Solid Next Gen FW
What do you like best about the product?
The SMC management interface is easy to manipulate. Thick client drag and drop is nice. Support/TAC is decent. NGFW product is quite reliable.
What do you dislike about the product?
it took way too long for the SMC WebUI to get added to a LTS release. It is there now and I look forward to upgrading to this version. When using it as a VPN concentrator automatic Renewal of Gateway Certificates doesn't support ECDSA certs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Provides security and VPN solution at a competative price when compared to competitors in the space.
for some scenarios these are great firewalls, for more complicated scenarios they can be problematic

the ability to push same policy push to all fw's

the central smc seems to have a lot of glitches

Ease of use of the user interface
Each firewall being able to be configured independently or as a group

Online knowledge base is not easy to find answers for assistance

Issues with VPN connectivity timeouts before they should be timed out.
Configuration with Netlink and Multilink interfaces.
The firewall is easy to manage once you learn it and can do a multitude of things including SDWAN.

Try it and you will like it. These firewalls do everything you could need and more.
They made what they promice

Managemet is easy to use, all are in same place

If you lose connection to managemet, you might have problem to make changes.

VPN connections and management are easynes
Powerful firewall, but difficult to use in a DoD setting

It's certainly secure. FIPS compliance is a plus.

Clunky interface with very limited options to automate.

It is really easy to set up. It is very intuitive and I feel like my security needs are being met.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I have to run terminal commands to flush my computer in order get my VPN to work... but that might be a personal issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to work from home while still being behind a firewall. I am able to code and run my local server from home.
