Solves many fundamental issues and encourages quicker resolution
What do you like best about the product?
It quickly brings the parties that must deal with issues to the room and most importantly, leave the ones out that are NOT involved with the issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not as good as AppMon was for software developers to view the code stack.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Too many to list, but was able to monitor critical 3rd party apps running onprem (without source code) and determine issues before the 3rd party knew.
Noob likes what he sees, hopeful for future
What do you like best about the product?
After attending a conference to better understand the product, I like the fact that there are so many use-cases that could potentially be helped.
What do you dislike about the product?
Less a gripe about the product, but monitoring for a particular development language in general: not a fan of the fact that C++ applications require the agent to be referenced in their source. If I developed this application on my own, that wouldn't be a big deal, but I want to monitor an app that has been provided to me by a vendor - and they are unwilling to make changes to support the Dynatrace agent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visibility into application-level problems. The capability to trace problems through multiple layers of the stack has been incredibly useful across development teams that are still somewhat siloed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be sure that automation of the platform (in terms of its consumption) is thought out up-front. Otherwise, it will be a huge barrier to adoption.

Test and request a PoC, this way the management team can check the business value.

What do you like best about the product?
After working so long in infrastructure side of it and being on monitoring space Dyanatrace give lot of the great option for outside of the box monitoring.
What do you dislike about the product?
None but..some need simplicity of instrumentation

Great tool for both Infrastructure and app side of monitoring
DYNATRACE has been a great asset for performance testing

Ability to drill down to the code and replay user sessions

SaaS navigations - kind of confuses as how we reached that link and no easy option to go back to where we started and also the time duration filter just plays up

Getting insight into our application ecosystem and leveraging smart correlation and pattern analysis to reduce MTTR.
Great support during implementation and beyond
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Dynatrace assisted us when we decided to bring AppMon/Dynatrace into our company. The assistance they provided leading up to implementation and beyond was superb.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dont' like that Dynatrace can't do everything that I need and I have to rely on other tools to fill in gaps, but it seems that the company is continuously working to improve the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Dynatrace we are able to give interesting data to more of out IT organization. Those who don't work within Dynatrace day in and day out are able to garner useful data out of what Dynatrace is collecting and displaying. This wasn't possible with other products, where it took a deep understanding of the product to be able to get anything useful out of it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take advantage of the support/sales staff as much as possible. They are amazing!

Must have product for complex cloud applications
What do you like best about the product?
We get critical process insight and the ability to deep-dive into metrics, and traces, unlike any other tool. It has been battle-tested on many triage calls. Compared to its competitors , Dynatrace is simpler to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
The product support has been a bit challenging. Chat support does not work unless you have a trivial question. Support for .Net Applications is a challenge on certain occasions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dynatrace is able to provide deeper insights that helped us catch several production problems and improve customer experience. DEM was very useful for some key applications as well. Kubernetes insights provided by Dynatrace are invaluable for triages and reducing MTTR.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Deploy in dev before deploying to production. Sounds trivial , but true.
