Overview
FactoryTalk DataMosaix is Rockwell Automation's new Industrial DataOps and Data Hub offering.
It connects to various OT, ET, and IT data sources used in industrial environments, such as historians and edge gateways, to ingest the desired data. DataMosaix will connect to both Rockwell Automation and 3rd party systems, but standard connectors for Rockwell Automation products create a premium and simplified integration experience.
DataMosaix then transforms, contextualizes, and models the data so that it can be used across a wide range of applications where ultimately, it creates value. This can be in the form of dashboards and another visualization, which can be developed in a low-code/no-code application development tool or a traditional code-based development environment. As organizations continue to improve their data maturity, the data can be leveraged to build advanced analytics that are used in predictive and prescriptive applications.

What do you like best about the product?
FactoryTalk DataMosaix is particularly very skilled in compiling data from various sources within the firm. I find it beneficial because it connects the machine information with the strategic plan and objective on production. This visibility makes it easier for leadership to make decisions that touch the organisations’ bottom-line.
What do you dislike about the product?
FactoryTalk DataMosaix has issues with accessing data. This is disappointing when trying to make decisions and derive outputs that are timely especially for the production floor. For instance, I have experienced cases where machine performance information was delayed by a few minutes, which could have required quick intervention.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
FactoryTalk DataMosaix helps to connect higher levels of operational data and strategic goals. It allows me to dissect trends, pinpoint areas of constrictions in production and understand how resources should be regulated.
