Live Streams

What do you like best about the product?
I use Wowza to stream multiple live Zoom feeds for client viewing and it’s been solid. The streams are reliable and smooth, which is exactly what I need for live events.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only complaint is the yearly price increases — I don’t raise my rates to clients, so it makes it tough to absorb.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
no problems at the moment.

Helpful and fast streams

  • August 05, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I could not believe the fast processing and quick response times I was getting when using the API for the first time. It is snapping fast and there has been no downtime yet.
What do you dislike about the product?
The User Interface leaves something to wonder about.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the past, using our own servers and servers hosted in the cloud for the whole processing and storage has been a real hassle. I am able to let my engineers work on the dashboard rather than managing servers with Wowza.

Empowering Developers with Seamless Video Delivery

  • August 05, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I’ve worked with a variety of streaming platforms, and Wowza Streaming stands out for its exceptional performance and reliability. Whether you're deploying Wowza Streaming Engine on-premises or leveraging Wowza Streaming Cloud, the experience is consistently seamless.

Wowza empowers teams to deliver high-quality video and audio to any device, anywhere in the world. Its flexibility across deployment models and robust support for low-latency streaming make it an ideal solution for both live broadcasts and on-demand content. The platform’s scalability and integration capabilities, especially with cloud services and AI workflows, make it a powerful asset for any organization looking to elevate its streaming strategy.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial configuration of Wowza Streaming can be complex, especially for beginners. This involves setting up protocols, encoding settings, and server configurations with many choices that can be confusing on the outset. But once you get it working, it pretty much just works.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've utilized Wowza for testing live streaming, particularly during development of AI Vision solutions and found that it was extremely reliable. On the start of any project, I typically head over to the Big Buck Bunny stream and start working with that to test my client code, then begin my buildout of the real solution.

Streaming Engine quick and easy

  • May 22, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I was firstly introduced to Wowza by a friend who told me they had integrated the Streaming Engine into their platform. This intrigued me and led me to try it out myself. After reading the documentation, which really is just a two minute read, I was able to set the correct settings and it worked first time. Honestly, Wowza came at the right time for us and we are now in the process of integrating their APIs into our platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI for the mobile view overflows the screen and the user experience (UX) looks rather old for such a well working product. I suppose this might be the flair - keep the product quick and simple, so the UI should be too?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using their APIs, I can integrate a Live Stream much quicker and easier for the users of my platform to see.

Rock-Solid Streaming Engine for Long-Term Success – 7 Years and Still Going Strong

  • May 22, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I’ve been using Wowza Streaming Engine for over 7 years (currently on version 4.9.0+3), and it’s been the backbone of our live streaming platform. While it was a bit challenging to set up initially especially since I didn’t have a support plan the online forums and documentation were extremely helpful. Once configured, it has worked flawlessly. It supports all devices and operating systems, making it perfect for streaming live cameras on a public website.

Pros:
• Extremely stable and reliable once configured
• Streams work seamlessly across all browsers and platforms
• Highly customizable for advanced setups
• Excellent documentation and active community forums
What do you dislike about the product?
Cons:
• Steep learning curve for beginners
• UI feels a bit dated
• Support requires an additional cost

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wowza Streaming Engine enables us to broadcast multiple live camera feeds to our website without interruption. It handles device and browser compatibility with ease, which has saved us countless hours and ensured a great experience for our viewers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wowza Streaming Engine allows me to run my own live streaming server independently without relying on third-party platforms. This gives me full control over our infrastructure and removes the need for recurring licensing fees per camera or stream. As long as the server hardware is powerful enough, I can scale up and stream as many live cameras as I want making it extremely cost effective and flexible for a growing network.

Wowza Streaming

  • May 22, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Wowza Streaming is a robust and reliable platform that offers a high level of flexibility for live and on-demand video streaming. One of its standout features is the support for multiple streaming protocols like HLS, RTMP, and WebRTC, which makes it adaptable to a wide range of broadcasting needs. The API and SDK support is excellent, allowing for deep customization and integration into custom workflows or apps.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wowza can be complex and has a steep learning curve for new users. Setting up advanced configurations often requires a solid understanding of streaming technologies and networking. The documentation is thorough but sometimes difficult to navigate, and support can be slow unless you’re on a premium plan. Additionally, the pricing model may not be ideal for smaller organizations or individual creators, as costs can add up quickly depending on bandwidth and streaming hours.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wowza solves the hard, infrastructure-level headaches of modern video delivery—protocol juggling, scaling, security, and observability—so our team can focus on content and product features that actually move the needle. The result has been faster launches, fewer fires to fight, and a noticeably better viewer experience.
