Exceptionally Easy to Use—A Step Up from Report Builder
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use. We were using Report Builder-which is a great tool-for YEARS and Jaspersoft in some ways reminds me of Report Builder but it's also so much easier to use! Haven't been using Jaspersoft very long but so far it's a great tool!
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much but you have to use the to_date on a date range and if you don't add the to_date you will not get the correct beginning or ending for the report
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Building reports is very similar to what we had but so much easier than what we had. No frames and just add it to the section and adding a total field or any additions to the report are so SIMPLE!
Modern Framework with Impressive Quality-of-Life Features
What do you like best about the product?
It's a much newer framework than what we'd been using, with some important QoL features.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some additional features and workflow adjustments that could be added to make our migration to the platform easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our existing platform has hit EoL, so we're now migrating to Jaspersoft for all new development, plus moving old items in.
Effortless Setup and Outstanding Customer Support
What do you like best about the product?
I am an admin and it is very easy to setup and the Customer Support is very good if you have issues. Upgrades are fairly simple since most is automated. we have 9 environments and tools works well in all environments with only a context change and a few other location specific changes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I am only sent web pages to filter through in order to figure out issues where the support rep could just tell me what to do

it is a business reporting tool for our customers- I am not a user
Effortless Reporting, Needs UI Refresh
What do you like best about the product?
I love the ease of use when it comes to connecting to a data source and building reports with Jaspersoft. I also appreciate the customization support it offers using the REST APIs, which help us in scheduling, exporting, and bookmarking the reports based on our needs. The ease of report building saves us time when it comes to creating reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the UI could be more attractive with a minimalist look. Jaspersoft could also improve by building modules for different features, allowing report builders to add or remove functionalities based on needs. A low code/no code approach with a drag-and-drop feature would be great. It took us some time and help to set up initially, but we eventually got used to it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Jaspersoft for operational reporting and visualization, solving the problem of exposing curated reports effortlessly to end users. It connects easily to data sources and helps us build reports faster, with REST APIs aiding in scheduling and exporting.
Effortless Access and a Simple, Intuitive Interface
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of access and simple interface. It makes generating ad-hoc reports easy and creating reports with Jaspersoft
What do you dislike about the product?
Though you've made it as easy as possible, sometimes the processes of upgrading the software or configuring it is daunting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jaspersoft is providing daily reporting for a standard 19 reports we need in our business. This is allowing us to provide accurate reporting and accounting for how the previous day went and also allowing us the insight into areas where we can improve. It's a really good BI product.
Supportive Team and Excellent Assistance
What do you like best about the product?
Friendly colleagues, who are always available if needed and good support

The license conversion took quite a long time, which unfortunately led to significant delays.

Effortless JRXML Deployment, Intuitive Drag-and-Drop Reporting and scheduling feature
What do you like best about the product?
The main advantage is that deploying JRXML files is straightforward, thanks to the export and import features available in the Jasper Server console.
Instead of creating reports with xmls or json we can build it block by block as easy as drag and drop.

What do you dislike about the product?
The process of creating ad-hoc reports and dashboards, as well as customizing the user interface, could use some enhancements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main issue I faced was with exporting or displaying reports containing more than 500,000 records, as this process took a significant amount of time and often caused the page to become unresponsive. However, the built-in scheduling feature in Jaspersoft proved to be extremely helpful in addressing this problem.
Flexible Reporting Tool with Configuration Versatility
What do you like best about the product?
I like Jaspersoft for its flexibility and ease of management. The ability to configure and output in various formats stands out to me, making it adaptable to different needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
We seem to have an issue with the number of queries that can be made concurrently.

Jaspersoft allows business users to interrogate our transactional database effectively.
Pixel Perfect Reports and Excel Integration Elevate Our BI Experience
What do you like best about the product?
It has the ability to produce Pixel Perfect reports to BI dashboards. The ability to create formatted Excel workbooks with actual formulas is huge for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
When using the API to schedule reports there is not an API to get the status of the report. You cannot programmatically check the status of the report to see if it completed or errored.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to product formatted Excel workbooks. Our clients needed these and Jaspersoft allows us to satisfy their needs.
Responsive Support, But Customization Costs Add Up
What do you like best about the product?
Jaspersoft customer support is very responsive and has a fairly quick turnaround time.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you want to customize certain features in your Jasper build, you'll have to engage with the Jasper customer success team which costs extra. Everytime there is a new release or hotfix, you'll likely have to spend money each time to have the customer success team modify your customization code to accommodate new releases or hotfixes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability for our users to create their own reports has been hugely beneficial.
