In my case, I would mostly say it's because of security reasons. At least for the typical use cases that I generally rely on Windows for, there didn't seem to be a noticeable performance difference for me. There's, of course, the overall more polished and streamlined UI, that sort of thing. However, that's more of a minor consideration for me. Mostly, it's about staying up to date with security patches, etcetera.

Improved security features with gaming enhancements while supporting various features
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
I understand that Windows 11 supports quite a bit of additional features for people who are, for example, into high-end gaming and the features that support that kind of utility.
It's not personally much of a thing for me, however, I've heard about differences between the two operating system versions. To the best of my knowledge, I think Windows 11 brings some AI features for Microsoft Copilot, which probably weren't as integrated into the previous version.
There are the occasional bugs and issues that pop up, yet none are significant enough for me to consider a major update. Overall, it's a smooth experience.
For how long have I used the solution?
At some point, I did use it. That is true.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
There are the occasional bugs and issues that pop up, however, none are significant enough for me to consider a major upgrade at that point or such.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I haven't worked on other tools. Usually, I work with Microsoft PowerPoint or Microsoft Excel.
How was the initial setup?
I would say the setup goes into hours. Somewhere between two to two and a half hours is a good time for the entire installation, having the OS up and installing some basic drivers. That's a safe bet.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
In my case, when I purchased my laptop, it basically had Windows 11 preinstalled as well as one of the latest editions of Microsoft Goop, either 2016 or 2020. So everything came bundled in a single package, and I didn't have to buy it separately.
What other advice do I have?
Windows 11 is most likely the best choice. However, the entire operating system is a bit much. The Microsoft tools I mentioned are basically running on that OS. Not any significant changes, but in my older desktop, the hardware did not support a migration to Windows 11, which is why I had to move to newer hardware.
The overall product rating is eight out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Deployment becomes smooth and performance improves significantly
What is most valuable?
The deployment is seamless and I am familiar with it. The configuration management tools, such as SACM, are effective. Deployment is not particularly difficult for both Windows 10 and 11. The upgrade process has been smooth, and performance has significantly increased, especially in laptops. Even for older laptops, the performance has improved by at least 25%.
What needs improvement?
I do not have notes for improvement.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Windows 11 for the past two years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
With newer applications and endpoint agents installed on Windows 10, it was somewhat challenging, however, it was not an issue with Windows itself. The challenges were related to third-party agents and their supportability. Not all agents were easy to install on top of Windows, and we have more than 40 agents.
How are customer service and support?
We are facing some challenges with Windows 11 where a pop-up appears when we enter the password. It asks if we want to change it or continue with the same, which is annoying. We have informed Microsoft, but the issue is still there, and it has been more than three to four months.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Since we procure enterprise licenses with support, it does not make much difference when it comes to support.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate Windows 10 eight out of ten.
Recommended for beginners but needs more information for hard drives
What is our primary use case?
We use the solution as an operating system.
What needs improvement?
Windows versions before 2016 had a lot of stability problems. When cybersecurity teams tested these devices or operating systems, we found many vulnerabilities to exploit. That's why if I could make solutions for a company, I'd migrate many things to other operating systems like Linux, Cisco, or other alternatives. Most of our company now opts for Windows because 99 percent of users can use it. But I prefer to use Linux for support, engineering, or design teams - the technical teams.
The tool needs to offer more information on hard drives.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working with the product for four to five years.
How are customer service and support?
I haven't contacted technical support yet.
What other advice do I have?
I recommend Windows 10 for beginners. But when an engineer or technician grows higher, I recommend migrating to Linux. It's very useful and very stable. As for rating Windows 10 on a scale of one to ten, I would rate it a seven.
UI is very easily accessible, easy to use but troubleshooting feature could be better
What is our primary use case?
It's generally used for managing the laptop. Its UI is very easily accessible, so I can manage all the things easily across many platforms.
Secondly, Microsoft provides support for a lot of things. So it's generally easy for you to access anything on Windows as compared to Linux.
How has it helped my organization?
