting your database schema, exporting your tables in different formats. There is a wizard function with this the records can be added very easy into websites with just one click.

What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I have to wait some time when I want to import the content into a database. I am using different sql tools and each SQL tool has a different query language and not all queries from Oracle or plSQL are compatible with MySQL.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used MySQL to update our internal company webpage, this is a database with a graphical interface with information about employees, tasks, suppliers and customers. I used the MySQL functions and the updates were fast and I saved precious time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend you to learn some basic sql scripts before using this tool.

It's free, it's familiar, well-documented, and it works. There are no surprises, and that may be the best thing.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's nothing I truly dislike. It just works for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for basic website use and as a data source for some up and coming software being developed.

None - we all know what we are doing, right?

Simple to setup and use for basic tasks. Well documented.

More advanced features are pooorly documented and try to push you to purchase the Enterprise edition.

Used for multiple applications.

Simply syntax, supported by most major software frameworks. Scalable enough for large datasets. Nice administrative tools like workbench.

Lack of advanced features and support for JSON

It's a great solution if you need a simple relational database. Postgres is another good option. Before deciding on relational vs. NoSql make sure to consider the nature of the data and your access patterns.

What do you like best about the product?
MySQL provides a variety of storage engines with different properties that match a wide range of business needs. It has a good performance and strong scalability.

Replication setup is difficult to set up. Also, sometimes tables can get corrupted and it is not easy to fix

What do you like best about the product?
Well MYSQL was the industry standard for relational databases. So it is being used industry wide in every company.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well there are many more new databases without relational model and are being now increasingly being used in industry.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Which were companies needed database right from 1990 were using relational databases and that time MYSQL was as its peak and was used by every company to scaled their databases and hence it came a greal deal for us as well.

If your company still uses relational databases then it would be the right tool to use...go for it.
