Comprehensive and Intuitive Database Monitoring with Room for Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I like how SolarWinds Database Observability offers real-time insights and easy-to-understand dashboards. It helps identify performance issues quickly and provides actionable recommendations, making database management more efficient and proactive.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I dislike is that it can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming for new users due to the amount of data it presents. The sheer volume of metrics and alerts might take some time to fully grasp, especially for teams without a lot of experience in database monitoring.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SolarWinds Database Observability helps identify performance bottlenecks and troubleshoot issues in real-time, which saves time and prevents disruptions. It gives clear insights into database health and query performance, making it easier to optimize and maintain smooth operations. This has significantly improved our ability to proactively manage databases and reduce downtime.

We can moniter multiple database record in single interface.it is easy to implement in any organisations to moniter multiple real time data in single frame .It can save man power in organisations.Also it leads to more occuracacy to make table and daigram in our oganisation.
What do you dislike about the product?
to handle it in organisation it require trannied person to mange it . Some time it is costly then other software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
By implementing solarwind database into our organisation we can save our time to make different reports in different formate .Also manager has difficult to analyse all report in defferent formate.its make our work easier and also save company time and money and increase proffit .

What do you like best about the product?
SolarWinds Database Observability provides deep visibility into database performance with an intuitive and user-friendly interface. I especially appreciate the real-time query monitoring, wait time analysis, and query plan visualizations, which make it easy to identify performance bottlenecks quickly. The tool supports multiple database platforms (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL), which is valuable in a heterogeneous environment. The customisable dashboards and alerting features are another highlight, allowing proactive monitoring and reducing the time to resolution.

While the feature set is robust, the initial setup and configuration can be a bit complex
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SolarWinds Database Observability is helping us solve the critical challenge of database performance visibility and root cause analysis. In the past, identifying slow-running queries, lock contention, or unusual spikes in resource usage required a lot of manual investigation and DBA expertise. With SolarWinds, we now get real-time insights into query performance, wait events, and system metrics, all in a single pane of glass.

What do you like best about the product?
The most significant advantage of Database Observability is the ability to monitor the long term changes in the databases’ activity. It makes it possible to identify workload changes over time and this can assist in proper allocation of resources. It is run in parallel with scheduling systems so that background processes do not interfere with peak times. This has helped to minimize disruptions and other such issues that would slow down the operations of the company.
What do you dislike about the product?
A disadvantage of Database Observability is that it produces a high number of alerts for minor fluctuations in performance. However, having many alerts for minor changes is not very useful as it makes it difficult to identify genuine issues. Also, tuning the alert settings requires some time and if not well done, it results in many distractions. These issues have at one time or another hindered our capacity to handle emergent database problems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team uses Database Observability to stop unnecessary resource expenditure by finding repetitive processing operations that require excessive power. Through these optimizations we achieved better work balance throughout the day for our system by optimizing queries and background processes. Observability of database operations enables us to discover inefficient patterns at the right time which helps lower operational expenses while improving time responses for critical programs. Due to our ongoing implementation of the system we could shift our attention toward business priorities instead of continuously solving system slowdowns.
Database Observability finally stopped our endless database performance issues
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy using the Database Observability because it shows us our database performance data. Our team struggled with too many database logs and performance numbers until now. Viewing trends and database issues has become easy. Our database performance data appears on a single display screen. Our time increases because it gives us notice when database issues may become hard to solve. Database Observability detected a slow query before it could create a performance bottleneck. Our quick action prevented a disastrous system slowdown from happening. This tool helps us avoid problems by detecting them first. Our team saves three hours per week because we use its detailed reports during our weekly meetings.
What do you dislike about the product?
The waiting time for data synchronization creates annoying delays. Our troubleshooting process hit a delay because the data needed time to sync. Database Observability often shows technical problems during use and I faced several times when the app interface froze so I needed to restart the application. The delay in syncing causes minor problems but does not prevent you from working.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our database system handles problem detection faster than before. Past observations of events always came too late to prevent damage from materializing. Our system now detects and addresses issues automatically without making it to our users. Thanks to Database Observability our database system operates with greater initiative than before. Our weak view into database performance now has a successful solution.

What do you like best about the product?
Its simply a set it and forget it. Gives us timely information so we can remediate issues as they have occured. Also provides a insight of the health of the DB structure.
What do you dislike about the product?
With the fields were more customizable. Also some of the analytics wish had more customizable features as well
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Shows us wait times on DB access times and allows us to make real time adjustments to help with customer expierences.

What do you like best about the product?
Simple to set up with command line, powershell module makes it easier for adding targets, managing them, conditions are directly exported. You just need to create yours additionally. Variety of actions, using powershell as an action is a big plus.

There is a room for improvement of performance monitoring

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Sentryone as a monitoring system, we monitor our databases, and set actions. Like send mail, execute powershell
For example when a sql service is down, sentryone detects it and execute a powershell on target and starts the service.
When there is failover, we use again send mail condition to create Pagerduty calls for DBA who is on call.
Other than this, we also monitor blockings and deadlocks, performance issues with certain queries etc.

Ability to easily drill down from high level alert/warnings to detailed information about performance slowness culprits

Volume of data presented can make it hard to focus on high/critical issues vs low priority issues.

Alerting on issues and automating responses.

What do you like best about the product?
The key feature that has accelerated our internal debugging of user reported issues is the ability to drill down to the timeframe the user reported issues and identify where the issue existed then work with our internal teams to resolve the service and query that is causing user experience issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
the reporting and email reporting navigation could be better. allowing for opening items in new tabs in an easier way.
