Easy to use, good support
What do you like best about the product?
straightforward gui (by far not as confusin as veeam)
creation of new objects as easy as pie
real bargain compared to veeam
creation of new objects as easy as pie
real bargain compared to veeam
What do you dislike about the product?
it appears to be not as robust as veeam - after one year of usage I already had 3 instances of corrupt repository (owing to less than optimal hardware but still...)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's a backup system, it does vm backup and restore and its cheap
Great Value VMWare Backup
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of Use and Cost. The Gui is entirely web based making administration easy from any PC in the school.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not a lot. Sometimes we have issues when we update to a new version of VMWare but this is fixed by upgrading Nakivo to the latest version
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It enables us to easily backup our virtual infrastructure at a fraction of the cost of Veeam which we were using previously.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A great alternative to other VMware backup solutions
Very intuitive, fast implementation, reliable functionality
What do you like best about the product?
The easy of implementation and the intuitive interface brings us a total VM backup solution embedded in QNAP. After review another products of the crowd of backup solutions, we decided for Nakivo.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only one admin can be logged, but we have various users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Securing our VM platform and a reliable source of backup for remediation of disasters.
Great product
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and very good price! Also, backups are very fast!
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing, everything works like we were expecting!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were searching for a good and reliable solution to implement and maintain.
Now, our client is very happy using NAKIVO Backup.

Incredibly easy to use and reliable backups with stellar support
What do you like best about the product?
We have been using Nakivo for years now, and it has been a rock solid choice. The interface is very intuitive with a low learning curve. The backup system itself is very performant and yet is not a resource hog. You may need to use more than one virtual appliance depending on how your backup repositories are setup (we have two VMs handling two repositories).
Easy to use
Set and forget
No tapes (obviously, but still)!

What do you dislike about the product?
Advanced users can tinker behind the scenes, but this product is really meant for to handle backups for you. If you need extreme control, you might want to try something else. On the other hand, Nakivo has some good automation in their product so you can run scripts before and/or after jobs, etc.
Honestly, the only negative I'd cite is very minor: the Pro version only allows a single admin account. We're a small company, so this isn't a huge deal, but we'd prefer not to have to share an admin account.
One more thing that's not really a dislike, but more of an improvement - I would love it if the daily backup report had a giant checkmark to indicate that everything succeeded or an X if something failed. Then I wouldn't have to skim down the entire list of jobs to see if they all succeeded.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Any hiccups we had were addressed quickly by their support staff and the product continues to mature along with VMware. When we were ready to switch to vCenter 6.5, Nakivo had the update to their product ready to go just in time.
Nakivo Backup
What do you like best about the product?
Software is very easy to setup and use. Very intuitive setup of backups jobs, transporters and storage devices. Monitoring of backup jobs shows backup speed and running backup time. Restores can be of a whole VM machine or just one folder or file. Overall an excellent product.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would like to see a stand alone console for monitoring backup jobs instead of monitoring jobs via a web browser.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Nakivo backup and Replication is a very affordable product with pricing based on a per cpu socket. Other products are much more expensive per esxi host backed up.
Superb Site Recovery!
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Nakivo on Synology for a long time, having it in a complex storage environment for backups together with dedicated backup solution. Recently came across Nakivo new version release with disaster recovery plan included and got impressed! Site Recovery embedded into the product as a feature, Nakivo does not deliver it as a separate product. Therefore, using Failover I can easily transfer workloads from VM to its replica and vice versa applying Failback! Have developed my personal DR plan and now I am always a step ahead!
What do you dislike about the product?
That I didn't discover Nakivo earlier it made life so much easier. :-)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easily transfer workloads from VM to its replica and vice versa applying Failback!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start your proof of concept ASAP and you will see that you won't regret trading in your existing solution for Nakivo.
Simple to deploy, reliable, affordable
What do you like best about the product?
Price and easy deployment on NAS, reliability, A very good software for Small companies that seems to be yet really stable .
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really, perhaps that we have to buy at least 2 licenses for pro version even if we have to equip a single server with one prcessor
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Backing up VM easily and quickly
Sleek, fast, easy to use and very affordable
What do you like best about the product?
I found Nakivo a few years ago while googling around looking for a solution for our new virtualization infrastructure. I had planned on going with Veeam originally, but was drawn to Nakivo's prices. In addition to their already cheap prices, I found that they offered non profit pricing as well. I figured I would try them out. This is the first virtualization product that I have setup myself, and I have say that it is gloriously simplistic. During my initial install, I was up and running backups within 10 minutes. After the initial backup, the incremental backups are very fast. We have 1.80TB of servers, one of which houses our roaming profiles. It takes about an hour and a half to run the incremental backups each night, and it takes me about 5 minutes to recover a server.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, I don't have much to complain about. This is a set it and forget it type deal. I run the occasional self recovers to be sure that its still working and so far, I haven't had a single corrupted backup after two years. I am having some slowness issues with our offsite backup over a VPN tunnel, but that is just a limitation of the throughput on the tunnel itself and not that of Nakivo.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Nakivo for both our onsite and offsite backups. We are using a Synology NAS on both ends. We are able to install the application directly onto the NAS itself giving us faster backup speeds and bypassing SMB speed limitations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give the trial a spin. you will know within half an hour that you need this product. For those 501(c)3 companies out there, ask about their non profit pricing.
Reliable and Cheapest VMs Replication Solution
What do you like best about the product?
I am using it from last one year and find it reliable and cheapest product for VM replication, its easy to deployment and management. Nakivo support is good and i am fully satisfy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Havn't found any issue but need to understand what a transporter and repository are how to install them. once you understand it your good to go.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Timely data VMs replicate
