Your cost scales directly with how many hours your containers stay active. Run more containers or leave them running longer, and your total rises accordingly. Stop them, and billing stops too. This gives you a pay-as-you-go model for deploying the enterprise managed file transfer server in your own container environment.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one container hour for billing?
One container hour is one running instance of the SFTPGo Enterprise container active for one hour. Each running container accrues charges separately. If you run several containers at once, each one meters its own hours. Partial hours and clustered deployments across multiple nodes each add to your total.
Am I charged when the container is stopped or paused?
Charges accrue only while the container runs. Stop the container and software billing stops. Underlying AWS resources, such as storage or networking, may still carry their own charges even when the container is not running. The SFTPGo software meters active container time only.
Does adding more nodes for clustering or high availability increase my hourly cost?
Yes. Each node is a single SFTPGo instance, such as one pod on Kubernetes. Charges apply per running container hour, so each additional node running for high availability or clustering adds its own hours. Your total scales with the number of active containers.
