You pay by the hour for CentOS Stream 10 running on your chosen Arm-based (aarch64) EC2 instance. Each dimension maps to one instance type, so pricing scales with the compute you select. Options span general-purpose (m-series, a1, t4g), compute-optimized (c-series), memory-optimized (r-series, x-series), storage-focused (i4g, im4gn, is4gen), high-performance computing (hpc7g), and graphics (g5g) families. Within each family, hourly cost rises with size, from small (medium, large) up to metal and multi-xlarge configurations. You are billed only for the hours each instance runs, with no upfront commitment.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What am I paying for in this hourly charge, and does it include the operating system?
You pay for CentOS Stream 10 running on an Arm-based (aarch64) EC2 instance, plus vendor support. The hourly rate covers the software and support license. Separate AWS compute, storage, and network charges for the instance itself are billed by AWS and are not part of this rate.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or paused?
The hourly software charge meters running time only. When you stop an instance, the software charge stops accruing. Note that AWS may still bill for attached storage while the instance is stopped, but that is an AWS charge, separate from this software license.
How do I move between instance types if my compute needs change?
Each dimension bills one instance type per hour. If you resize to a different type, billing follows the new type's hourly rate for the hours it runs. There is no upfront commitment, so you can switch instance families or sizes as your workload changes.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
