Scalable Reports & done the better optimized dashboard activities
What do you like best about the product?
Jaspersoft offers a highly scalable and flexible reporting solution, especially useful for organizations dealing with large datasets. The drag-and-drop report designer makes it easy to build pixel-perfect reports. Integration with various data sources like SQL, NoSQL, and cloud services is seamless. Its embeddable nature allows developers to incorporate powerful reporting features directly into their applications, saving time and enhancing user experience. The server-based scheduling and distribution features are robust, enabling automated report delivery via email or FTP.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Jaspersoft is feature-rich, the learning curve can be steep for non-technical users, especially when designing complex reports or handling customizations via JRXML. Documentation can be inconsistent or outdated in some areas, requiring community forums or trial-and-error to resolve issues. Additionally, the UI of the JasperReports Server could benefit from a more modern and intuitive redesign. Performance can lag slightly when rendering reports with heavy visual components or large datasets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jaspersoft helps us solve the challenge of delivering dynamic, data-driven reports to both internal stakeholders and external clients at scale. Previously, generating custom reports required manual intervention or building ad hoc tools. With Jaspersoft, we can automate report creation, distribution, and even embed interactive dashboards into our platform. This has significantly reduced development time, improved data visibility, and empowered business users to make faster, data-informed decisions without relying on engineering support. It also supports multi-tenant reporting, which is crucial for our SaaS model.

What do you dislike about the product?
The initial setup can be a bit complex for new users, and documentation could be more beginner-friendly. Performance may slightly lag when handling very large datasets or complex queries.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jaspersoft helps solve the challenge of delivering real-time, customizable reports and dashboards across multiple departments. It enables us to embed reporting capabilities directly into our applications, reducing the need for external BI tools. What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike most about Jaspersoft is the user interface, which can feel a bit clunky and outdated, making it less intuitive—especially for new users. Also, the performance issues when dealing with large datasets or complex reports can be much better, as it sometimes slows down or struggles to handle big data efficiently. These factors can add to the learning curve and impact overall productivity. which I faced from my client's end.

Jaspersoft is primarily solving the challenge of creating, managing, and distributing complex reports and dashboards from diverse data sources in an enterprise environment. For me, it’s been a powerful tool to automate report generation and delivery through scheduling, which saves a lot of manual effort and ensures timely insights. Its multi-tenancy support allows me to easily manage reports across different departments or clients without data mix-ups, which is a big plus in multi-user setups.

Jaspersoft exposes APIs for managing reports, users, roles, scheduling, etc hence its easy to automate with tools like Postman, REST Assured, or JMeter . we can do Parameterization Testing , role based testing ,Scheduler testing.

The best part is the ability to design custom reports using Jaspersoft Studio with dynamic parameters and expressions. It integrates well into Java applications and supports fine-grained control over layout and data formatting.

While Jaspersoft is powerful, the learning curve can be steep, especially when working with complex report designs or custom expressions in JasperReports. The UI in Jaspersoft Studio can also feel a bit outdated and occasionally slow, particularly with larger templates. Additionally, debugging issues in report rendering isn’t always straightforward
