You pay by the hour for the compute instance that runs your managed Odoo deployment. The eight options are AWS EC2 instance sizes across three families: T2, T3, and M5. You pick one instance size, and your rate depends on the size and family you choose. Larger instances (medium, large, xlarge) offer more compute capacity per hour. The T2 and T3 families are general-purpose burstable instances, while M5 instances are general-purpose with balanced compute and memory. All options include the same managed service: provisioning, monitoring, backups, and updates.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does the hourly rate cover, and am I charged when the instance is stopped?
The hourly rate covers the running EC2 instance that hosts your managed Odoo deployment, plus provisioning, monitoring, backups, and updates. Software charges meter running time, so a fully stopped instance stops accruing them. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes.
What is included in each instance-hour beyond the raw compute?
Each hour includes the running instance plus the managed service layer: automated provisioning, pre-configured monitoring dashboards, daily backups stored in a separate region, security patches, and one-click updates. You do not pay separately for these operations. They apply to every instance size in the same way.
If I need more capacity, how does moving to a larger instance change my bill?
You pick one instance size and pay its hourly rate. Moving to a larger size (for example large or xlarge) changes your rate to that size's hourly price. The change applies to all hours after you switch. There is no upfront commitment, so you pay only for hours the chosen instance runs.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
