A better IDE to start with MySQL
What do you like best about the product?
The application size is pretty small and therefore download doesn't seem to take much time. The interface is clean and takes minimal time to install a database. Can connect to every cloud platform including Amazon's AWS and Google Cloud platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
The application sometimes fails to connect to Google Cloud Platform. I would like to see a feature from SQL Server where by holding the Alt key user can select multiple lines at the same position.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently, I am working on a dataset that contains millions of rows and the only option I had was to store it in the cloud due to computational constraints. Since MySQL can connect to any platform, I preferred to use it as an option for my requirement.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
When connecting to Google Platform, refer to Google's documentation for setting up the database instance.
My Experience with MySQL
What do you like best about the product?
The best part about MySQL is how easily I can connect it to any a application and the user friendly editor where I can query and test the database. I like the SQL Editor as I can rerun any line without have to rewrite it. The editor also has few inbuilt features where I can update the database without having to write the actual query. Also the debugging is very easy to detect where I can go through the logs and find out which line is wrong.
What do you dislike about the product?
Installation and set up of MySQL on a MAC OS is very difficult, I struggled in setting up the software. I had to install so many unwanted software to set up this one. Lot of my friends also had the same problem, I did not understand the purpose of these other software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've used MySQL in building a dashboard where I extracted the data from MySQL and queried on Dashboard.
It was very easy for me to connect to my application and run it using very few lines of code.

MySQL Enterprise Edition
What do you like best about the product?
We use MySQL Enterprise Edition at our company to create and interact with databases. Open source is often prefered for RDBMS as a wide community can help solve problems that may arrise.
What do you dislike about the product?
While powerful, some similar open source systems offer a higher query execution speed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Database management for a wide range of application, such as custom build.
Easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
Simple easy to understand software . Can be learnt and implemented in short period of time
What do you dislike about the product?
Not able to copy and past easily . Can have better ui
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Persistent storage from Java applications .
Best database for general use
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, secure, extensible, great support
What do you dislike about the product?
Automating/verifying backups are a bit of a pain
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simple data storage
Good for small or test project
What do you like best about the product?
The last UI graphics is great. The configuration it's easy and fast, for client and server sides both. For this it's recommended for small business projects, or for a test environment, or for personal uses.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some constraints to observe, that for me are old and useless today. It's not powerful enough for a huge amount of data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Test projects, that need a fast configuration
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it for small or easy projects
Easy and practical
What do you like best about the product?
It is quite simple to get it running, and you can use it on development environments (aka laptop) and on big servers. It is quite simple to install, configure and run. It has an environment of tools that makes it easier to manage and maintain the DB (eg. workbench)
What do you dislike about the product?
There are other tools and relational DB that achieves better performance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are managing states of entities, and historic data of those entities. The entities go through an automated cycle that can take from 1s to 24h, and travels through different locations. Looking the state of a certain object at any time it is necessary so we track where and the state of that object is whit a DB model.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I will recommend MySQL because of it's simplicity and the improvements the SW is experiencing. Its performance is getting better and better while maintaining the "traditional" approach to relational DB.
MySQL is a great general purpose and entry level data management system
What do you like best about the product?
MySQL is easy to use and supported on virtually every platform. It supports a wide variety of use cases out of the box, and generally "just works." Community support is prolific, which is really helpful when troubleshooting or architecting solutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Performance tuning can be difficult to manage and diagnose. For large and complex applications, MySQL will likely not be the only data system in use due to its scalability or complex query performance. Data storage on disk isn't as good as competitors (e.g. compression). Being a traditional data store, application integration can be more difficult than using a NoSQL-based solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We built ecommerce platforms, AI data stores, and other reporting solutions on MySQL.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider application performance requirements and scaling requirements before choosing MySQL. Do your research on other solutions before choosing MySQL. It can be tempting because it's free and open source, but be aware that there are other flavors of MySQL out there too!
MySql

I love mysql!
What do you like best about the product?
Learning sql has helped me do so much more with the data I use at work. I love writing queries!
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I think something is going to work and I get the wrong result.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it for everything! I love being able to pull random facts and figures to let us know how business is going. I also use it to check for data errors.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is an easy way to set up and use SQL databases for behind the scenes querying as well as integrating with a website.
