Qu'aimez-vous le plus à propos de the product?
Surtout, j'aime la simplicité et avec un peu de connaissances en réseau, je peux gérer mon réseau à la maison.
Que n’aimez-vous pas à propos de the product?
Puisque je ne suis pas un technicien, je dois passer par beaucoup de lecture pour compenser. mais à la fin, la documentation est disponible et il y a beaucoup de contributions sur les forums qui sont également très utiles.
Quels sont les problèmes que the product résout, et en quoi cela vous est-il bénéfique?
J'utilise pfSense pour contrôler l'accès au réseau en isolant le réseau invité. De plus, je crée une politique pour les appareils de mes enfants afin de pouvoir gérer l'accès au site web "bloquer et autoriser" et quand ils peuvent utiliser Internet.

Qu'aimez-vous le plus à propos de the product?
Le coût d'obtention d'un pare-feu pfsense (avec support expert) est considérablement inférieur à ce qu'il en coûte pour adopter un appareil Cisco ou Palo Alto. Les logiciels complémentaires disponibles inclus avec pfsense (suricata, snort, etc.) font de pfsense un système de sécurité complet fw+IDS pour les entreprises de toute taille. Mon sentiment est que pfsense continuera à s'améliorer à mesure qu'il mûrit.
Que n’aimez-vous pas à propos de the product?
La seule chose que je changerais à propos de pfsense est le matériel sur lequel il fonctionne. Je pense qu'il serait formidable si les appareils pfsense étaient livrés à l'avenir avec des CPU et RAM plus robustes, pour rendre ces appareils encore plus compétitifs sur les marchés d'entreprise.
Quels sont les problèmes que the product résout, et en quoi cela vous est-il bénéfique?
Nous avons utilisé pfsense pour construire des tunnels point à point IPsec entre nos bureaux et également comme concentrateur VPN pour les utilisateurs mobiles et à domicile. Pfsense a très bien fonctionné pour notre utilisation.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to operate and manage. Not expert knowledge is required. A lot of addons avaiable. High stability. easy to deployment and extend security. easy monitoring in cluded.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes when somethins is wrong deep troubleshooting is needed. There is lack of cleaning procedure, of failure services, to easiest reinstall services, and addons
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Trustfull gateway, remote access by vpn. anti-virus scan improve feeling that we did what we could to protect us. Last time, blocking Geo-IP from dangerous regions.
Great UTM! Highly recommended

Modular design. Not only is the software robust and secure in its stock configuration, with the use of packages you can do much much more.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you are unfamiliar with the UI it can take some time to get used to. I'm still discovering extra functions of the UI to this day. (i.e the anchor button)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This level of security, either for free or at a very reasonable price, is a major factor in being able to secure business assets.

Can be a bit tricky to get the firewall configured correctly.

It is replacing 2 units, routers and firewall.

Full featured and rock solid
What do you like best about the product?
pfSense includes a ton of functionality and extensibility that work great for enterprises and home users alike. pfBlocker is great for minimizing the number of ads I'm subjected to.
What do you dislike about the product?
pfSense has a bit of a learning curve. As with all things, with options comes complexity. Sometimes digging into deep system tuning settings is challenging. For most use cases with adequate system specs this may not be much of an issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
pfSense provides rock solid routing and network services. My internal customers have performant, dependable internet connectivity. And happy users mean my life is happy.
For a professional work at home user with complex "work lab" requirements.
What do you like best about the product?
I do a mix of work and personal tasks, keeping my network organized, connected where it should and not where it shouldn't be, as well as secure overall is a must. It couldn't be easier with pfSense. The firewall is so easy to manipulate. The built-in WireGuard VPN support is fantastic. Any questions I ever have are always answered in the user communities (before I even ask them). Seamless support for HAProxy, pfBlockerNG, and Acme make complex configurations a breeze.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, I can't think of anything. I swear!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Network segmentation and just the right amount of interoperation.

Some of the apps like pfBlockerng are as add-on packages, it would be nice to have them integrated into the OS

Not being restricted in what you can setup. Easy to find help online.

Can be a little confusing at first. But using eg. videos from Lawrence Systems helps a lot

I need to be able to use policy based vpn routing. This makes it very easy to use the appropriate vpn for my different devices and/or use cases
