It's the best alterantive for free UTM product.

Easy to deploy and configured
Many free options (webfiltering, antivirus, antispam, intrusion prevention, etc ...)

There are few category for webfiltering in the free version (but for educational purpose the price is lower)

Untangle is used in the library to provide public Internet access.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make a backup. It's easy and you can make restore more easy.
