What do you like best about the product?
one of the few good working MFA vpn on-premise solutions
What do you dislike about the product?
you cannot buy 3 or 7 licenses and need to go for 10 users bundle, which is discouraging small customers. if you have need for 5 it is extremely unfair to pay foor 10 just because there is n other way
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
VPN with MFA
Simple but effective VPN solution (though needs a better web console)
What do you like best about the product?
We don't have too many login issues or dropped connections with OpenVPN. I've used other vpn services in the past and they can be a bit shaky at times causing disconnecitons or issues with users being able to log on.
We have had issues of those kinds with OpenVPN but they are usually solved quickly and happen fairly rare.
I'm also happy about the speed of the vpn network. I don't notice any significant delay's when on the vpn vs when off.

What do you dislike about the product?
I am the admin and the web-based gui console is very limited. You have to do things like reset mfa codes through a terminal. I wish I could just locate a user's account in the web console and reset there.
Seriously OpenVPN, this is something that should be possible.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
OpenVPN allows us to protect our IP and our customer's data behind the firewall and heavily restrict the access to outside users.
We are a fully remote company and without a solid VPN, we would not be able to function.

OpenVPN is a rather reliable tool, which rarely has problems and has high availability, but it lacks q
What do you like best about the product?
Resilience, with two servers, it is very rare not to have two servers available. This allows for high availability, which is important when there is on-call duty in a company.
What do you dislike about the product?
The updates are not frequent, and sometimes they are buggy. The beta testing might not be long enough. Some enterprise options are not finished, like the SSO, which is very important but unavailable when connecting to the panel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This allows us to connect to the on-prem servers of our infrastructure, and thus avoid exposing servers to the public.
Good product
What do you like best about the product?
It's quite stable and we rarely had any issues with the product.
What do you dislike about the product?
What we don't like is that we have to maintain the VM/server by ourselves. A complete end-to-end managed solution, which is easy to integrate into our existing VPC, might be in our interests for the future.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it to access services hosted within our VPC on GCP on client applications.
We have been using OpenVPN for 7 years

Allows our company to isolate internal infrastructure.
Overall easy to setup and configure. Online documentation is easy to follow and helpful support!
What do you like best about the product?
Support was quick and direct to the point to resolve issues. Documentation is detailed. Configuration is easy to maintain.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cannot really think of any, other than pricing was very competitive until 2024, when there was a drastic increase, thus forcing us to decrease our licences compared to what we used to have, and then incrementally increasing licenses to fill our max needs versus having extras always available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easilly allowing users to remote into the corporate network to access items not available otherwise.
Simplying Remote Access
What do you like best about the product?
It works well on all platforms where as competors products are not universally compatable.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Cost has gone up but the support and updates are also frequent and clear.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy SAML Intergration enabling Single Sign On taking workload off of administrators.
Simplicity at it's finest
What do you like best about the product?
It's simple and just works. There are plenty of settings you can adjust, but by default, either choose full-tunnel or split-tunnel. Set your private network CIDRs, setup authentication, and you're good to go!
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm sure others offer more advanced features, but I haven't found a great need for any of them.

Access to private networks is made a breeze
Easy to use for non-IT person
What do you like best about the product?
It already have a AMI in AWS. It is easy to manage and add new people to the VPN server access.

The cost is high comparatively speaking. Also memory utilization may not be optimized as I have run out CPU memory when more than 12 people joined the VPN.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To connect to AWS resources directly. Helps in securing and authenticating people connecting to business infrustructure from their remote home.
OpenVPN does the job

Simplicity, stability, and ease of implementation have been big for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a low-feature VPN. There is not a lot of the bells and whistles you see with other enterprise VPNs
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
OpenVPN is providing a low-management IT VPN solution for us on top of our standard user VPN.