I don't exactly remember if this level of encryption was included in which operating system of Windows, but that's a great feature that you can encrypt the whole disk. So BIOS level password is another great security feature that protects the laptop with a BIOS password when you try to log in. So I think that these two features are really good: file-level encryption and then BIOS-level encryption.
What is most valuable?
The main benefit of Windows operating system is that it's really easy to use. So, when it's easy to use, you can definitely teach anyone easily. It's easy to tell anyone things who is not linked to the operating system.
It's been only one month since I have switched to Windows 11, and I haven't been using it very much as compared to Windows 10. However, one main feature that I would like to highlight is the amendment of CMD in Windows 11. You can now access many things from the command line and install a lot of features from there as well.
Secondly, many new updates are being installed, which allows you to access things easily.
I have used voice recognition as well. That's a great feature. And one more thing, the integration of Copilot, that's a really amazing thing.
Windows 11 has Copilot built into the Windows operating system by default.
What needs improvement?
There is room for improvement in the troubleshooting feature, which they have integrated into Windows; I think they should make it easier and more efficient to troubleshoot any issues.
Even when you run a troubleshooter, it is not able to identify the real problem. So, I need to Google that problem and then find a solution on YouTube. Instead, we should be able to just write that on the community platform, and we are able to help. Troubleshooting can easily identify the real cause of the problem. I think that was not present in Windows 10.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using it for a very long time. It's almost since it was launched. So, from the release.
How are customer service and support?
Windows 11 support is really good compared to Windows 10. But when I was using Windows 10, their support was a bit poor. They were not completely poor—their community is working a lot—but their support was a bit poor compared to Windows 11.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Windows 10 is easy to use, but as compared to the other operating system, it is not free. Linux is open source, and Linux is completely free.
The main difference between Windows 7, 10, and 11 is that Windows 11 has CMD installed. So you can easily access things from the command line as well. You can install many things from the command line as well. And now the GUI is relatively easier as compared to Windows 10.
Secondly, the regular updates which Windows 10 and 11 give you. So now I don't know that Windows 10 is being supported by Microsoft because now I'm using Windows 11. But the main thing is that your updates are getting installed easily and automatically. So there is no worry about your operating system being hacked by anyone. They are automatically patching all the vulnerabilities in the system.
How was the initial setup?
Even if I compare Windows 10 and Windows 11, it is really easy to configure and maintain.
What other advice do I have?
Overall, I would rate it a seven out of ten.
Provides multitasking features and a user-friendly UI
What is our primary use case?
The solution is mostly used by our employees for their daily office work. We use the solution in the IT industry.
What is most valuable?
The solution provides multitasking features. We use Windows 10 because our employees are more familiar with Windows than Linux. Windows 10 is more user-friendly than Linux.
What needs improvement?
The solution's resource usage for the user could be improved. Somehow, we cannot control the usage in the back end. We cannot control what the user has installed in their system. Sometimes, there is a spike in the solution's usage. We are not using the solution's security feature because we got a report from our security team that it is not quite good.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using the solution for four to five years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
We haven’t faced any issues with the solution’s stability.
I rate the solution’s stability an eight out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Around 15 users are using the solution in our organization.
I rate the solution’s scalability an eight out of ten.
How was the initial setup?
The solution’s initial setup is easy. The deployment takes less than one hour.
On a scale from one to ten, where one is difficult and ten is easy, I rate the solution’s initial setup an eight out of ten.
What was our ROI?
The biggest value we get from Windows 10 is its compatibility and user-friendly UI.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The solution is a bit expensive.
What other advice do I have?
In Windows 10, we have Windows Defender for security. We haven't faced any compatibility issues with Windows 10, and it works normally with our system. I would recommend the solution to other users because most people are familiar with Windows.
Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Has an easy-to-handle configuration and deployment phases
What is our primary use case?
I work in a BPO call center, where we only use third-party client tools to make calls. The operating system is just the best. We have nothing much more to do with the operating system, as all the work is done in the tool only.
