Strong Dashboards with Easy D3 Integration, Limited by Row Caps

  • August 18, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Simple to use for building reports and charts, with smooth integration of visualizations in both JasperReports Server and Studio. It also allows exporting JRXML-based report pages programmatically through Java.
What do you dislike about the product?
Configuring and maintaining input controls in multi-tenant environments can be time-consuming. Reports with very large datasets are also restricted by the configured row limits, often leading to a “number of rows exceeded” error.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jaspersoft helps us easily build and share reports and charts, with flexible export options that save time. The main challenge it solves is centralizing reporting for multi-tenant environments, which makes it easier to manage and distribute insights across different users. However, managing input controls can still be time-consuming, and very large datasets sometimes hit configured row limits.

TIBCO Jasper soft-Server After 4 Years: "Strengths" and "Challenges”

  • July 31, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Jaspersoft is its flexibility and effective reporting capabilities, especially how it supports complex, customisable reports with a variety of data sources. Features like multi-tenancy and scheduling really stand out because they streamline operations and enable effective report automation. Plus, the wide range of export options makes it easy to share insights in multiple formats that suit the audience. All this combined makes Jaspersoft a strong choice for businesses needing tailored and scalable reporting solutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike most about Jaspersoft is the user interface, which can feel a bit clunky and outdated, making it less intuitive—especially for new users. Also, the performance issues when dealing with large datasets or complex reports can be much better, as it sometimes slows down or struggles to handle big data efficiently. These factors can add to the learning curve and impact overall productivity. which I faced from my client's end.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jaspersoft is primarily solving the challenge of creating, managing, and distributing complex reports and dashboards from diverse data sources in an enterprise environment. For me, it’s been a powerful tool to automate report generation and delivery through scheduling, which saves a lot of manual effort and ensures timely insights. Its multi-tenancy support allows me to easily manage reports across different departments or clients without data mix-ups, which is a big plus in multi-user setups.

The limitations, like shortening, special characters, and a few others, are solved while it gets upgrades; it's really benefiting a lot.

By offering multiple export formats, it’s helped me share insights in ways that best fit different stakeholders—whether they prefer Excel for analysis or PDFs for presentations. Overall, it brings efficiency, scalability, and flexibility to our reporting workflows, enabling better decision-making without a heavy lift on the technical side.

Good and Useful

  • July 29, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I frequently using Jasper reports, and as per my opinion, we can customize our reports and generate reports easily.

Customer support is quite good.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's old design, required more friendly designs. We can't integrate all required tables to customize our reports, and it's required code changes.

Required prior knowledge of implementation to generate any reports accurately.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps to generate report so we can build and customize our own reports and dashboards without any DB/ IT support.

Jasper server,Jasper Studio - Reports , Dashboards, Exports

  • July 24, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use for developing reports, charts, and integrating D3 charts in both the server and studio, along with export functionalities.
Supports exporting JRXML-generated report pages using Java code.
What do you dislike about the product?
Editing and creating input controls for multi-tenant configurations in Jasper takes more time.
There is a limitation on the number of records that can be loaded in reports—only the specified record count is allowed. Beyond that, it throws a 'number of rows exceeded' exception.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To generate the reports and dashboards and helps to see it in visualize form

Testing Jaspersoft for dashboards and real-time data analysis.

  • January 20, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I used it to create dashboards on dummy sales data, just to compare it with other tools that I had the chance to use. I liked that it had a connection to multiple output formats, which are universal, which allows for better integration. Exploring it was nice, because of the open-source. I would say that two of the best things about it are the wide data-source support (SQL and No-SQL databases, files etc) and the fact that it can be easily embedded into different applications.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the main problems was the lack of documentation, making the learning curve a bit steeper, but other than that I would say that with time it is easy to use it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows accessibility of data throughout different applications, customization (which is very important), and it is quite universal and easy to integrate. It allows for real-time data-driven decision making.

Fantastic for Pixel Perfect Design; Doesn't Meet Expectations for Embedded Reporting

  • May 23, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jaspersoft's pixel perfect Desktop Studio platform helps our company to create attractive reports accurately (PDFs, Excel documents, etc.). It meets our expectations.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have struggled getting Jaspersoft embedded analytics to fit into our proprietary software the way we would like it to. We have faced some limitations with both Studio's analytics tools as well as the Ad Hoc tools. Neither can quite meet our expectations because Studio is iFrame-based (we need dynamic resizing of widgets) and Ad Hoc is too simple for the complex widgets we hope to produce.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our Jaspersoft expert has helped us to explore ways to make the embedded analytics work inside our software. Though our Jaspersoft representative has been absolutely fantastic to work with, the product itself can quite reach to our expectations. We have explored all avenues and seem to keep running into limitations with the embedded analytics piece.
