The validation of automated vehicles can be quite challenging. To test and validate an Autonomous Driving / Advanced Driver Assistance System (AD/ADAS), its performance needs to be tested in different test systems like Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) or Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) environments. This needs to be done for a large number of scenarios. Each of these scenarios contains millions of possible variations and has to be tested for every function update. This invariably leads to a significant inflation of testing expenditures due to enormous resource demands.
Intelligent test automation is needed to test thousands of scenario variations as conventional testing strategies become impossible and too resource intense.
We have developed IAV Valdivia Sample to test autonomous driving (AD) functions more efficiently and comprehensively using machine learning (ML) methods. It helps you to identify the really relevant test scenarios from millions of possible test cases in a cost efficient and traceable way. It intelligently automates parameter variation and enables fast identification of relevant scenarios while ensuring high transparency and reliability. For an easy analysis and comprehensive understanding of the AD function behavior, Valdivia Sample shows testing results in various interactive dashboards. These dashboards provide invaluable information for the improvement of your driving functions.
Valdivia Sample is a crucial building block for data-driven validation and supports evidence-based release argumentations. Implementations with leading test management and automation tools such as tracetronic Test.Guide are in the works.