What is most valuable?
The solution's most valuable feature is the Snip and Sketch tool in Windows 10, which is a screenshot product.
What needs improvement?
Sometimes, the tool gives a blue screen without any reason, and then I have to restart the system. It is an area where improvements are required. If the system is running or when it is getting started a blue screen appears in between. It is not a regular issue.
Connecting to customer care takes too long, making it an area where improvements are required.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Windows 10 for three or four years.
How are customer service and support?
My company contacted the solution's technical support, who claimed that the blue screen appeared because some hardware failure issue might be causing the problem. I rate the technical support a seven out of ten.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
How was the initial setup?
The product's configuration and deployment phases are easy.
The time required to deploy the solution depends on the system hardware configuration and it would take a maximum of 20 minutes to complete.
What was our ROI?
The tool is used for some basic requirements, so I don't know how we can say that Windows 10 has helped to save money. It is the basic requirement that any tool offers to its users. If we use some extra firewall or antivirus tools, then we can give the rating, but currently, Windows 10 is used for basic needs.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The tool is cheaply priced. It is not very cheap, but one can manage its costs easily.
What other advice do I have?
I use Microsoft Defender in Windows 10. When it comes to the security part of Windows 10, sometimes it fails to update. In our company, we are using another antivirus tool that offers total security. On top of Windows 10, I have a third-party antivirus tool.
One time, I tried using Windows 11, but I was not satisfied with it because it was very heavy for my system, and my system slowed down. Performance in Windows 10 is better than Windows 11.
I have not integrated the tool with other products.
There are no AI integration projects with the tool that my company handles.
I am satisfied with the tool. After Windows 7, Windows 8 was very bad. When Windows 10 was launched, it was very good and comparable to Windows 7. The upgraded features in Windows 10 are very good.
I recommend the tool to others.
I rate the tool a nine out of ten.
Useful for emails, reading books, and watching movies—for work and entertainment
What is our primary use case?
I use Windows 10 for everything in my IT job. I use it for different tools, programs, and client software in a client environment. I also use it for emails, reading books, and watching movies—for work and entertainment.
What is most valuable?
I've used different Windows releases for many years, so it's the preferred operating system that I'm used to. I don't use the tiled interface that Microsoft introduced to unify laptop and mobile interfaces, but I find it inconvenient on laptops. I prefer the more classical, conservative interface like Windows 7 and XP.
What needs improvement?
I think there are too many unnecessary questions when installing the solution. I try to do it as quickly as possible, answering "no" or "I don't want" to most questions. I don't remember the questions because I just try to skip them all. I don't pay attention to particular questions as I don't need them. I know I'll get Windows at the end, which I need. Compared to years ago, the installation process now has many more non-technical questions about usage and family members, which I don't like.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using the product for six to seven years.
How are customer service and support?
I've never directly contacted Microsoft support, but I've found answers on their support website through Google searches.
What other advice do I have?
I don't personally manage the security features; corporate administrators handle that. I don't control the default Windows security services.
Our company plans to upgrade to Windows 11 in a few months, replacing Windows 10. I'm unsure about performance compared to Linux, but I'm more used to Windows, so I don't plan to switch.
We have OneDrive integration, but I don't use it much. For security and privacy reasons, I prefer keeping my files locally on hard disks rather than in the cloud. I also don't like distributing my files across cloud networks to make them more available to others.
I'd rate Windows 10 as eight out of ten. It's not a ten because of unnecessary features like the tiled interface and installation questions. Also, a controversial feature in Windows 11 would automatically take screenshots every few seconds, including passwords and secret information. After complaints, Microsoft made this feature off by default. They presented it as an advantage for retrieving lost information, but people feared privacy implications. That's why I don't rate it a ten.
Has good integration features and a fantastic UI
What needs improvement?
Sometimes, I receive a blue screen when I open the product, so it is an area that can be improved in the tool.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have experience with Windows 10.
How are customer service and support?
