How has it helped my organization?
N2WS is a perfect backup solution for AWS EC2 instances and VPC backups. It has made our backup process and monitoring simple and effective.
What is most valuable?
Policy creation is straightforward, with automatic backups of new resources enabled through tagging. Instance recovery is seamless, whether within the same VPC or across different VPCs.
File-level restores are intuitive and easy to manage, while full VPC backups provide critical protection and peace of mind in the event of a disaster. In addition, lifecycle management and automated transitions to lower-cost storage tiers have been instrumental in optimizing costs while meeting compliance and retention requirements.
The ability to create immutable backups further strengthens our business continuity strategy by ensuring an additional layer of protection against accidental or malicious data loss.
What needs improvement?
Improved disaster recovery options and expanded multicloud support are two areas where N2WS has already made significant advancements in the latest version. I am eager to upgrade and take full advantage of these enhancements.

I previously used native AWS Backup, but N2WS provided me with a better platform and features.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I believe N2WS offers a highly competitive pricing model, delivering excellent value. It is certainly a worthwhile investment, providing a strong return on investment (ROI).
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Aside from native AWS Backup, I did not evaluate other cloud backup vendors. N2WS came highly recommended, and I am confident in my decision to select them as our backup and recovery solution. As it turns out, it was one of the best decisions for the organization.
What other advice do I have?
N2WS is a powerful solution with a rich set of features designed to address even the most complex backup and disaster recovery requirements. I have tested it across multiple recovery scenarios, and it has consistently delivered as promised.
I am excited to explore the new features as the platform continues to expand its capabilities. In today’s world, where data protection is more critical than ever, N2WS provides the reliability and confidence I need.

What do you dislike about the product?
Some updates require to launch a new instance to keep the CPM updated. If you are obsessed with security, you need to know that you´ll need a third party IDP compatible with SAML 2.0 to enable double authentication to your CPM users. Unfortunately, you can't protect your root account with this because of a limitation on the CPM side. Rotate root passwords are the only way to prevent unauthorized access. N2WS is a great team that is keeping the solution updated with new features very often to be one of the best AWS backup and recovery software, so I'm completely sure that they will improve or implement a solution to improve it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
N2WS CPM allows us to manage a large amount of AWS accounts efficiently from one console without losing visibility of their protected resources. It was a must.
We saved time and resources deploying the CPM. We have a clear image of how backup and recovery are implemented in our organization. Our customers are using the CPM as a SaaS, and we got good feedback from them, especially, after the last CPM release (3.1)

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to send backup directly to S3 to save money, with the new version 3.1, we don't even need to store snapshot, they are sent directly to S3.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes we need to recreate the N2WS instance to upgrade the product, the operation is fast but as we are on a production environment, it's difficult to have time to upgrade the product between 2 backup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The possibility to recover any files directly from a snapshot without the need to recreate a volume. Then the capability too send backup to S3 with licecycle management is great, we send backup to S3 Standard, then S3 IA, and S3 Glacier.

N2WS uses the excellent AWS snapshot technology as a foundation, but adds a lot of features that are not present in the native AWS Backup service.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be seen as an advantage at the same time, in a sense that you control the software and where it runs, but it would be helpful if this were a SaaS service.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As an MSP, we like the multi-tenancy. But it also adds support for cross account and cross region backups, application consistent backups, dry run restore tests and much more.

It's so simple to use, and have all of your backup information on a single dashboard.

been working with the product for the past 2.5 years and still completely satisfied with all aspects of using it.

It is the only AWS backup solution that intelligently uses AWS functionality instead of trying to graft cloud functionality onto a traditional backup software.

There have been a few problems with 3.0 that required multiple patches and upgrades but now they have it ironed out and working.
Support is only available via e-mail which makes it hard to troubleshoot the issue. The few times we have been able to get a Zoom meeting or a phone call have been much more effective.

We are able to backup our environment as well as have a great DR system in place. It makes it a lot simpler.

The best cloud backup management system I've used yet
The great thing about this system is that it utilizes and integrates with so many of AWS's services. The ability to backup and manage resources outside of the account where CPM is deployed is extremely valuable to MSPs and tech companies who are spread out into multiple AWS accounts. Lastly, I love the fact that the development team is so active with updates and adding new functionality, it amazes me how often (and how many) new features appear within the interface on a regular basis.
I gave the product 5-stars because of it's reliability and the fact that they haven't let me down yet. I will say that anyone getting into this product should know that the support is only e-mail based, it's not like calling traditional Veeam support and getting an engineer on the phone. That being said, in extenuating circumstances, they have provided phone support but this is somewhat unusual, given their support model.
I would choose this product again and again.
