You pay by the hour for a preconfigured LEMP stack on Ubuntu 24. The software runs on your chosen Amazon EC2 instance, and each instance type is a separate billing dimension. Prices scale with the compute power you pick. Smaller shared-CPU instances (t-family) fit light workloads. General-purpose (m-family), compute-optimized (c-family), memory-optimized (r, x, z families), storage-optimized (d, i, h families), and accelerated GPU or machine-learning instances (g, p, inf, trn, dl, vt families) support heavier needs. You are billed only for the hours each instance runs, so cost tracks your actual usage.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I actually get for the hourly charge on each instance type?
You get a preconfigured LEMP stack (Linux, NGINX, MySQL/MariaDB, PHP) on Ubuntu 24, running on the Amazon EC2 instance type you select. The instance type you pick sets the CPU, memory, and storage. Each type is billed as its own per-hour dimension, so the resources scale with your choice.
Am I charged when my EC2 instance is stopped or paused?
The software fee meters only the hours an instance runs. A fully stopped instance stops accruing the hourly software charge. Underlying AWS storage for the volume may still incur separate AWS fees, but the LEMP stack license bills running time only.
Can I switch to a different instance type later, and how does that affect my bill?
Yes. Each instance type is a separate billing dimension charged per hour. If you move to another type, billing follows the new type's hourly rate for the hours it runs. You pay only for the type you run, with no upfront commitment.
