Rock-Solid Streaming with Great Extensibility, Minor Setup Hurdles
What do you like best about the product?
Wowza Streaming Server is rock solid, we usually use it in every streaming event we do mainly as as a transcoder to feed Akamai CDN.
We also use it in some customer auction projects to stream real time feeds to clients.
We really appreciate the stability and quality of service, we never ever had a technical problem during the past 8 years of use.
We also appreciate extensibility with plugins and developers API we had the chance to use in some more specific use cases and scenarios.

Convenient Streaming, Needs User-Friendly Improvements
What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate how Wowza Streaming allows me to stream to multiple platforms without manual intervention, which simplifies the broadcasting of my bible study classes significantly. The convenience of being able to stream seamlessly, including integration with my mobile app, is a standout feature for me. I also value its affordability and the compatibility it provides with the various platforms I use. These aspects make it a valuable tool for my streaming needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the user-friendliness lacking, making Wowza Streaming less intuitive to navigate. The ease of use is not satisfactory, leading to difficulties during initial setup, especially when transitioning services between different devices like desktops and laptops. Interaction and communication with customer support is not seamless, creating a barrier when assistance is needed. Furthermore, I face integration challenges, particularly when streaming through Zoom to multiple platforms, which requires additional support.

A solid solution for our streaming content
What do you like best about the product?
The setup and ease of use allowed us to quickly get our videos to our users. Most of the options we needed where there right from the get go. Once we got the hang of it, it was easy to implement things like a streamlock to secure our videos as well as some other checks to make sure our content is secure.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only a minor gripe as our team doesn't have a native Java programmer. So we had to come to grips with the basics of it to add some functionality to lock streams to only be allowed from specific URL's
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allowed us to stream videos without progressive download issues; the fact that it is a dedicated server makes it easier for us to ensure we got enough capacity to keep things running smoothly.

What do you dislike about the product?
While Wowza Streaming works well for our audiobook use case, the initial setup required a steep learning curve, especially for configuring optimal audio-only streaming settings. The documentation is detailed but can feel overwhelming for new users. But Worth it.

Distributing live streams from outdoor webcams for multiple users.
One of the best streaming solutions on the market
What do you like best about the product?
Honestly, Wowza just works. Once you get it set up, it's incredibly reliable for live streams and on-demand video, handling everything from small events to 24/7 channels without breaking a sweat. It plays nicely with any device or browser, which is a huge relief. I also love the flexibility - whether you run it on your own servers or use their cloud, and the APIs are great for integrating into custom setups. Plus, scaling up doesn't mean paying per stream, which saves us serious money.
What do you dislike about the product?
Getting started can be rough - the setup is pretty complex, especially if you're new to streaming. The interface feels a bit dated, especially on mobile, and the licensing has a quirk: your license key isn't locked to your server IP by default, which could let someone else use it (happened to me once - support fixed it, but it was stressful). Direct support also costs extra, and overall, it’s pricey for smaller teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solved our biggest headaches: unreliable streams, buffering, and format issues. Now, we deliver smooth, high-quality video globally without constant troubleshooting. This means happier viewers, fewer support tickets, and more time to focus on growing our business instead of fixing tech fires. For us, it’s all about peace of mind and scalability.
