What do you like best about the product?
Imperva Web Application Firewall (WAF) for its strong security features, including effective protection against web application vulnerabilities and attacks. Its advanced bot protection capabilities, flexible policy management, integration with threat intelligence, compliance support, and responsive technical support are also frequently cited as valuable attributes.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial setup and configuration process can be complex and require a lot of time and technical expertise. It is not easy for somebody who is new to the platform. It also gives false positives or false negatives, which can affect the accuracy of blocking or allowing certain traffic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Imperva WAF helped me proactively defend our web applications against a wide range of cyber threats, protect sensitive data, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain the availability and integrity of our online services.

The solution is cloud-based and offers us good uptime. It has combined web and API security. Therefore, with one license, you access both application security and also API security.
What needs improvement?
I would like to improve the tool's turnaround time in terms of support.

I have been working with the solution for three years.

I have never had any issues on stability.

UI can be improvised so that administrators can easily handle it and make their websites secure.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before implementing Imperva our team observed so much of random traffic with different attack payloads of sqli and xss. Now after Imperva we feel secure as we know that we are secure and can't be exploited from the web end side.

Name value seems weak, so it is difficult to understand for customer side.

Good solution for Website bot protection
What do you like best about the product?
- Imperva provides one of the leading WAF solution for websites. We use it on one of our e-commerce website with millions of users per month
- The low maintenance required for the service help us focus on the core website and let imperva take care of the bot protection

What do you dislike about the product?
Do not have much to dislike. Have had couple of instances where internal services were blocked by bot protection - but adding the right headers fixed it quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Imperva protects our website API from bots. It also acts as a proxy to route traffic to various internal services. It also have added advantages like having the most up to date data base of known threats which help mitigate new risks quickly - even without the dev team not involved.

It is having advanced bad bot mitigation, low cost to ownership, activation only requires DNS change, superior persistent threat protection and many more.

I found it quite reliable and efficient to use however UI can be made more friendly

It helps in giving us control over access public web servers, helped to block based on geographic areas which was not available with our regular hosting provider.
Fast and Accurate Web Application and APIs protection solution
What do you like best about the product?
Imperva WAF offers extremely comfortable admin life with its well advanced GUI features. Usage of automation and less false positives makes it a better solution for everyone who is concerned about HTTP level security. Integration with on-premise and cloud based application works smoother and reporting feature is also accurate.
What do you dislike about the product?
While adding new rules and filters according to customer need, WAF offers less options for testing purpose. Lack of real world use cases always been a challenge while implementing some requirements. Default WAF rule limit is less compared with other solutions. Third party security integration sometimes creates small latency.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I Can easily troubleshoot customer issues by viewing the WAF dashboard based on their case details. Rule addition is smoother with the help of automation features. More visibility into end point devices and payload contents. Detection and prevention feature helps to reduce risk in production environment.

Imperva Web Application Firewall helped the security team to enhance our DevSecOps delivery framework by being a security shield for our ingress of external traffic and protecting our API calls against the OWASP10.
What do you dislike about the product?
The licensing in Imperva is quite harsh and doesn't consider the staging and production URLs. In multiple environments, the license metric will be increased by several URL entries.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Imperva WAF compensated for the security vulnerabilities associated with some software deliveries and remediated the top 10 OWASP vulnerabilities. It was as well a good entry point for our API calls inspection.