I never contacted the solution's technical support, and instead, I use ChatGPT. I can find solutions to my issues with ChatGPT.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11. I have to face my customers, who normally prefer Windows 11 now, so I upgraded my PC. Windows 11 is more stable overall than Windows 10, and its UI is fantastic.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Microsoft supports free upgrades from Windows 10 to Windows 11.
What other advice do I have?
At some point in time, Windows 10 will reach the end of service, and then it can not be supported by Microsoft. I think everybody has to upgrade the OS to Windows 11 from Windows 10.
Windows 10 and Windows 11 look quite similar. It is quite easy to use the very good secured features in Windows 11. When I used to use Windows 10, it was quite difficult to find the features that I wanted. When it comes to protection, Windows 11 gives many functions or default options, but Windows 10 does not.
When it comes to the integration features, Windows 10 and Windows 11 are the same. Nowadays, many product companies support Windows 11, and then they start to support Windows 10.
Many people, like me, normally use ChatGPT. ChatGPT has two versions, one is for free and the other is a commercial version. The commercial version is excellent, and I am satisfied with it.
If I need some features or functions in Windows 10 or Windows 11, I check with my IT team.
Over Windows 10, I would recommend Windows 11 to others.
I rate the tool a nine out of ten.
Offers a very ease of setup phase to its users
What is our primary use case?
I use the solution in my company as it is the operating system installed on my laptop. The tool is used for regular day-to-day use, like for running apps and some official work.
What needs improvement?
The tool's expensive part is an area where improvements are required.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have experience working with Windows 10. I have been using it since it was released on the market.
How are customer service and support?
I never had to contact the solution's technical support.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Personally, I use macOS, and I believe it is good for personal use.
How was the initial setup?
The product's initial setup phase was very simple, and I feel anyone can do it.
The solution can be deployed in 45 minutes.
What was our ROI?
Windows 10 is definitely better than Windows 7 in terms of performance, as it is comparatively faster and easier to work with, so all the work gets done quickly.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The tool's price used to be good earlier, but now it has become expensive. The tool is worth the money, especially since Windows 10 users got auto-upgraded to Windows 11.
What other advice do I have?
After the tool's implementation, I can say that I see that its performance is better since the system does not hang anymore. The UI is also good. Overall, the experience is even better with Windows 11.
Windows 10 was definitely better than Windows 7. Windows 11 is better than Windows 10.
I like the fact that Windows 10 introduced Windows Defender, so I don't have to install antivirus separately. Windows Defender works well.
I have not integrated the tool with other teams.
I recommend Windows 11 over Windows 10.
I rate the tool an eight out of ten.
Supports multiple windows, which helps organize tasks
What is our primary use case?
I use Windows 10 as a normal desktop environment.
What is most valuable?
The tool supports multiple windows, which helps organize tasks. I find Windows 10 quite stable compared to earlier versions. The Windows Defender is much better for security, though it may not be suitable for company use. Personally, it's okay for me.
What needs improvement?
I don't face major challenges with Windows 10. My main concern is how the system protects against hackers, especially after recent reports of systems being accessed without user knowledge. For improvements, since Microsoft plans to stop supporting Windows 10 soon, it might be better to focus on Windows 11. However, if I had to suggest improvements for Windows 10, I'd recommend including convenient features like those in Apple products. For example, Apple's easy printer setup without needing to install drivers.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using the product for six years.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It's very easy to scale to more machines. I'd rate the scalability a ten out of ten. My company has 200-300 users.
How was the initial setup?
Setup is very easy for me - I'd rate it a ten out of ten. Even for people who don't know much, it's quite easy. It takes about 10-15 minutes to set up.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The price is quite expensive for our currency. A perpetual license costs around 300 dollars.
What other advice do I have?
There was a recent issue regarding vulnerabilities where hackers could access desktops remotely through firmware. This wasn't fully dependent on Microsoft, as it involved browsers like Chrome and Explorer. Once identified, the issue was resolved quickly.
I advise those wanting to use Windows 10 to go for Windows 11 instead.
Overall, I'd rate it a nine out of ten.
