From AppMon to Dynatrace
What do you like best about the product?
Easier learning curve, especially for development users with limited monitoring experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
Limiting for some features: custom metrics expensive, as a SaaS customer, we've got limited API calls - this will make us rethink how central a role Dynatrace will play.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Just started, so it's hard to tell
Dyntrace is great for application debugging
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to get an easy to navigate tree telling you where in your application an issue is happening makes debugging much simpler. With Dynatrace I have been able to help our application teams quickly diagnose major productions issues. I was also able to quickly help debug some issues with applications in our cloud migration initiative.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dynatrace has a few restrictions that they don't document well such as limitation on API calls and SQL variables with the SaaS solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dynatrace is helping us to allow applications to quickly move to the cloud in our deployment pipeline. With Dynatrace we are able to quickly diagnose any issues that come up with application code.

What do you like best about the product?
Full event it was very informative and very good session based on individuals area of work.
What do you dislike about the product?
Session was pretty good though some of the session was overbooked.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I found multiple benefits easy to configure and it can trace it to much granular level of details without needing to much configuration
Interesting Tool with great features
What do you like best about the product?
Log monitoring, Integration with service now, pure path feature to trace logs
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool is more useful for operation team, me as a developer find only pure path , log monitoring as important feature. It more to be added which helps development stand point, that would be good.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Troubleshooting code issues. Trace back the logs using pure path. Creating dashboards.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good tool for log monitoring, pure path. And it used as SAAS at our company. we find many benefits, specially when we use kubernate for our applications.
Delivers on promises but isn't 100% technically sound
What do you like best about the product?
How not difficult it is to initially setup the system. There is a lot of usability the day that you install it
What do you dislike about the product?
The high frequency of alerting as well as all the fine tuning to deliver this product to be production ready.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed greater insight into our stability problems and better root cause analysis
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It works but is subject to compete with other monitoring tools you may be using. Too many header injections can slow down performance. However they pretty much deliver on all their promises
More than just a APM !
What do you like best about the product?
DT will give you a visibility inside your app that you have never seen before. It will map out all the dependencies for you and helps out with troubleshooting. It makes life a LOT easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
No dislikes so far. It works seamlessly out of the box and it juts keeps getting better as you tweak it based on your needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes monitoring and migrating applications to cloud a lot easier!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Defiantly do a POC of this product , you wont be disappointed.

Easy to use flexible and provides many ways to reach to basic information

Licensee price and type. For small companies its hard to follow up

We use it for our daily incident management process. The purepaths are really great to identify sensitive paths

Dynatrace provides deep visibility into application performance that really helps organization with understanding the availability and reliability aspects of the application and performance bottlenecks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unable to implement Code level instrumentation of Python.

Availability of business critical applications, SLA monitoring and continuous measurements.

The new platform's tenant model makes it difficult to manage Host Unit licenses when available HUs are shor
