Best known tool to handle database

  • September 30, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This is the best example used for database tools. It is an excellent tool for creating, deleting and manipulating data in a database. It is easy to use and very reliable in nature. It is an open source tool which makes it open to reach and develop new heights of development in the region. At the same time it is a bit expensive which makes it different from other devices and sets the best example for widespread use of devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
Mysql is an efficient and optimized tool to use, but again despite excellent support it offers some relatively scalability issues that make it relatively poor to use in an open manner. Development in the database is not community-driven.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
During my final evaluation I have to setup an entire website to show the authentication and functionality of my backend code. And I relied on database SQL to deal with data. But sometimes a tool was needed to fix some errors in the data that would help me manipulate the data in the database. At that time I used mysql and found that it was very easy and attractive to use the tool in an easy and effective way.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Wide usage and extensive functionality makes it a perfect and must tool to use for the developers. It is recommended to every kind of developer who deals with the databases.

Best Suited Database Server for Student

  • September 30, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Some of the major advantages of MySQL include data security, on-demand, scalability, high performance, the flexibility of open source, reduce the total cost of ownership as you will use it to make your own server, it comes with 24x7 assurance and a lot of solutions available on the forum for a different type of problems.
What do you dislike about the product?
MySQL does not support a very large database size as efficiently, it also does not support ROLE, COMMIT, and stored procedures in the versions less than 5.0. Transactions are not supported efficiently. There are some stability issues. It also suffers from poor performance scaling.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a full stack developer and MySQL is my first choice for the backend. since this is an open-source therefore I can use it for free and also it is way easier to access as compared to oracle. It comes with a server and a workbench, by which I could apply all the operations without writing a single query.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend this to all students, developers who wish to work in the backend.

The best database to use

  • September 22, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
MySQL supports a detailed documentation that is the best and functions every part of it. This documentation will be updated from time to time. It also supports a wide range of operating systems to support execution and since it is an open source product, there is no license fee to use it in any way. It's queries are easy to write and understand and can be used efficiently at places.
What do you dislike about the product?
It does not support any property of isolation and atomicity for queries. It is very expensive from the hardware side and uses too much RAM in backend runs. There it takes a lot of time when getting data with multiple sub-queries and even when we try to fetch a table with multiple rows of data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As I am a web developer and prefer django as a back-end Python based web framework, in which we always need some databases for protecting and storing our data, but with security we need a database that is easy to use and there is some systematic way to fetch data in an efficient manner. There I have to use mysql tool as a controller of my database built on sql server. This tool helps me easily view, update, delete data without interfering with the python backend code of the website.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This tool is itself has a brand in the market and is the first choice of every developer these days. This would be recommended for any type of data from small scale to extensively large scale.

MySQL is a great open source and widely supported database solution

  • September 15, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
MySQL can be easily installed on a local server or workstation instance for testing. The same product also works for enterprise level deployment and is supported by many online cloud services including AWS.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you know T-SQL (Microsoft) there are some commands that aren't standard such as update. It is necessary to relearn the environment to be able to fully use the system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
MySQL powers most of the Internet. It's a very easy to use solution that doesn't require licencing costs. I use MySQL to run most of my online databases.

* It is a platform that can be implemented on any operating system.
* MySQL is open source software, so there is no license fee.
* The syntax for the queries is very simple and its response times are very short.
* Has a database manager or interface (MySQL Workbench) where large amounts of data can be imported / exported and perform a large number of operations.
* Most developers and large companies develop apps using MySQL as a database, so there is extensive documentation.
What do you dislike about the product?
* It is a difficult database to scale when there are problems in the database.
* May require high CPU resources when performing multiple queries.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My experience in MySQL has been spectacular, since I have used this database manager for different software. It was very easy for me to learn to use MySQL due to its extensive documentation and ease of syntax. I currently use it for website development because I can easily maintain it and because it is available from most hosting services.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Working with MySQL is very simple and will cut you big costs. The documentation that this software has is endless, in addition to having a wide community of users willing to help you.

InnoDB of MySQL

  • September 02, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
InnoDB which has the better features for Row Lock. Compared with MyIASM which is using Table Lock, which is more efficient for large scale of dataload. And others still can access to read data and materials.
What do you dislike about the product?
InnoDB did not preserve the number of rows of the table. It caused the massive SELECT * query would spend quite a lot of time.
Also not support FULLTEXT search that limited the application usage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Compared with Oracle DB, MySQL is light weight, relatively cheaper and easy installation on any VM or bare metals.
And MySQL is one of the cloud native DB which Oracle DB still is a bit difficult to support in cloud platform.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Other than community version, subscribe with enterprise version should get better feedback and updates

A popular open source Database platform

  • August 05, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
One of the best platforms in the open source RDBMS databases. Compatible with other database programs without much change needed. It is a reliable program. The processes are quick compared to other programs. The Simple UI aids in the easy and flexibility of use. The Innodb tables are a huge improvement in the program. It is easy to create database using MySQL. The syntax used is much like English thus making it easy to learn and decreasing the learning gap. The management of data is easily done using MySQL. My SQL is easier to manage and deploy compared to other programs in its field. Whether it is an eCommerce website that receives a million queries every single day or a high-speed transactional processing system, MySQL is designed to meet even the most demanding applications while ensuring optimum speed, full-text indexes and unique memory caches for enhanced performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
The SQL requirement. Sometimes it has stability issues. The restrictions to the table sizes and schemes. The licensing can be improved. Adding web hooks can sometimes be difficult. The tuning of the software is a bit complex. InnoDB tables don’t support full text searches. It might be great for small amount of data but while working with large amount it comes up with issues like speed , etc. Though it matches with most of the frameworks sometimes it doesn’t. The UI of the platform can be improved. The linking table could be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being simple and by using easy language MySQL is best for people with no or less experience of Database programs.

MySQL lacking behind Oracle live SQL as the latter provides more flexibility

  • August 03, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
MySQL is still the easiest query language to learn when it comes to SQL. If someone has the database and table queries ready, any amateur can learn and explore SQL. It is also easy for different tasks like creating scripts out of the database, maintaining storage etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downsides are mostly the pain in working on all the database upload to the system and creating tables and views from scratch. You would also need to download the SQL Server management studio and you cannot use it like Oracle SQL. Someone who is lazy and quickly wants to see if their query is working will upload their scripts to Oracle live as no downloads are required for the same.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am handling data worth 5 million rows on a daily/weekly basis.

In terms of storage and query processing times, MySQL definitely takes a lead over other tools and programming languages.

MySQL and it's features

  • August 03, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
MySQL is a simple yet efficient database that is usable in every field of technical industries. One can construct structured tables of data that can be used as databases. This software helps reduce memory consumption which increases durability and long-term support.
What do you dislike about the product?
This major disadvantage is with the data size because it causes an error in working with large datasets. With MySQL it also becomes difficult to shift that large database to another server. It is good in early stage but not long term use. Command line interfaces are required to operate any such graphical interface.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I worked with Mysore as it is an open source feature that uses it worldwide with no restrictions. It helps in developing databases for web applications. I use it to handle my data in my django projects and also update it as per requirements.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As it has long term usability and helps to provide database support in many technologies so that the best structured data can be obtained and used by handling data in the form of tables. It is recommended for all technical staff.
