This AMI contains Java-1.8(JRE and JDk).The Java runtime environment (JRE) is a part of the Java Development Kit (JDK) and consists of the Java Virtual Machine (JVM), Java class libraries, and the Java class loader. The JRE enables the execution of Java applications across different operating systems without modification. The JDK includes the JRE and provides additional tools such as compilers and debuggers for developing Java applications. Together, they create a sustainable environment that allows Java-based applications to run seamlessly on any platform.

One unit is one running AWS EC2 instance of the type you select, billed per hour. The rate covers the packaged Java 1.8 software on CentOS Stream 9 with Hanwei support. It does not include the underlying AWS compute charge, which AWS bills separately.
Software charges accrue only while the instance runs. A stopped instance stops software metering. You may still owe AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but the Hanwei software rate meters running hours only.
Each instance type carries its own hourly rate. Moving from a smaller type like t3.nano to a larger one like c6i.16xlarge raises your hourly software charge. The change takes effect when you launch the new instance. Billing follows whichever instance is currently running.
