Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for each running instance, and the software charge is billed per EC2 instance based on the type you choose. The many dimensions represent AWS EC2 instance types, from small general-purpose sizes to large compute-, memory-, and metal-class machines. Larger instances carry different hourly rates than smaller ones. You select the instance that fits your workload; pricing scales with the instance you run. The software runs on a pre-built machine image and starts through AWS Marketplace. Standard EC2 and other AWS usage fees apply separately from this software charge.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
The hourly charge covers the software licence for a pre-built machine image with the CMS installed. The image runs on a supported operating system with a web server, database, and needed modules already configured. You start it on an EC2 instance through AWS Marketplace.
The software fee meters running instance-hours. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. Underlying AWS storage or other resource fees may still apply while the instance is stopped. Those AWS fees are separate from this software charge.
No. The hourly software charge does not include technical support. If you need support, you buy a separate support licence for each instance you run. Contact the vendor to arrange support coverage for your deployment.

Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

- Launch the AMI product on EC2.
- Use a web browser to access the instance at http://<EC2_Instance_Public_DNS>/ .
- Click Start Movable Type button.
- Enter your instance_id, then you can set up your account.
