Professional Streaming / VOD workhorse with plenty of features
What do you like best about the product?
It's very stable and it runs nicely on Linux platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Updating installation is not so easy, when you have custom configurations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wowza handles high amount of different incoming video streams and encodes them with NVIDIA GPU's to smaller bitrates and resolutions. It also provides Video On Demand files. Wowza has also nice REST API to connect other apps to it.
Enterprise Wowza expirience
What do you like best about the product?
Wowza is a very robust streaming service that I use on a weekly service and I like that is completely reliable and it had never fail me. I like the easy way to use and that integrates with my software that I use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like wowza to have closed captions and a chat because it lacks of those features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use wowza video service as my main streaming service to stream all the company meetings and town halls.

What do you like best about the product?
Wowza plays major role in streaming my online channels. so far so good. control pannels are user friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Whenever any issue raise. they ask for log. in log we couldnt able figure out the issue. support system is not user friendly.

What do you like best about the product?
Wowza Streaming is a robust and reliable platform that offers a high level of flexibility for live and on-demand video streaming. The API and SDK support is excellent, allowing for deep customization and integration into custom workflows or apps.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wowza can be complex and has a steep learning curve for new users. Setting up advanced configurations often requires a solid understanding of streaming technologies and networking. The documentation is thorough but sometimes difficult to navigate, and support can be slow unless you’re on a premium plan. Additionally, the pricing model may not be ideal for smaller organizations or individual creators, as costs can add up quickly depending on bandwidth and streaming hours.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wowza solves the hard, infrastructure-level headaches of modern video delivery—protocol juggling, scaling, security, and observability—so our team can focus on content and product features that actually move the needle. The result has been faster launches, fewer fires to fight, and a noticeably better viewer experience.
Live Stream with Wowza
What do you like best about the product?
Wowza provides a good streaming platforms to the organization. As a company, we conducting multiple Live stream webinars and introductions to security platforms, this has been a great solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have experience when hosting on-premise, the deployment had some challenges and took lot of our time. Also, we experienced when attaching our banner even with correct file format, it notifies as the file format is incorrect.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For our webniar sessions, Wowza was a great help. Also, it gives to schedule Advetisment for the sessions and the management of our session took place without missig any details. The quality of the content was really good.
Great for streaming

Very easy to use and looks great. Useful for streaming company events

Reviewing log files when issues occur or WSE crashes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We ingest camera streams from a variety of churches in different countries and Wowza performs the live streaming and also allows us to record services in those churches.
Rock solid video streaming engine for video on demand
What do you like best about the product?
We've been using Wowza to serve out videos on demand for over 4 years now. Rock solid software with some great security features too. The engine itself is customizable via a Java plugin if you need more advanced features!
What do you dislike about the product?
Very few downsides. Perhaps pricing, depending on how many instances you need to run - but not an issue at our scale.

Wowza is our video player that serves out video on demand to our customers.
Powerful platform with excellent API
What do you like best about the product?
Wowza provides us with a solid platform with exactly the features and interfaces (web/API) that my team needs in order to manage streaming from our in-person events. The Wowza team is responsive and helpful. We have been able to easily leverage Wowza to better control and integrate with our event platform and mobile application.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't anything in particular that sticks out to dislike about the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our event platform does not allow us to automatically start / stop streams at the time for our speakers' sessions at our in-person events. Leveraging Wowza we are able to schedule the start and stop so the streams are routed to the proper destination within our event app.
Good, solid, reliable software
What do you like best about the product?
It always works. The application has never crashed, and can always be counted on being available. Being a self-contained Java application, it's never affected by OS updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Being a Java application, it is a bit heavy on memory usage. Licensing has room for improvement. A "perpetual license" requires an annual renewal fee if you want updates. Updates are advertised and available whether you pay the annual fee or not, and if you don't, they threaten to shut down your software remotely unless you catch up on fees. They are now more transparent about this, but functionally it's still the same process. Lastly, the software dials home to the mothership and won't run if the license is in use somewhere else. This is a somewhat understandable approach, except it's impossible to have a hot disaster recovery server on standby. In the event of a disaster, a DR server has to be manually configured with the correct version and configuration of Wowza.

Wowza Streaming Engine allows us to distribute our live streams, as well as video on demand, as wide as possible through scalable cloud servers with high bandwidth connections.
